Way to Go Samsung!
I have had this phone since the day it came out, so it's been over a month I'm sure. I have also had all of Verizons touch screen phones, including their Blackberry (yes, I spend LOTS of unneccesary money on cell phones) and I would have to admit 1. that this phone has WONDERFUL touch screen sensitivity and response! Aside from the fact that I prefer the slide out over the flip open phones (LG etc), there is no lag whatsoever upon sliding keyboard down. 2. that the camera on this phone (as long as it is being held perfectly still, or when on a timer it is being set on a stable surface) has AMAZING clarity and quality. The flash can be a bit too bright, but I'd rather it be too bright than not bright enough!3. That the call quality is just as good as the best Verizon has to offer, altho the speaker phone feature is not much louder than using the earpiece, I guess thats why they sell Bluetooth, right?4. That clicking on apps like Facebook/Myspace connect VERY fast to the internet, within a second or two, you are on the desired page.4. That I would pay FULL price for this phone again if I had to! I reccomment this phone to anyone that has had bad luck with phones or touch screens, and wants a reliable and fun to use phone that functions perfectly.
Pros
- great reponse
- bright screen
- loud ringer
- camera quality
Cons
- battery life

Great phone will plenty of useful features.
The Rogue is definitely a great phone, obviously much better then the Glyde. I am coming from the LG Dare (which was also a very great phone). I really enjoy the entire phone throughout. It's doesn't lag too much when using it, usually just as much as any other phone. The camera is really great with a lot of features and the flash is almost blinding and the vanity mirror really helps to take a good picture. Just make sure that you hold the camera a few seconds after you hold the camera button. The display is absolutely amazing!!!!!!! Absolutely amazingly clear and so nice not to be able to see the pixels in the display. The slider works really well. It is smooth and quick to open the well spaced keyboard. Not the best designed keyboard I think but definitely works well once you really get used to it. The buttons light up really well in dark situations and the display can light up and entire room. Speaker is alright, not really loud, but works well in quiet areas. Bluetooth is exceptional, connects without entering passwords even. I really enjoy the displays use of colors. It seems like all the pictures and symbols are in high definition and even neon colors. Really fun to use and look at.If you text message a lot make sure that you set the keyboard to start a new text message once you start pressing buttons, such a great feature and saves time. The messaging is threaded and is IM like in that it allows you to reply to a message without hitting the reply button. just...

- Social Networking and Messaging
- Keyboard (once you get used to it)

Great phone but I have a few issues with web browser
This phone has many pros and only a few cons. I have had it 4 days now. The screen is second to none. I am very impressed with the display. It takes awesome pictures. When I am on 3G network , the browser loads fast and it is very user friendly. Touch screen is very nice as well. If you have big fingers like myself , you will need a stylish to touch the screen with. I was hoping it would be bigger since I have such big fingers but that is cool. The only issue I have with this phone is I can't browse certain web pages. I think it is a great phone but it is still not an I phone. My friend has an I Phone and the I Phone still rules IMO.
Pros
- Camera is second to none. Touch screen is very nice. Very nice call quality. Web pages load very fast when on 3G network.
Cons
- Can't browse certain web pages.

Damned good little gizmo
The Rogue is easy to use, and takes good pix. It's easy to transfer pix to pc, then edit. I took advantage of this to poke fun at myself to amuse people on my email list. It's easy to send your pix to other people's phones too. Most importantly, the caller reception and transmission is excellent. People I spoke to said I sounded like I was in the same room, and the people who spoke to me sounded very clear!
Pros
- camera
- call quality
- touch
- internet
Cons
- no wifi

Amazing phone...just a few issues
Overall I really like this phone. I upgraded from the LG Dare to the Samsung Rouge a few days ago and I do not miss the dare at all. This phone has such a vivid, crisp, and detailed display. The phone looks stylish and modern. The slide QWERTY keyboard works great and the speech to text feature also works very well. Surfing the web and performing other high end tasks is fast as long as you have good reception. On the con side, I've found that the battery life is somewhat to be desired. I like to surf the web when I'm bored or play a game and I can barely make it through the day without the phone dying on me. I am considering buying the extended battery. At the very least you are going to have to charge this phone every night. I also didn't like some of the menu options. In other phones you have more that one way to set a wallpaper or caller picture ID. With this phone there is only one way to do things and it is sometimes frustrating to have to try and guess which way it is.In the end I'm very glad with this phone. Hopefully Samsung will grace us with a software update to take care of some of the menu and customization issues. I would strongly recommend this phone to anyone.
Pros
- Vivid Display
- Speech to text
- Slide keyboard
- Great call quality
- Lots of features
Cons
- Short battery life
- Hard to understand features

