Acer ICONIA TAB A200 Review

0. phoneArena 23 Jan 2012, 08:33 posted on

Rather than putting out something that’s going to be garnered as a cutting-edge model, the Acer ICONIA TAB A200 will instead target the other end of the spectrum by attracting those who are on a budget. Modestly priced at the starting price of $330, it’s obviously higher than some of the budget tablets out there, like the Amazon Kindle and NOOK Tablet, but then again, it packs a larger display and is backed by the full fidelity of the Honeycomb experience...

This tablet looks to fit my needs. My only concern is the low audio output. Would headphones improve audio output?

They must have changed speakers or something as the ones in my acer a500 have decent sound levels. It should be ok with headphones attached, my a500 sounds alright with dolby mobile enabled and the right EQ settings.

So like many others, I did a lot of research before I decided on a tablet. I started with the Acer Iconia A100 (7" tablet) And when I got that, I was really impressed, but it wasn't much bigger then my cell phone. So I decided to upgrade to the Acer Iconia A200 (I bought them at Best Buy, 14 day return/exchange policy on tablets).

This tablet is amazing. It does everything I want it to. I do not care that it doesn't come with an HDMI port, or the fact that it only has a camera on the screen side (you can take pictures of yourself basically) I have a phone with a camera, and a real camera too.

It connects easily to WIFI networks and stays connected. It has the full Amazon market, which was the number one thing on my list while shopping for tablets. I have had the tablet for 1 week now, and last night when I turned it on, it automatically prompted me to download the new Android Operating System, 4.something? 'Ice cream sandwich', the update probably took 20 minutes give or take.

For the money, this was definately the right tablet for me.

The only downside is that there are not a lot of accessories specifically made for this tablet yet. Acer released this tablet mid-januaryish i think, so not many companies have made cases and screen protectors yet. There are a few on Amazon, but I am waiting for some cheaper options to become available. A screen protector is a must, this thing fingerprints very easily!

*PS: for low price of the A200 if you're will buy it, I suggest you have to compare prices at: http://prices-comparison.info/Acer-Iconia-A200

Enjoy with your Tablet!

I bought this Acer tablet July 2012 w/o opening because this should be a gift for my son. Then when he used it for 2 weeks, it was dead, called acer for assistance and return the product. Then it came back to me with new charger. It was the power supply or charger that had the problem. My son did not told me that the same problem was happening over and over, an on and off problem since he was busy with his laptop. It was useless, never to buy any Acer products anymore. Very disappointing.
