Definitely Galaxy! N8 looks like 1999 model. A button on the bottom left, they should put it on the middle of the screen, that is what I call innovation!

Galaxy S looks like any other big-screen Android handset out there. N8 has a much better design.

I would rather buy a milestone 2.. 1.2 ghz processor, literally built like a tank ! , hardware QWERTY keyboard (and one of the slimmest phone with full QWERTY) And android 2.2 ( froyo ) out of the box.. And moto is far better in making android phones than the samsung.

my friend... moto phones support is pathetic at best. Their battery life is not that great and resale value is absolute zero. Would like to point out that galaxy s also as gorilla glass here.... Battery life in galaxy s is very bad when compared to a nokia phone....I can vouch for that. But symbian 3 is something which is just about to die....and thats very well known. So N8 did a big mistake by going the symbian way.

Symbian^3 is not about to die. You are an idiot that does not know what he is talking about.

Ok understand that nokia n8 better but is nokia n8 supporting full multitouch? No shooting video at darkness without light no led same as samsung galaxy but the different in the sensor n8 has the biggest sensor. Now I want to ask the important question nokia are they going to update the nokia n8 with symbian 4^?!

Galaxy S is certainly not a bad choice. Chose N8 though because of better GPS and Nokia quality. Also because the one point people complain about is the interface and after trying iPhone, Android and S3, I didn't find any significant difference in usability.

@Sayantan Nandi

Many good points about the Galaxy S however the GPS is not fixed with the froyo update.

The GPS is still useless, I've tried three seperate Galaxy S, one being the 16GB version not that it matters, but the GPS is next to useless on them all even with the latest version of 2.2.

GPS on Galaxy S is NOT fixed.

From what I can see the only think the N8 does better that matters is photos, everything else with the exception of the broken GPS it wins.

Galaxy S Pros

Larger better screen (5 point touch support)
Faster CPU
Faster GPU
More Memory
Better Video Player - supports more formats
Better Music Player - better quality audio & support
Android - Better OS, Android Market
Better Video Recording - 30FPS 720P
Better Web Browser - Flash 10.1, no crappy flashlite.
Thinner
Lighter

N8 pros

Camera (flash, 12MP)
GPS
Build Quality

how on earth can you give the galaxy a pros for thinner and ligther but the quality of that is crap? and for your information the n8 supports more video and audio codecs, just go and read gsm arena's review. the n8 also records better videos seeing that it uses real 3* zoom which is actually like optical zoom. and the n8 has a better gpu. so get your facts right before posting crap for people who have no knwoledge of the phones

Galaxy S Pros
bigger better screen
more ram
better cpu (90 million polygons)
android better for some people
better web browser but still doesnt like the n8 have flash 10.1 until android 2.2 becomes available

Nokia N8 Pros
best camera on a mobile (12MP)
better video recording seeing it uses realtime zoom and stereo sound cause it uses 2 mics
faster gpu (about 30million polygons and the galaxy about 18milion)
better build quality
better gps
usb on the go
hdmi out
real 5.1 dolby digital plus surround sound
pentaband coverage
symbian 3 is fully hardware accelarated which means the powerfull broadcom gpu can help anywere, anytime in the OS

I got the N8 because I used to like nokia... bad choice.. Its not a good phone, sadly to say.. The only good thing, its the camera.. the rest I preffer my old Nokia N95.. The phone gets blocked a lot, with any application, it has to be restarted to get it to function again.. the outlook sync does not work, I have a case open with nokia since i bought it, and then haven´t been able to fix it, and in all forums there is the same problem reported.., also there is problems with the VPN, it doesn´t work either..

Is not fast in response.. when you click over an application, it takes some times, forever to open it, when it doesn,t get blocked, and has to be restarted.. I already upgraded the software, but still the same problems.. While navegating it also blocks in some pages with videos or animation.

In summary, I don´t recommend this phone, and I´m already trying to get a refund for the money I pay for it, because it doesnt do what they say it will ( like sync with outlook), and I need it for my job..

reading through the review and the comments...i personally feel that although galaxy S is the winner in some points like the screen quality faster CPU etc. but i dont know why any one would pay more for getting these usual stuff rather than more hardware possibilities like a HDMI port for watching movies on your home theatre and a 12 mp camera to click better picture with xenon flash. more over how many formats do we play...does that even matter....both phones have readable quality in the sun so that also rules out...
i was actually confused about which of the two to buy but now am totally clear that what i want in my phone is hardware to perform more functions as software can be later updated and this leads me to n8.
and people you forgot the FM transmitter which is a useful feature in n8 and does a good job too...i nalready had it in n79 and its a life saver when you are on a long trip...and no songs to play in cd's,dvd's and pd's...
but what confuses me still is what are the future prospects with symbian 3^ as i have heard that nokia is going to tie up with microsoft for some software tweaks...will symbian 3^ be neglected then..??
just this confusion gets cleared and i'll own one of themm..
please advice..!!!