Very Happy with the Rogue
I have had the Samsung Rogue for several days now and I am very happy with it. It seems very well-built with the exception of the battery cover, but once that thing is on it is on solidly.First and foremost I need a phone that works well as a phone. I live in a rural area where signal can be iffy and dropped calls are fairly common. The Rogue pulls in a great signal and calls have been clear on both ends. The AMOLED display is amazing! Everything looks crisp and clear and the colors are vibrant. It is also a very usable touch screen, even for a "touch newbie" such as myself. Very responsive! The menus are well organized and the widget bar is great for quick access to tools, games, etc. I am a little disappointed that the Rogue only has one display theme, but that is not a big issue for me. The ability to fully customize the home screen almost makes up for the lack of themes for me. The QWERTY keyboard seemed a little cramped until I got used to it, but now I'm finding texting to be a breeze! The camera is excellent for a phone camera! It definitely won't replace a high-end digital camera, but is great for everyday pictures. I love all the camera options, especially the macro mode.So far the battery life has been better than I expected. Right now I am only down 2 bars after a day of calls, texting, taking a bunch of pictures, playing games, checking Facebook, and just playing around with the phone in general. ...

Pros
- AMOLED display
- Easy to use touch screen
- Good reception
- Great camera
- Full keyboard
Cons
- Only one display theme
- Somewhat flimsy battery cover

Not Perfect, but...
As far as mobile phones go, the Rogue is as close as it gets to perfect. The touch screen works wonderfully, the colors are rich and vibrant and it has a user-friendly physical keyboard. I honestly have no idea why anyone would complain about battery life. I've charge this thing not even to 100% and it still only used one bar from a full days worth of playing through the menus, calling, texting, facebooking, checking email, browsing, etc. ONE BAR. The keyboard is kinda wonky, but that only takes some getting used to; once you do, it's as easy as any other mobile keyboard to use. The camera is excellent for 3MP, the best of any phone I've owned, the effects leave a little to be desired, but that's nothing to really worry too much about. Overall, a great phone. I upgraded to the Rogue from the LG Voyager and I'm glad I did.
Pros
- Camera is great
- Browsing the internet is fast and easy
- Texting is a breeze
- Touch screen is very accurate and responsive
- Rich, vibrant colors
- Completely customizable home screen
Cons
- No dedicated apps (e.g. Facebook widget just takes you to FB mobile)

Lots of Potential Chipped Away by Flaws
The Samsung Rogue is something of an enigma. It has a clear and bright AMOLED screen and the latest iteration of Samsung's TouchWiz interface. But at the same time, the battery cover is so flimsy---like some kind of stiffened paper---I was afraid of breaking it while attempting to get the latch secured. It's almost as if Samsung strove to include one flaw for every triumph.
The AMOLED screen and TouchWiz interface are a winning touchscreen combination, which is actually pretty responsive for a resistive screen. Dragging is sometimes problematic, but still much better than LG's efforts thus far. The main success in this regard is that Verizon has, by and large, left Samsung's interface untouched, meaning everything is easily touchable. Call quality is crisp and clear, and incredibly loud. But the speakerphone is abysmally quiet, while the included ringers are ear-shattering. Games too, are obnoxiously loud.
I tested the browser on several sites, and text was clear and legible. HTML heavy sites rendered closely to what a real browser might produce. This is a stark contrast to every LG I've had the misfortune to "use". There are still some problems with lag in scrolling, or losing pressure and "dropping" the page while scrolling, but these are forgivable.
Sliding open the keyboard presents a very tactile four rows of responsive backlit keys. This automatically orients the screen in landscape mode, and confusingly, rotates the wallpaper to match that orientation. Wallpapers...![]()
Pros
- No menu lag
- Vibrant screen
- Very clear calls and reception
- Great keyboard
- Better touchscreen
- Good HTML browser
Cons
- Flimsy battery cover
- Low volume speaker-phone
- Non-standard data connector
- Can't use phone as USB storage
- Huge!
- Verizon once again raped the UI
- Lots of missing config settings

