HTC HD7 vs Apple iPhone 4
0. phoneArena posted on 18 Nov 2010, 08:26
Another year, another new iPhone, and also another new gargantuan HTC phone sporting a Microsoft mobile platform. With that in mind, it's only natural to pit latest the iterations of each smartphone against one another...

Okay, this is the limit. I used to love this website, but nowadays all you people are doing is lavishing superlatives on Apple products. When comparing browsers, why doesn't the article mention Flash support? And about video playback: Can the iPhone play XviD/DivX videos without converting first? No, it can't. And you guys just ignored the fact. Your site sucks -- at least, the "X v/s iDevice" reviews sure do. Grow a pair of balls and throw the rest of the money Jobs paid you on his face. You've sold your integrity, your reputation, to the Devil.

WP7 doesn't support Flash, HTML5 and Silverlight. iOS devices do support HTML5, though. So, your reasoning is invalid.
Phonearena is one of the most credible phone review sites in the web. If you can't accept that Apple make great devices that the mainstream media and average consumer like, you can't be helped.

I look forward to the match up between iPhone 4 and the Samsung Focus. That should have been the first VS match up between iOS and WP7.

What's special about the Focus? Isn't it basically the same as the HD7?

No. The areas that the HD7 stuggled to keep up with the iPhone (like screen quality and hardware size) should switch over to favor the Focus... or at least equal it. The Focus uses a SAMOLED screen while the HD7 uses a regular LCD... SAMOLED beats iPhone's Retina Display any day of the week... its black levels are superior and colors are richer. The Focus also has a better battery in it than the HD7 and should prove to be on par if not better than the iPhone 4 and its thickness and weight is right their on iPhone's level but has a bigger screen to play with (3.5" vs 4").

I have both phones. The iphone 4 is a super piece of kit and if I'm honest it is probably the best overall smart phone I've used to date but it has had time to mature. The software on the HD7 works well but it's not mature and not quite complete (it was probably released early to catch xmas sales). The exciting thing for me about the HTC HD7 is the pending Flash support and what future Windows Phone 7 updates will bring (copy & paste, better landscape support etc). These I think will (or will not) make the HD7 a great phone. Also although the quality of the HD7 screen is not as good as the iphone 4, I do find the larger size does make tapping on links, messaging and browsing the web more pleasant.

I have a hd7 and I must say I have been very impressed with its ability to hold a signal during a call and support a working alarm clock.
Two very basic features that the iPhone 4 has failed to deliver. With the iPhone coming in at roughly double the price of the hd7 (UK), these failures for me are unacceptable.
Take the rose tinted glasses off guys...

Now I see why Apple spends so much in marketing... thank God I´m an advanced mobile phone user and I don´t believe in such unbalanced match thing.

One thing to remember is that the iphone 4 costs close to twice what the HD7 does. Unless you literally have more money than sense it's a no brainer which to buy.

Wow, This site is ruined. how much money did you get to sell out for such piece of crap (iPhone). No matter how advanced the iPhone is (Which it is not really) it isnt a PHONE. and most of the apps are just pure crap just to toll up the app count.
the HD7 is an all-round champion, you know why? because microsoft and htc care about there customers. just wait and see how much apps will come for the HD7.

Rude comments, faceless authors, amateurs justifying their purchase, must be an on-line forum!

Well, Iphone 4 is definitely over priced, but it has better all-around quality, and easier os.
Htc Hd7 is great too and is cheaper, but most of it's performance fails compared to the Iphone 4, and the Os on Hd7 is not so user friendly
Additional: I don't work for Apple nor Htc nor Microsoft, don't accuse me of anything, it's just my opinion, no hating!
