HTC HD2 Review

0. phoneArena posted on 20 Nov 2009, 08:07

It´s now a year later and HTC is about to make their newest attempt at changing our view of Windows Mobile with the upcoming release of the HTC HD2. The new cell phone titan once again relies on brute force, although this time carries everything to excess, being equipped with a gigantic 4.3-inch capacitive screen...

THEY DO NOT base the score on the indviidual ratings. Stop wasting your time averaging the scores, it is pointless.

The phone itself is pretty ugly. Looks too much like a MID for my taste. Not to mention I don't have a personal taste for WinMo phones. I like the TouchFlo 3D UI they've got going on, but WinMo itself needs a bit of an overhaul. I don't see the HD2 pulling anyone away from their other OS preferences, though WinMo users will definitely love this thing. I still have no idea why the UI on the HD2 is referred to as the Sense UI. Sure, it's Sense on WinMo, but it was called TouchFlo 3D 2.0 on the Touch Pro2, Imagio, etc.... and it's the same UI referred to as TouchFlo 3D 2.6.

Looks great so far with 4.3" capacitative screen, 1ghz cpu and so on, BUT... what is the SAR on this thing?

17. Kiltlifter posted on 23 Nov 2009, 23:55

10, using it kills puppies and kittens i promise.... Truthfully though... the SAR rating is only related to data/voice connectivity, and ignorant people blow that figure waaaaaaaay out of proportion. If it passes the FCC, it will be well below anything that could come close to harming a fly with radio waves. The FCC may suck hard when it comes to massive over censoring, but there is a method to the madness.... well at least a small fraction of the time.

This phone is lusty! More proof that smart phones don't begin and end with the iphone.

Had this unlocked phone on T Mobile. Unbelievable size for a phone, too big for my taste. Camera had the pink tinge problem, maybe it'll get fixed when T Mo gets it.

T-MOBILE JUST CANCELLED THE HD2! JUST KIDDING!

I'm trying to decide between Nexus 1 (Don't like the camera and no office edit app from scratch) Omnia II (not as fast?) and HTC HD2 (not the best camera and more expensive). So which of the three would you people buy/recommend. Looking for a good camera and edit documents mostly Thanks in advance for the replies

The Omnia 2 is amazingly slow compared to the HD2 and Nexus One. Both the HD2 and N1 can edit documents well. However, the HD2 has a bigger screen, which would make this easier.

Touch pro2 is also good for documents =]
