Palm Pre Review

The Palm Pre is the best phone we’ve ever used. Quite simply, it’s a brilliant phone and we appreciate the detail put into both the hardware and more importantly the software. It at least matches the iPhone, and often trumps it, in just about every aspect...

i agree with phone arena, the pre is nearly a perfect phone.....i mean it does pretty much everything you could ever want a phone to do, and then some.....im sick of all you people ragging on phone arena when your probably sitting at home on your couches....these people work hard everyday to bring us the latest and greatest in cell phone news and still find the time to review every phone worth reviewing......so how about this your opinion can count when its your profession and you get paid to review cell phones

I don't know how you can read this review and not see bias in it, however, I am excited to see a phone finally coming out that can give Apple some competition. Although, I was really expecting to see something much much sooner and on a better service provider. The iPhone has been out for two years and there really hasn't been anything that could be compared to the overall functionality and software the iPhone has. The Pre however seems to be the first to change that, but I think they are atleast one year too late. Ironically the iPhone is to the smartphone market, what Windows is to the computer market. They dominate. Hopefully the Pre can catch up with available apps, but I don't for see that happening quickly. The reason I chose to get a new 3GS over the Pre is mainly because of the software available today. The Pre may have the ability to out shine the iPhone, but it sure doesn't right now at this moment. Why pay for a phone that is going to be awsome some day versus owning one that already is? Another big deal breaker for me is the provider. I have to travel two hours to get 3G service on Sprint. AT&T, T-mobile, and Verizon/alltel have 3G service where I live. The best provider for service locally is Verizon. But where is their iPhone killer? It disappoints me that the iPhone has been out for two years and all the while I was hanging out with a WinMo phone, hoping a great iPhone killer would come out. I know many of you that have posted probably feel the Pre is The One(Neo), but I disagree. I have finally thrown in the towel and joined the Apple Fanboy club.

how come you don't update your top/best ratings thing? Shouldn't the pre be on that list somewhere? and for the carriers its not updated at all. you still have the samsung instinct as the best sprint phone but what about the s30 or the pre of course, or the tour or touch pro2. Please update to help people better pick their phones.

9.9 How in the world did you get 9.9 on a phone a normal person can't even type on? And so so many things phones that are years old can already do and this phone can't! Come on guys how much did Palm pay for this false plumped up ad?

I'm a Pal Pre user, and I got to say I do love my phone but the lack of support and apps added to the battery life which is so poor, I regret having bought this phone
