Asus Transformer Book T100 Review

0. phoneArena 15 Nov 2013, 05:19 posted on

Windows 8.1 is finally spreading to the masses, but as we approach ever so closer to that crucial busy holiday time frame, we’re bound to see manufacturers competing against with one another on a more aggressive manner. Taiwanese company Asus is a familiar staple in the Windows front, having been a major player last year when Microsoft rolled out its long awaited new desktop OS. Targeting budget conscious consumers, the Asus Transformer Book T100 is one tough Windows 8.1 tablet to overlook – more so when it’s attached with an oh-so attractive starting price point of $349 including a keyboard dock!...

I'm a big fan of Asus, but damn... the screen could have atleast been IPS...I don't care about the resolution.... I just want contrast and colors....LOL.

This is great device for the price.

You can get the 64GB model for $359 from newegg with coupon (coupon code: EMCWWWS22).

Amazon is selling the same 64GB model for $379.

I really wish the tf701t came with Windows8.1 instead of Android. As much as I love Android I need a full pc. Guess it's the Sony vaio tap 11 instead. Budget wise this is great for people though. Good job asus..

I'm a little bit confused, maybe the folks from PA could help out. I was under the impression that this device does in fact come with MS Office Home and Student preloaded. I was under that impression because of the following sources:

asus.com/in-search-of-incredible/asus-transformer-book-t100/

microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/pdp/ASUS-Transformer-Book-T100TA-C1-GR-Touchscreen-2-in-1/productID.288728700

Could someone please clarify as to whether it does or not? And if it does, why the model you are reviewing here did not. Thank you

My fiance and I just bought this recently, it comes with MS Office Home and Student. It's a product code that's on a piece of paper that's in the product box. So idk if that's considered preloaded but it does come with it.

I gotcha, so even though it may not technically come installed on the machine it does come with the MS Office product. That's awesome. I wonder if phonearena just missed their piece of paper with the product code

How do you guys like it so far?

It doesn't sound like Phonearena did their research properly on the Asus T100. I mean the Baytrail Processor being a quad core processor was a big thing I thought when it was announced, but they got that wrong too. It has a great battery life. The screen is good for every day use even with it's low resolution. The colors are great because it's an IPS display. It's just a great tablet for the price. Ya it's not the fastest and it's not the highest quality, but for the price with Microsoft Office for free, it's definitely worth it. We have a desktop replacement laptop also which handles the process heavier task like video editing and gaming and for handling a lot of our memory. The Asus T100 doesn't have that much memory so I suggest getting an external hard drive.

My T100 came with Microsoft office and a key code. Pretty sure all 10.6 inch windows tablets and under are supposed to come with office preinstalled, but don't take my word for it.

"Sorry productivity folks, Microsoft Office 2013 isn’t preloaded with this, which means that you’ll need to obtain it somehow "

Mine had an activate code in the box for Office 2013... Maybe you didn't notice.
