LG Cosmos Touch Review

As a follow-up to the Cosmos VN250, LG needed to improve on the entry-level messaging. So what do you do to a basic, side-sliding messaging phone? Why add a touchscreen, of course! The VN270 Cosmos Touch retains the same basic specs as the original, and mostly just adds a touchscreen. Other features include a 1.3 megapixel camera, full QWERTY keyboard and GPS...

This phone is horrible. Do not buy under any circumstances. I just use my phone for calling and texting, and this one only does both ineffectively.
Biggest complaint is that it pocket-dials people on average probably twice a week. I don't even keep it on anymore, as I'm paranoid about pocket-dialing someone and having them hear me say something I don't want them to hear.
It randomly shuts off in the middle of composing a text maybe 5% of the time. Around 10% of the time I try to make a call, I get a pop-up ad for something called the Daily Scoop. I immediately hit dismiss, but it takes 5-10 seconds to get off my screen and I can't make a call until it does. Not a horrible problem, but annoying, and has me worried about what would happen in an emergency (having to wait an extra ten seconds to call 911 could have some really bad results).
I greatly preferred my old flip-phone, and would change back in a heartbeat if I could.
I will say that I've had no problems with the speakerphone, or with battery life or charge time. I also like the QWERTY keyboard. But, I reiterate, do not buy this phone.

I hate this phone more than anything. IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT GETTING IT, DO NOT. I got it for my birthday in November and I'm on my second phone. On my first one, the calibration went insane and it totally stopped working. It changes who you're sending texts to all the time, so I always have to check and make sure I'm sending texts to the right person. I have a refurb right now and the keyboard buttons don't press, the send button doesn't work, and to end a call i have to hit end over 10 times before it will hang up, AND IT CAME LIKE THAT. The camera sucks, the phone battery life is great for a week before it totally gives out, the back of the phone doesn't stay on, it randomly deletes my contacts all the time, it deletes my text messages, the screen doesn't work half the time, it restarts all the time. Also, it overheats. And when it overheats, it's too hot to touch and i have to take the battery out for 15 minutes so it can cool down. I used to have the enV 3 and i've gone back to that phone twice now since November because i cannot stand this piece of crap. I bought it for $250 at the Verizon store and that was the worst investment of my life. I promise you this phone will break on you. Do not buy it.

This was my 2nd phone, and I loved it for the first few months, but then the phone started randomly rebooting, and resseting to the default settings. Now it doesn't read any microSD cards very well. It's never been water damaged, nor has it been handled roughly... This has happened to my friend and her mother when they got this phone as well...
