LG Optimus G Pro vs Samsung Galaxy S III
0. phoneArena 08 Mar 2013, 08:20 posted on
Even after almost a year since its introduction, the Samsung Galaxy S III remains one of the most sought-after handsets, that's why we are staging a quick comparison with LG's newest flagship darling, the Optimus G Pro. Granted, being a newer generation device, the G Pro beats the S III in almost every specs category, but Samsung has managed to create its finest future-proof, and keeps it relevant with thoughtful software updates, so let's dig in and examine which is the one for you...

"less-resolute display"? Lower resolution perhaps?

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 + HTC One X + powerful hardware = LG Optimus G Pro

GS3 running key lime Pie, if it does get the update, will still be very much relevant in 2013. True it is running last year's hardware and is now considered a mid ranger but it'll run for another solid year until the S5 comes out before being relegated to obsolescence. That Optimus G Pro does look a beast, can't wait to see what LG have planned for the Optimus G 2, it is rumoured to pack an edge to edge almost no bezel screen with the big.LITTLE setup as with the S4 and Note 3.

If apple wins in court against Sammy, Sammy could recoup the money by nailing LG.

I really don't get this patent war. What are the designers supposed to do?
Maybe, them designers should work on some triangular or hexagonal chasis designs in order not to infringe patent copyrights.
This whole design based patent war is ridiculous. S3 and G Pro has different designs even though there are some similar aspects. All in all, there are not much options to place some of the features other that they are already positioned, such as the earpiece, the function buttons, the front camera, the sensors, the rear camera and the flash. I cannot imagine a phone with a microphone in the center of the back cover.
The companies should be reasonable. Who did really buy a Chinese copycat of an iPhone with the exact shape and positioning of the original Apple design? Let me say, only those who cannot afford a genuine iPhone, in other words people who are the target consumers of Apple Inc. . Moreover, never ever any global company will copy exactly the same desing of the others. Such a mistake would damage the prestige of that company so much that it would not worth it.
We should stop being guardians of money milking companies' prides...

I agree, there are only this amount of "good designs" a company can use.
its either plastic rounded candybar design, plastic sharp cornered candy bar design, glossy black candy bar design, metal frame rounded candy bar design, metal frame sharp candy bar design.
I don't see any company going out of those parameters for highend qwertyless phones.
if a company tries to diverge(ie. kyocera echo, they most likely fail)
since a company only has this pool of functional designs, all designs are all bounded to look similar
