HTC One X vs Samsung Galaxy Nexus

0. phoneArena 06 Apr 2012, 04:14 posted on

A lot of users out there who are considering buying the new HTC One X are probably wondering if it's really better than the Galaxy Nexus, which is a device that has an almost identical footprint. Well, of course a lot of users will be torn between these two powerhouses, seeing that they feature displays that are almost exactly the same in terms of size, and both run Android 4 ICS...

after reading all the new HTC One series reviews, i've come to a conclusion. Phonearena is bias to the HTC One X.

See link below. About the fairest review I have read on this phone and it articulates my thought so it. It is not about Android Vs iOS or whatever, it is about the PHONE and this is the ONE!

Surely the htc's camera is the better one. But the shuttery video recording and firstly the bad audio recording makes the 1080p feature invalid. I mean you can't record a video if you're going to see a live concert, you can't record video while being in a louder location eg some restaurant or what, you can't even record a vlog or something, because the audio sounds like a 60's microphone. It's alwys been an htc problem and I can't understand why this still exists. I mean everything is high quality but video recording is junk?! I know there are quiet alot of people sharing a similar view but I always have the feeling most people ignore this fact.
The nexus' design isn't that bad, the white version actually looks pretty cool (similar to the one x), the only problem is the back of the phone. It seems that samsung tried to create a certain "samsung-trademark" but it looks really un-chic. Further, a unibody case always looks more elegant, but then you have the problem that there is no battery to be changed.

For an unbiased and true review of this handset, go and read the Engadget Review. Absolutely agree with it having now used the phone for 1 full week.

Not a comparison but a true review of the handset based on its relative merits!

I can't believe this stupid debate! If you have actually used both phones, which I have, then feel free to comment sensibly on the merits of either handset. I have owned both and as you may guess still own the One x. Well, I sold my SGN although I thought it was a cracking phone and vanilla android is always a good thing.

The One x takes user experience just that bit further and quite frankly, I might have been more reluctant to make the jump but the 16gb thing just did not fly.

Loving my One x!

Well, the bottom line is if this is HTC's flagship phone, it's a dissappointment really if the nexus comes that close to beating it in a review. Especially when you know that right around the corner Samsung is gearing up to announce a new galaxy phone, most likely the Galaxy S III and it will again top charts and push the boundaries of the current norm. And i personnally don't like HTC's phones because of the processors they use. They normally use either Tegra or Qualcomm . I just don't think these processors match up when compared to the Omap and Exynos. HTC's Sense does give a polished look to it's phones but it also is tough on the battery as well. compared to the other UI's it is the most taxing on the system.

Don't waste money in Samsung galaxy Nexus, htc one x is the best. I had SC2 User before, the battery life poor and super amoled cause my eyes unconfortable when you long time watching and not natural, now the super ips lcd 2 is the best screen in market.

I'm waiting for the Galaxy S 4. After checking out the galaxy nexus, one x and galaxy s3, I couldn't understand why I would downgrade. I have a Samsung Galaxy s2 and the screen is noticeable better then the other 3 phones, the s3 doesn't have the super amloed plus screen. Its the main thing that is making me wait but there are other things as well. The s2 has a 1.5ghz Dual core cpu the same as the s3, the only upgrade on the s3 is the 2gb of ram but I don't need more then the 1gb of ram that I have now.if you have a Galaxy s2 you are set. I almost bought into the hype myself but I'm so happy I didn't. The Screen on the s3 is .3 inches bigger and a little higher resolution but it does not use the normal RGB matrix so it only has half the sub pixels as the s2. That's why you see all the black lines on the s3's screen. If theyreleased a versionof the s3 with a Super Amloed plus screen, I would go for it but until then the Galaxy s2 is still the superior phone. It looks like I'll be sticking with my s2 for another year but I'm fine with that and now that its running 4.0 it really is the best phone all around and for the price you really can't beat it.

Are you kidding? I mean, really? I honestly hope you're trolling or being sarcastic, but if you are serious; first of all,

The screen on the One X is unmatched, 4.7" S-LCD2 IPS 720p HD uses the full pixel matrix, and not Pentile like the Galaxy S III and Nexus (which only makes it lose 1/3 of a sub-pixel, not half) but I can see why you say the GS2 display is better than the GS3 and the Nexus.

The dual-core CPU on the Galaxy S 3 and Galaxy S 2 are leagues apart. Sure, they're both 1.5 GHz, but they use 2 different architectures. The CPU in the Galaxy S 2 uses the Snapdragon S3 processor, using the A-9 architecure, and is one of, if not the, worst performing dual-core CPUs because of it's underclocked graphics.

The processor in the Galaxy S 3 and One X uses the new generation Snapdragon S4 processor, which uses the new A-15 architecture making it about 50% faster and about 20% more power efficient than the previous Snapdragon S3.

And, even though the Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy S 3 use Pentile technology, the resolution on both of them are 720x1280 HD, and compared to the 480x800 on the Galaxy S 2, it is an improvment and only someone with a trained eye can tell that it's using Pentile.

The Galaxy S2 is outmatched in every category.

this guy must be insane for making that statement about the screens of the 3 phones compared to galaxy s2. Havent u seen by now that htc one x super lcd2 is unbeatable at the moment? Go to a store pick up an htc one x put it side by side with your galaxy s2 and whatch how easily u will throw your galaxy out the window.

Quadrant standard... the HTC One X is 4000+ and the Nexus is just 2000....

Sorry guys but the International GN only has 16gb which is not expandable. I could not live with this and sold it although it was IMHO the nicest handset until the One X. One X is superior in all respects except maybe to hold, I have no issue with holding it but accept the GN is a tad nicer to hold.

Post the software upgrade to the One X to 4.0.4 and Sense 4.1, no contest not even the SGS3 is saying anything, especially with its ultra poor build quality and Quality Control issues!
