I miss them. Everything is either a smartphone, or a candy bar. The few clamshells Verizon has kind of suck. Convoy looks alright I guess. I had so much hope for the GZone Rock, Casio really let me down. Especially the ones with a b/w old style LCD on the outside, kind of like a watch. You didn't have to open them up to see what time it was.

I have two convoys, have had them for almost 11 months . They are quite rugged, only thing they are not is waterproof. But they are good phones, and I work construction they they are more likely to get banged around. Again..................good phone

Yeah so do i. Everything now is a smartphone or touchscreen phone but mostly both. Every flip phone or slider or somewhat normal phone is crappy and feels so cheap bcuz it is. Verizon needs atleast one good flip phone. And the convoy is alright except that its pretty ugly and a bit on the fat side. It just doesn't look like a modern phone either. To me, the convoy would have been a pretty cool phone like 3 years ago. Also the screens on flip phones now are also smaller than they used to be or atleast never exceed 2.2'' which kinda sucks. No, really suck.

I agree with all thatare asking Verizon to come up with a modern clam shell that doesn't require a data package.
Does any have info on the Casio Exilim?

Would love to have a good clamshell phone with no data plan. I think they have gone overboard with the data plans.

I use a cell phone as a phone, period. Therefore I prefer that it work well and be as compact as possible. My current phone W755 is perfect, but getting old. I noticed that Motorola has newer versions of the W755, yet Verizon has not made available any new Motorola flips! Toyota & Honda are both good vehicles, but Toyota owners usually buy new Toyotas and Honda owners buy new Hondas, people in general like to stick with what they are accustomed to. Verizon has me now because I find their phone service to be better, but I keep looking at AT&T for their variety of available phones.

I totally agree...I'm addicted to my BlackBerry, but I noticed that Verizon isn't really favoring them so much anymore. I have no interest whatsoever in getting an iPhone or a Droid, so when I learned they have no intention of bringing the Style onboard, I made a beeline for Sprint. I've been with Verizon for a very long time & I love their service, but their latest "variety" just doesn't appeal to me.
It's a shame...

I have to agree with some of the others here. There really are no more good flip phones anymore. All the new Androids are rather large phones. I loved the form factor of the Blackberry Style but it's no longer headed for Verizon and there was zero mention of it even at the recent Blackberry World Forum. I'd love to see a compact Android flip phone or two! Not everyone wants a phone that's almost the size of a book. Come on Motorola, HTC, Samsung . . . you can do it!

one: more and more people are buying the smart phones over the basic phones. two: blackberry is awesome but due to lack of interest by the younger crowd more in favor of having a phone that does everything, blackberry just doesnt have the wow factor that people want. and to be honest they dont make them like they used to. i went through 7 bb storms in the first year. then i said screw this and got a droid x with i love it does what i want it to do. and THREE: the fact is basic phones dont make these companies any money at all... mostly cuz they sell them for free or under $50. samsung and lg are the only choices for flip phones hands down and verizon has a few great choices. so quit your belly aching.
