LG Chocolate Touch VX8575 Preview

0. phoneArena posted on 24 Sep 2009, 06:51

Since 2006 Verizon has released a new LG Chocolate series phone each year and we are now at the 4th iteration with the LG Chocolate Touch VX8575. Even though this device is rumored to be released by mid-October, we were lucky enough to get an early sample...

Boy,that was great information! I think everyone got all caught up in the bl40 ballyhoo while the choc.touch actually is just progressing along the chocolate series lines. I think it is a great upgrade for the music lovers but can't see why they would not offer a better camera and screen resolution? i guess you just can't have the best of both worlds.

It's BS because we can have the best of both worlds and verizon is too stupid to give there customers that. They had the option to take the bl40 but they thought it was too good for there customers we could have that 800x380 res and the auto focus camera in there but it would be just to perfect soo nooooo verizon has to save money and use creeper ****. To keep their infamous name of "Nickel and Dimming *****".

wow chisooi.. i coulda sworn LG made phones and Verizon just sold the service to use it. wow, how could we all have been so dumb that it was really verizon this whole time!! thanks for opening my eyes!

I'm pretty sure that's what he's saying when he said, "They had the option to TAKE the bl40," which would insinuate that VZW didn't choose it from the manufacturer, LG. He never said they built it like crap, he said they didn't take, or choose the bl40.

this phone would have got me excited in 2007, but there is absolutely nothing about it that stands out. i take that back, the design is a huge eyesore.

Im actualy glad this doesnt look like the bl40. I like this design

I would get this phone just to annoy people with the drum set and the piano... THAT IS FUN!

nice to see verizon incorporate more included games on new handsets and the addition of the music extras is a perfect for a music-centric phone

The FM Radio with RDS looks cool!

ok this isnt anything like the BL40 changed the design colors the screen is way smaller and the camera isn't 5 mp like on the original and BETTER BL 40 this is crap b/c vzw is just being cheap and not going with the real thing the one that actually stands out this is just kinda like a Dare 2 or something.....and i agree with mr. anderson b/c the only thing about it that actually stands out is the ugly-ass design. it would have gotten people excited in 2007, also agreeing with mr. anderson. to sum it up, average specs, hideous design, and not what the BL40 has to offer.

Can you even imagine how awesome this phone would have been if it came out in 1986?

9. vaan144 posted on 27 Sep 2009, 12:22

wow they really messed this phone up. i see it as the uprgade to the Dare, which i have, and it looks a lot worse, on the outside and the UI. it is definetely not similar to the bl40... the inly interesting thing is the music options, but its not worth it.

Did anyone read the posts under the BL40 review? No one has made a positive comment about it. I talked to an LG rep just last week, who told me VZW ran a focus group with the BL40 and the VX8575 and 90% of the participants (a combo of existing and non-VZW customers) chose the VX8575 thus VZW going with that one and making sure they make money. Although I like the design of the BL40 better than this "Dare 2", I could see why Big Red didn't go with it. VZW doesn't take uncalculated risk. They don't want to get stuck with a warehouse full of phones that won't sell, such as the Samsung Trance.

I always love the pictures they take on these phones... It's like getting a glimpse into a day in the life of a phone arena writer. "Here's my refrigerator, I like magnets as you can plainly see. Here's my neighbor Bob's building, he's a pretty cool guy, we throw back a beer or two on the weekends together. Here's my little garden, it's not much, but I do what I can to spruce the place up... Haven't had any ladies here in quite some time, so it keeps me occupied." Haha, at least, that's what I hear when I think of Cribs: Phone Arena.

keep in mind this phone is being released to take advantage of the new required data pricing...as it will be device #2 to require it... accrording to a trusted source...you will see a very very quick phase out of the versa, env3, env touch, and any other good phone that doesnt require data plans to put out ones that do....thats just smart business... the rouge is outselling the expectations, so they learned people will spend the money

24. rickwhoo posted on 05 Nov 2009, 13:46

THERE IS NO DATA PLAN CHARGES ON THIS PHONE

25. beav posted on 05 Nov 2009, 21:04
