Ladies and gents, it is time for another camera comparison between the top smartphones in existence. And without a doubt, all eyes are on the Sony Xperia Z, which is equipped with the company's new Exmor RS camera sensor. With 13 million pixels and perks like HDR video mode, Sony's top-of-the-line handset should be a great performer, but will it manage to beat the fierce competition?...

Simply it's the only one with the correct White Balance avoiding the yellow tone created by the artificial lighting...
If I dont know what I'm doing I can make my DSLR photos worse than those.

i don't see the superiority over competitors. Not enough to justify the whole buzz around its new sensor. I wonder why the bashed Lumia 920 again, even though it has got the best low light performance. In this article it looks like someone would took so bad pictures on purpose just to show how insignificance Nokia became.

when it comes to camera nokia 920 steals the show,but in this comparison the picture taken with the nokia 920 looks dull when compared to other phones

A lot of Samsung haters here, must be butt hurt HTC and Sony fans. Ever stop to think that the results might be different this time because both of the shoot outs were done in different environments and a different time of the year/season? LOL
A simple case or screen protector is all it takes to affect the ambient light sensor and affect the image quality on auto white balance or anything auto. The GS3 camera uses almost exactly the same sensor as the iphone 5 it is a great camera period.

the only light sensor affecting white balance is the camera sensor. the ambient light sensor that can get covered by a screen protector works on adjusting the display brightness, not the image white balance. i assume you don't actually mean you are putting a display screen protector on your camera lens. i assume we're talking about back cameras here.

i'm sorry tit but given the context of the discussion here, the screen protector you're referring to is one that covers the front part of the device. we're not talking about a yota phone here that has displays on both back and front. quit being pathetic trying to defend your indolent argument. you don't havef to defend your idol samsung because it's quite obvious in the comparisons here that they are ridiculously winning even against the supposedly topnotch lumia photos. this is phone arena after all.

What is going on with this site and Lumia 920 photography?
These results are not at all what I'm getting when I use my 920. I know the 920 camera isn't amazing, but there's either an issue with this unit or the photographer has no idea what they're doing. In fact, I have to question whether or not the camera button is being used (correctly) or they're touching the display (which would really throw off the results depending upon where you touch). I don't trust these kinds of reviews on this site at all anymore.
Something is going on here...

I have to give you that. Out of the blue SAMSUNG cameras became the best and wow. The rest, like 920 which is the truly champion in LOW LIGHT and VIDEOS thank to OIS, turned out to be runners-up. How so??
Just to show how great is samsung and how shi^&% the rest, icnluding L920, are.

ha ha ha...so many samsung haters...first of all that review is base on the reviewers opinion, he post the shots so its up to you which one is the best...second yes iphone5 & samsung get thier sensor from sony but its only half of the story, software also play part on how pictures came out...i think xperia z software aint tweaked yet to maximize its new sensor

It's not about hating Samsung (personally I love Samsung), it's about a correct judgment on the photos. It's not serious if you say:
- Lumia couldn't get the colors right at night (they're the most correct)
- muddy details seen in their photos: has the Lumia the firmware pr1.2? if not all the review in respect to Lumia is incorrect (either in colors and detail)
I had Sony phones and Sony cameras and impossible to be worse than Samsung, they made a fabulous job in respect to image.
So... really don't understand this review.

i would it put the nexus 4 instead of the galaxy note 2 which is the same as gs3 and would it add the one x that for some reason on this pages, dont like to include it as a power phone that still is.

sammy phones are pretty good as an allround phone.... but this review is really bad... even my friend is Sammy fan even he doesn't fi8 about camera quality... ... i own a nokia 808 so i won't ask to compare it here.....since it will smoke everybody...... either have sammy paid them or he is a sammy fan.. since after seeing a number of camera shootouts here... now they are claiming that sammy is better but results says something else.... ask somebody who knows to click the photos and unbiased abt phone companies.......

Ok, Reviews are an Opinion, they posted the pictures so you can decide for yourself, the actual review is just a guide, Same thing as Actual Camera Reviews some people think Nikon are better while some say Sony, I mean we all have different eyes for crying out loud,

Not even gonna bother reading this. Owned the iP4s and iP5, S3, One X+ and still own the Xperia T (white), Nexus 4 and the One X+. Best pics ever taken on any of them, is using the Xperia T.........In truth, if you want a camera, go buy one and stop using your phone as a substitute. I have played with this phone in 3 store here in the UK and damn.....all I can say is GIMME!!

I am curious about how shutter speed and burst works, I find that as good as most are, you have to be pretty still with all of them not to get any blur. With how quick the shutter works on the Z, I think everyday usability might be better than most.

You lost the rest of your credibility PA. in one review you dare to say that the Lumnia 920 has got exquisite low light performance and none phone can even think to try to match it, and in the next one it becomes only decent!
The beauty is in the eye of the beholder but you should do what it takes to make ratings and conlusions more coherent.

samsung photoes are whitish and others having good color depth.........samsung photoes are brightest here which is not better.....who the hell this phonearena 2 judge phones camera....what they know about photography.....from naked eye each photoes are better......every other sites said nokia 920 camera is the best they have seen and phonearena put it on lowest rank.........this shows ur love for apple and samsung..........for e.g ..look the color of scarf in xperia Z and then see on S3...which one u like ........more vivid.....xperia z......S3 is just the brightest here ...............

you know why they put canon in this comparison?? because as a "real" digital camera they thought canon should be produce the most accurate results.. if you see those pictures coming from those phones , you can see that the s3 & the note2 has the closest result to what the canon does ( specially on daylight time ) while the other phones tends to produce much warmer picture ( specialy the lumia 920 if i could say ).. it's not about which one has a brighter picture or punchier color.. it's about the one whose produce the closest result to the canon i think..
