Motorola Debut i856 Review
Performance and Conclusion:

Call quality on the i856 Debut was very good.  Callers rated us at an 8.5 with no real complaints, and on our end we were pleased as well.  There was some echoing at times, but on the whole we can agree with their rating.  Battery life is listed at a fairly paltry 3.5 hours of talk time and 4 days of standby, both of which are on the low end of the spectrum.  It’s enough to last the day however for all but the heaviest of users.

Much like the Clutch, the Debut is a good phone for what it is.  For $100 you can certainly get better phones, but if for whatever reason you need iDEN the Debut is probably the phone to have.  It doesn’t have the high quality display of the i9, but we like the design better.  Battery life could use a boost as well, but the call quality was top-notch.  Sexy iDEN slider indeed.

Pros

  • Good design
  • Great call quality
  • Greatly improved interface

Cons

  • Battery life could be better
