Fantastic phone

the display is amazing ... dual core processor makes the phone very fast ... the sound not high but accepted .. camera is nice for 5MP .... high pixel density makes the display amazing ... the battery has a good life time ..... it's overall a very nice phone :)

A power packed small phone with great looks and ui....display is superb,camera good,illuminating bar excellent,battery average..android 4.0.4 runs quite well without any lags..dual core processor works well..and offcorse graphics r best...

Beauty and Performance, Best mid range smartphone

Xperia U has been with me for more than3 weeks. Looks like a practical midrange phone. Never hanged or caused a problem. The Photo and video quality at first was so bad but after an update it rectified.

Pros: It is very fast and response is excellent.
Display quality is excellent.
Comparatively slim and light and stays flat in your pocket (not slim and light as the Ray)
Matte finished back cover helps to get grip
Browsing web is a joy
Wifi and blutooth are very good
Video quality after the software update became very impressive
Very good photo quality
Impressive battery life (roughly 12 to 15 hrs for avg users)
3g network, video calling and browsing is impressive.
Satisfied with front camera

Cons: The glassy front portion tends to get finger prints and grease
The LED light has no notification function in the stock poduct. You havw to install it from the google play market. (free)
The 2 stage camera button needs some skill to operate. But it is manageable.
No infinite menu slide like samsung galaxy family. You have to install in separately.
Last but not the least- no SD card slot. only 4gb is available. A 50GB of free cloud space is available in "Box" and im satisfied with it. But it cannot replace an SD card.
Look Xperia ray for a phone with sd card slot. But in terms of speed and performance Ray is nothing in front of Xperia U.

Over all impression: Very good phone for every day use and a little bit rough use and abuse. Excellent for graphics intense games and taking photos. If you buy it you wont regret it, that is sure. Good value for money.

This is a wonderful mobile and integrated
The big screen and help games and internet and the interior space 6 GB beautiful and sufficient for the Games, programs, songs, videos, and photos .. Xperia U be very fast because he has dual-core Processor and the sound is beautiful and pure
And has an average battery
And an excellent camera, Sony has always featuring high-resolution camera and its price is very appropriate and inexpensive to this wonderful potential

XPERIA U is a great value Android phone for budget around USD 300. A fancy phone with illuminating transparent bar and exchangeable bottom caps suits best for those who like to mix and match the phone with their style. The main drawback is the limited storage and if you can't live with that better look for another phone. If you can live with that, this phone will not disappoint you either.

Build quality 9/10 Very solid despite being made of plastic. Design is good in my taste, boxy and very comfortable to hold. Matte finish is a plus.

Reception 10/10 The external antenna (the transparent bar) helps

Call quality 8/10 So so. Voice is clear enough but earphone's volume is a bit low

Internet 10/10 Good as far as android goes

Multimedia 7/10 Rich customization in music player. Gallery is pretty fast and the transparent bar lights up the colour of the most dominant colour of the photo. Video looks good with BRAVIA engine screen, though codec is slightly limited. Loudspeaker is disappointing as the volume is very low. XLOUD helps to increase the volume but make the sounds crackle when set to the maximum level. Lack of memory expansion limits the amount of multimedia contents in your phone.

Camera 8/10 Average but still manages to capture some really nice photos outdoors. Indoor photos are noisy and pink halo is clearly visible in yellow-lighting conditions (e.g shopping mall, exhibition, etc)

UI speed 8/10 Fast with some noticeable lag in the launcher, especially when compare next to next with 2011's XPERIA such as XPERIA ray and mini pro. But overall, browser and games run very smooth.

Everyday usage 9/10 Easy and comfortable in your hand.

Text input 9/10 Very goood. 3.5 inch of 16:9 screen may seems small for some. Typing overall is nice, stock keyboard is also swipe-enabled and multilingual.

Display 9/10 BRAVIA engine, very nice colour, super crisp. Touch is responsive too. The only complain is the white colour tends to be slightly yellowish.

Battery 9/10 Despite the 1320 mAh capacity, itt manages to beat the 1500 mAh of XPERIA ray . Battery drains quickly when you use for internet connection in 3G/WCDMA only mode. Standby time is pretty long

Pros

• Attractive design with exchangeable bottom cap and transparent bar
• Very good display
• Dual core processor with affordable price
• Front facing camera for video call
• Timescape UI is good looking
• Fancy music player and gallery
• Upgradeable to ICS (as promised by Sony)

Cons

• Lack of memory expansion, Users have to stick with the 8 GB internal memory: 2 GB for system, 2 GB for applications, and 4 GB for storage.
• Average camera with stiff camera button
• Low loudspeaker volume

Amazing Features Wth Full HD,5MP 720p video rec Quality. Stylish Shape wth led light below. More Customize Option found.@ everything wht mobile wants .What Else do u Need . minus(-) s no sdcard Slot and only 4 gb memory . (inbuilt&phonememory). if u r a game geeker dont choose this (coz of Storage limitations). & more important it s having only normal GPS . not GPS(point to point) or AGPS which really thz phone should have .but apart from tht thz s the best one i have. really worthit . . . and major (+) for thz mobile s processor . . . come4s as Mr.Speedy . . .

Great phone for the price

I'm really happy with this phone, I think is really good for its price. Overall, there are some features that I don't think that surprises me, but I was expecting more: the dual-core processor doesn't really make a diference comparing to the 1ghz processor single-core, the display has bright colors but it is not HD and it has no sd card slot which makes a limited memory for the ones who have lots of applications and games.

If u have a range of Rs16-18k then undoubtdly this is the best phone.With Dual core processor and 512 MB RAM u won't feel compromised in performance. The Nova thor chipset uses the 1320maH battery to work for at least a day.All the apps work fine and the display is the best thing in the phone(280ppi)..UI is very good and the transparent band at the bottom makes the phone super duper amazing..Music player is very similar to the WP ,so that's definitely better than the standard gingerbread.
Overall it is AWEEEESSOOOMEEEE ,,u'll love it.....!!!

Build quality 9/10 Scratch resistant glass and the body is also pretty good.

Reception 10/10 Amazing

Call quality 10/10 Excellent

Internet 10/10 Internet works very smooth.....just waiting for the update of ICS

Multimedia 10/10 Music inspired from Windows phone...otherwise gallery is standard gingerbread
