Sadly, it appears that nothing has changed with the handset’s quality with shooting photos and videos. For something that has a lot of potential, its still shot results produce soft details, bland colors, and poor dynamic range – making it revolting to even accept at times. Conversely, the same can be said about video capture as it continues to be glaring with its garish details and noticeable evidence of artifacting when panning. Fortunately, its 1080p video recording shoots at the consistent rate of 29 frames per second, and that audio recording is distinctively clear.

Of course, there’s the novel feature of shooting content in 3D, and without a doubt, it’s amazing to see the various levels of depth as they’re viewed on its 3D display. Clearly, its 3D effect is prevalent and is easily regarded as one of its most defining characteristics – however, details are noticeably degraded versus its 2D capture. Nonetheless, we’re very accepting of the results since it’s able to capture visuals that are filled with things popping in and out of the scenery. And it simply just works!

Multimedia:

In portrait, its music player is mainly straightforward with its presentation, but turning it to landscape, we greeted with a very different, yet invigorating looking carousel interface. Furthermore, its audio output with its internal speaker is pleasant to the ear as it produces robust tones that don’t crackle at the highest volume setting.

Raving about its very good looking display already, the handset has no problem in running high definition videos. Specifically, we’re able to play a movie trailer encoded in DivX 1920 x 1080 resolution without much fluff – and it helps that it plays buttery smooth.

In addition to the 8GB of internal storage available with it, there’s an 8GB microSD card preloaded as well to provide a total storage amount of 16GB. Well, if that’s still deemed as paltry, you can always replace the card with others up to 32GB in capacity.

Internet and Connectivity:

The LG Thrill 4G beats our expectations as it’s able to load complex web sites in no time at all. Actually, we’re smitten with awe as it’s able to produce average download and upload speeds of 6.0 Mbits/s and 1.5Mbits/s respectively. Not only is it the fastest we’ve seen to date from AT&T’s camp, but its overall web browsing experience is supplemented by the fantastic performance consisting of responsive navigational controls and Flash support.

Just like its European sibling, the LG Thrill 4G is a GSM phone that’s able to work in almost every corner of the globe. Its 3G UMTS/HSPA radio however is not usable in Europe, so you will be locked to 2G speeds if you go on a vacation across the pond. Along for the ride as usual, it features other connectivity items like Bluetooth, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, and aGPS.

I agree. It is coming out way too late. I was really interested in it a few months back. Not for it's 3d capabilities. But rather the Ti Dual core processor, and the dual channel ram. I still think this is going to be a decent device, but I think the old saying "timing is everything" really applies here.

This phone has amazing build quality and amazing screen clarity. It also has a seious software flaw and it bricks itself after x number of power cycles. Im on number two in 48 hours. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!!!!! It great while it works, but google LG Thrill bricking and you'll find a mess of complaints. Oh, and battery life sux. Best option thus far is the Atrix or Inspire. Good luck, buyer beware.

I've had this phone for 3 days now and no problems besides user error, haha. Not sure what the person's problem with bricking is...is it rooted? if not it could just be a bad phone, as someone that sells cells I see it all the time when we just get a bad phone or two in... sad to say but it happens...

The phone itself is great, being someone that jumped the apple ship to Android there are a vast number of better features than the iPhone, and this phone is more advanced than the next iPhone could possibly be...

Also, the processor ROX! Never seen a phone this fast...

The first 3D phone in the world and has finally popped up in the USA! The LG Thrill(Optimus 3D) is packing some serious power and a high quality 3D screen.

This phone should appeal to anyone that likes 3D and video games. The glasses free 3D screen looks great in 2D and 3D. It is very similar in quality to the 3DS but larger and higher resolution.

Compared to the HTC EVO 3D, the Thrill has the edge in the 3D and CPU department. Benchmark tests show the Thrill as a top performer, Everything runs fast and games are very smooth. The Thrill screen produces a good 3D image with plenty of depth and a decent viewing angle, just like the 3DS.

LG baked in some really nice 3D features and games that the competition is lacking. The LG "3D Space" app is a really cool 3D menu that nicely organizes all of the 3D content.

Three Free 3D games (NOVA, Golf, Asphalt 6) and a 3D book are preloaded on the Thrill, along with a number of 3D movie trailers and clips. The Thrill appears to support more 3D games than the EVO 3D at this time with about a dozen available. Many of the 3D games have a 3D slider that allows you to adjust the effect. Expect a good amount of added depth with the 3D games, All of the Gameloft 3D games are 99 Cents each when purchased through the "3D Games" App that is preloaded.

2D/3D Camera does a decent job, although appears a bit dark in all but the brightest light and lacks a shutter button, I hope LG will allow the 3D button to work as camera shutter button in future update.

Youtube 3D is the killer app for this device. Tons of free 3D is available on Youtube, Search 'YT3D' on Youtube to view all 3D videos.

Gingerbread update is coming in October, along with LG's 3D game converter which will add 3D support for about 40 more games!

Bottom line: Better 3D experience than the competition. LG - Please make a glasses free tablet!

this phone isn't that bad.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WXkTEfAI05I
that video is from the low end LGE phones. Compared to this phones videos, its a lot better. But obvouisly, I should not compare that phone to this phone...besides, this phone is 3D...
