LG Optimus 4X HD vs HTC One X

Although they both are considered high-end smartphones, neither photos taken with the Optimus 4X HD nor the ones shot with the One X look spectacular. In fact, the results are good, but nothing out of the ordinary for this smartphone class. Something that bothers us is that the 4X HD has a hard time finding the right focus and exposure values, while the One X has some troubles with macro photography. Yet perhaps you might be a bit more satisfied with the camera on the HTC One X simply because it takes full-res photos pretty fast in burst mode, and the camera interface is a bit easier to use. Also, there appears to be more detail present in the 1080p videos that it takes.

Multimedia:

Beats Audio – that is what it says on the back of the HTC One X. We have to say, however, that it isn't that big of an advantage. The enhancement, which is more or less an advanced equalizer, is more impressive when you listen to modern music, but does not make things much better if you prefer more sophisticated genres.

The audio players on both the HTC One X and the LG Optimus 4X HD offer similar functionality, but the former has a few neat tricks, such as the lock screen playback controls and the SoundHound integration. All in all, the One X does a better job as a portable music player.

But when it comes to videos, we think that both smartphones are equally good. Any popular video format you can come up with is playable, and watching video on these massive, high-resolution displays is a pleasure.

I'm tired of all these cliffhangers phonearena. It feels like I'm watching "Twilight: New Droid". Still great review. For me it would ultimately come down to design. I like the cleaner look of the LG Optimus 4X better but I like the more solid build quality of the One X. Well still, I couldn't deside lol.

why would anyone thumb that down
i agree with birds
even apple fanboys hate cliffhangers because then they don't get to see their precious apple iphone win...

WHY?

I think, yes, you should always pick a winner considering all the factors at once.

other smackdowns, They have some sort of winner, but they do not discredit the loser, instead they recommend it for some other market.

i like sense better than lg's interface
it just looks awkward some stock stuff, then some non stock stuff. They just don't match

atleast everything in the one x is consistent

i find the conclusion unexciting, bland and boring he did not even make any recomendations or he did not even tried to emphasize the advantage or disadvantage of the two device or even the edge of one to another other... of course there's gotta be a winner in them.. for me its lg optimus 4x but not in the huge margin because i think it feels more compact in hand though i have to say that camera is a bit flaw for its autofocus problem. but it seems that lg was able to maximized its quadcore compared to htc one x but at least when it comes to built htc got the crown

I own both and in some respects they are close but afraid for all round user experience, it is the One X all the way. LG falls down when it comes to the little details such as no Notification light at all, no way of telling when battery fully charged except if the phone is being charged whilst it is on! Delicate bottom strip prone to popping loose when removing charger!

Yes the 4x can have app shortcuts on the lockscreen.. PA probably doesn't know how... :)

Also one thing, why do they mention about one x being a better audio player with " SoundHound integration" and all but they didn't mention the MediaPlex of 4x being a better video player? Favor much?

they all copying from htc. look at the 3d effect look at optimus and look at s3. s3 only does it the other way around. HTC ONE X IS BEST. Stop copying

Sorry to me LG has always been the cheaper not so great cousin to Samsung i feel that the other companies just put a little more into their devices where the LG just does what it needs to to get by all in all i would choose the HTC One X. In terms of top phones this is how it seems to go:

1. Samsung or HTC (this is more based on preference)
2. Motorola
3. LG

That's what i've seen at least from the history of smartphones LG is always just lagging behind a little in it's quality of their product versuses everyone else.

I think that htc One X now is king of Android.
In Latvia you can buy SGS3 for 525 LVL (949$), what is not cheap, and htc One X for 350 LVL (633$), what is much cheaper.
Htc has excellent build quality and, of course, htc Sense.

i have the one x and it has the crappiest, weakest tinny sounding loud speaker ever. I tried three different set of phones and different downloaded quality types of music and all of them suck and are weak. beat does absolutely nothing, NOTHING to the quality of sound on this thing. It is merely a gimmick and that is all. Also, the phone quality, ear piece volume is horrible! very weak and hard to hear. The phone looks bad ass but is very awkward to hold and you will definately need a case or this thing will easily slide out of your hand. anyways, wish i could trade it in but i think this is the best droid phone out at the moment. i say that b/c there are very positive things about the phone as well, screen style big time and it is very light weight, battery is also pretty good. sense rocks!
