The Alcatel One Touch 995 Ultra features a 5-megapixel auto-focus camera with LED flash on the back. Sadly, the images it takes are below average with colors tending to be unnaturally cold with a greenish tint. Images have little resolved detail and are a bit too sharp for our taste. We also wish you could disable the annoying shutter sound.

The rear camera shoots 720p video at 30 frames per second. It’s nice to see that the camera quickly and automatically focuses on objects while shooting video. And while we were disappointed with the quality of still pictures, video recording actually turned out quite decent. The mic filtered out noises well enough, and colors look punchier and more natural.

Alcatel is also including a front-facing VGA camera, which is great for video calls on apps like Skype.

Multimedia:

When it comes to media playback, the Alcatel OT 995 Ultra has one big advantage over its rivals and that’s the big, 4.3-inch WVGA screen. The handset played back 720p HD video easily. If you want to throw 1080p videos at it though, it won’t muscle them up. The speakerphone on the back backs up the picture with crisp and clear sound, but is a bit on the quiet side.

Don't you know the Idiom ''Don't judge a book by its cover''.

I would rather want a UGLY Phone with great specs, rather for a pretty phone with crap specs. one example would be the Lamborghini android phone. Phone arena don't rate the phone mostly by its looks, but rather its specs and how fluid scrolling etc and the build quality. If you say this phone's camera is ugly, i think u r too.

Plus, the camera's pictures aren't very clear. I try to clean the eye, but they are still not clear vs my husband's htc

you can disable spb shell 3d and have the normal 2.3 user interface and this phone will get 4.0 sometime this year or next year

Alcatel is NOT French. They sold it to a chinese company a while ago. Get it right please it's annoying.

My first smart phone. But the swype- every time I use an I it shuts down & won't let me add anymore words. If I go in and switch to regular keyboard & back to swype can sype again. Took it in they "rebooted" or whatever, lost everything on the phone & it worked. Now all the sudden today the Y is doing the same thing. Not sure what to do. I love the swype. Hate to take it in again & erase everything. The swype has no dictionary...not even "the, or," nothing. The regular keyboard has a dictionary. So every word I have to add to the dictionary in swype. It's almost like it gets to so many words & the letter stops working & with I & Y so close together wonder if in the phone somehow. Any suggestions
