When is Sprint actually going to get a dual core 1ghz Android phone?

Lazzerus 30 Jan 2011, 13:06 posted on

I'd really like to know because I'm considering switching from Verizon to Sprint but, this is a huge snag. I have a Droid X and I'm not going to make a lateral move into an Evo or an Epic, I want it to be an upgrade.

@Lazzerus I'm currently w/sprint. After using the droid x myself then going to the evo 4g I can tell that for me having flash in the browsers made for an awesome internet browsing experience. I'm kind of addicted to it now & I wouldn't get a phone that didn't have at least froyo w/flash in the browser. To a lot of people thats really not a big deal tho.

@Lazzerus. I'm with ya buddy. I'm wanting to switch to sprint as well but considering all of the great phones (atrix, bionic, optimus 2x) all coming out on different networks, Sprint is really making me think twice. the dual screen Echo is a joke IMO and is more a publicity stunt than anything. yea awesome its an industry first, that doesn't make it a good idea. hopefully the MWC coming up on Feb. 14th will have a new dual core Sprint phone unveiled.

Agreed. I actually defended the Echo at first, until I read some "Hands on" comments on this and other sites. It seems to be a gangly, hard to operate, sharp edged "phone" made from cheaper plastic. Purely to get Sprint in the headlines. I am desperate to dump AT&T, and would love a reason to take my families buisness to Sprint becouse of the pricing options. But Verizon just has better phones coming, and I have promised myself I will go where the best long term phones are at. Sprint needs to give at least one solid option to bring in actual consumers, not just publicity.

I couldn't agree more. Sprint has until July (When my AT&T contract ends) to release a new solid phone, I might just head to Verizon.

YEAH, I AM A SPRINT CUSTOMER ALSO. SPRINT NEEDS TO BRING THE DAMN PRICE DOWN ON THE HTC EVO. IN JUNE IT WILL BE A YEAR OLD. THEY SEEM TO BE BEHIND THE 8 BALL, WHEN IT COMES TO NEW PHONES AND PRICING...
