Pantech Marauder Review

0. phoneArena 08 Aug 2012, 04:00 posted on

Over the past few years, we’ve seen numerous phones from Pantech that are budget friendly, including the Pantech Breakout. But until now, if you wanted a 4G LTE smartphone with a physical QWERTY keyboard, your choices were limited to the Samsung Stratosphere, or the higher-end (and higher priced) Motorola DROID 4. Verizon now gives a new option with the Pantech Marauder. Not only does it have a sliding QWERTY keyboard, but is running Android Ice Cream Sandwich...

i don't have a problem using the physical keyboard. the keys are flat but you can still distinguish the difference from the surrounding plastic because it has a rubbery feel to it. also it's spaced enough for me. I'd give this phone a 8/10 considering it has a dual core processor, 1GB ram and android ICS for $49. That's like a steal. The only thing i don't like is the overall design. Samsung Stratosphere may have a better design and better physical keyboard but it's only a single core processor and old android 2.3, so people might want to consider that as well. if i have a choice between this phone and the Samsung Stratosphere, I would go with the Pantech Marauder because of the stronger processor/RAM and newer android software.

CypherCross, I wish I had never gotten my Stratosphere. I got it in either February or March. I have been different kinds of problems with it starting around May or June, Fianlly got to where it was happening pretty frequently. E-mailed customer support about it a few weeks ago. Got my first certified phone on Sept 7, 2012. There were other problems with it starting the day I got it. Then the same problems with in 24 hours. I emailed again on Sept 10 or 11. They shipped me another certified phone. I got everything set on it, and guess what. It only worked properly for about 24 hours. Talked to them today and they are suppose to be sending me a Pantech Marauder. Hope this one owrks better than what I have now.
