HTC One X+ vs Samsung Galaxy S III

0. phoneArena 07 Nov 2012, 09:10 posted on

Some Android manufacturers, like Samsung, didn't touch their current high-end phones going into the holiday season, others like Sony or LG issued brand new devices in the fight, while HTC took a different approach, and upgraded its spring chicken HTC One X to the One X+ specs. It is the latest newcomer to the grand Android kerfuffle, so it is only natural that we intend to throw it in a bar brawl with the Samsung Galaxy S III, a phone that sold 30 million units so far...

I love all of the HTC OneX+ design but the back camera, it looks like an ugly scar !

I had the HTC OneX but was stolen then i replaced it with the S3. I highly doubt that the 300mAh extra juice would add a lot of surfing time, especially the processor was overclocked. my OneX with 1,800mAh barely manages 4hrs screen on of continuous browsing at 50% brightness. my S3 however manages up to 6-7hrs at 50% brightness. But for screen quality, OneX hands down, its gorgeous and bright and lovely to look at. I overclocked my S3 to 1.6GHz and i had the same benchmarks as the OneX+. I tried overclocking my OneX in the past as well but overheats and the battery life was even worse. What i love about the OneX though is the stand-by time, 8hrs of sleep, it losses just 1% whereas the S3 losses about 3%. But i was happier with S3 overall. The multitasking, better battery life in browsing, watching vids, playing games, and pretty much everything else, easy storage thru SDcard (i have put on my past HTC Sensation and i can put on future devices), more overclock efficient processor thru root, better camera, and everything else except for the screen and standby time.

It's very hard to choose which of these two phones in the end wins. But I suppose the best thing to rely on is which feature has more of your personal preference

Well I updated my S3 to jelly bean last week by Samsung Kies and it is very smooth, I like it. I still have no idea why PA compares the JB One X+ with ICS S3.
Away from this both are great phones and i would love to get anyone.

Last night I dreamt I had this phone(One X+). From that, I conclude that HTC is the Best.

It's like comparing Kia to Hyundai - it does not matter who wins. If you have the money to buy one of them, well - don't. Buy a real premium phone instead. :)

I like the HTC, but the non-removable battery is a deal breaker as I am on the move, especially at work, and can't always get to a charger. I do a lot of emails and web and drain my battery pretty good, so I carry a spare. For now, I'm sticking with my Samsung Exhilarate, which can do everything I need it to do, at a fraction of the price of the big boys. With my ICS upgrade, it's like a smaller GS3. That said, these are both awesome devices.
