Nokia Lumia 710 Review

0. phoneArena posted on 04 Jan 2012, 23:02

Reinventing themselves, Nokia has a lot to overcome if they intend on being a major player in the US once again, but with Microsoft’s blessings, they seem poised to make a comeback. With that in mind, the Finnish company embarks on a new venture with its upcoming Nokia Lumia 710 for T-Mobile, which is priced competitively at $49.99 on-contract, but the question that remains unanswered is whether or not it’ll be a standout hit to garner some buzz...

So, just got this phone tonight as part of my Champion program in the store. Will post up a review somewhere tomorrow. I'm digging it so far.

I've finally gotten my paws on the 710 and fiddled around with it. How the heck did this little budget phone get a 7???? For the budget class smartphones, id give it like a 9 or so. Its frikkin quick, buttery smooth, is the first WP7 phone with good navigation, decent camera, solid build quality/feel for the price range, and i have no idea why people are complaining about the screen. Yea sure, its not Amoled or IPS, but it doesnt look bad at all. Definately not as bad as say the samsung dart's screen.

For $50 bux or less, it puts it in firing range with low end android sets like the HTC wildfire (piece of junk), the iphone 3gs which is quite lacking in everything but apps compared to the 710, a blackberry curve, and other low end smartphones phones. for a $0-50 price tag for a brand new piece of equipment (not some 3 year old bargain bin iphone with a horrible screen) with a 1.4ghz processor, great nokia GPS features, and a 5mpx camera, its worth more than its price tag suggests. How did that score a 7 again exactly?

Another dumb review where they just skip right over the exclusive ESPN app. Oh yeah, there's that app that no one else has. Let's not show how it works....(sarcasm) I would've least liked to know if the video actually works even though I wouldn't get this phone if it was free. Sheesh! People these days.lol

Ok so I need to really think before I post (re my previous posts saying the radar was better). I didnt get enough hands on with this at CES. So I went to the store & exchanged. And the unit you actually get is better then the demo units running in stores too! Besides the lack of Front facing camera I think the Lumia 710 IS better overall then the Radar now. :) They are still both really similiar but the faster processor and Nokia drive app plus i like the Lumia design are enough in my opinion to make it better. I was thinking the radars camera was better (they both have slightly diff settings) Now I have to give it to the 710. But you cant go wrong really with either one if you want a good wp & your on Tmobile. But I would reccomend the 710.