If looking for Full HTML... wait.....
I like many have been looking for a new phone to come out from verizon with a full html browser. I didnt want something with windows mobile because thats more of a business type phone. I got this phone to check fantasy football scores, talk smack talk, and check some webpages here and there. The lady at verizon told me to get the 25MB plan saying it would last. 48 hours later i am 12.9MB's into my monthly data plan usage somehow. I work in a school where i get limited service during the day, my phone looks for serivce all day long and usually dies by the end of the day. I don't know how i put on that much MBs for jus visiting a few webpages the last 2 days. I would say get the unlimited plan but then if ur going to do that why not get a blackberry or why not wait for the iphone or something with WIFI to come out. Internet i found terribly slow no matter where i was. The browser lags, i think the vibration gives u false sense of touch on the browser. The zoom is OK, iphones is much better. The keyboard is average, small keys and kind of out of place. I am very un happy with this phone. I am bringing it back tomorrow and taking my old phone back and waiting for the google phone or the iphone. if ur looking for a full HTML browser, save your time and wait... i've been waiting since july, but i will wait even longer after this experience.
Pros
- Texting
Cons
- Full HTML browser lags badly
- Zoom feature
- touch response on browser
- battery if in a place where looking for service
- SAMSUNG
- small screen

Almost there.
I've had this phone since the day it came out, have to say it's a notch above the enV Touch. I originally had the enV Touch, but didn't like some of the design "features." This phone is an improvement to everyone of the cons I found with the Touch. The speaker is loud, and is on the outside of the phone. There is a button on the screen and on the side to turn on the speakerphone, instead of having to flip the phone up. The phone's lock feature seems to work better for me. I haven't pocket dialed anybody yet. The search bar doesn't automatically take over half the screen in contact list like the Touch, which is great.
The browser isn't nearly as good as I had hoped. This was touted as the first "Flash Enabled Browser" for Verizon. It even has a widget for You Tube. Well, it can't handle all You Tube videos! I was then disappointed that it couldn't handle Hulu. Other sites I had visited that played flash videos wouldn't work as well. Many other Java sites wouldn't work quite right either.
The widget bar is nice, but it would be nicer if it you could creat custom widgets, icons and all.
The one thing the Touch had over the Rogue is that you could play your music in a mini player while in other parts of the menu, such as the browser. The Rogue quits the music as soon as you get out of the music screen.
Overall, I am very satisfied with the phone,...![]()
Pros
- Very responsive.
- Good call quality.
- Great Bluetooth performance.
Cons
- The "flash enabled" browser doesn't play a lot of flash.
- Hulu doesn't work.
- Not all YouTube videos work.
- Can't add new widgets.
- Can't play MP3's while out of the Media Center

Awesome Phone!
This is a terrific phone. I original wanted to the Omina for the screen size and high speed internet but didn't want to take on a smartphone plan. This phone solved that problem!
I previously had a Glyde and was worried about this one being chunky as well, but it is slightly slimmer and with it's larger dimensions it doesn't feel too chunky either.
Another thing, I checked this phone out at 2 different VZW stores. The 1st said I'd have to drop my plan and sign up for a data plan (25MB / 75 MB / or connect). I said what if I already have VCAST, but they still say I need the new plan. So I ended up leaving. I went to another store a few hours later to check out other phones. When I asked the rep about it he stated I didn't need the new plan and was "grandfathered" in with my VCAST, hell yeah unlimited data for $15!
Games are okay, but hey, it's a phone not a PS3.Pros
- Screen size
- Sharp Images
- Full HTML
Cons
- None so far

Just like the title says, a super cool phone without the smarts. I brought as soon as it came out, ever since the fake release dates, I been waiting patiently for it, because this phone is just awesome and definitely worth a wait. I saw this from June, August, now September, I got it.
Pros
- Everything is good, specially the sensors that turn off screen when talking.
Cons
- no Self-Portrait for camera, only 1 display theme.

Enjoyable
Had the phone for about 5 hours now, and have been playing with it non stop. I returned the Env Touch on Friday, to go back to old faithfull Samsung. So far I love the phone, it did take some getting used to the layout of the keyboard tonight, but know that I have a feel for it, the keyboard works. I do prefer the EnV touch keyboard a little better, but now that I am aquainted with this one, I am happy. The screen displays a little better in the sun than the EnV touch. I couldn't see anything on the screen outside and at least with the Rogue and can at least see who is calling from outside. Also the Pictures do not display as crisp as the EnV touch did, at least with the inside screen of the EnV touch, but I did not buy the phone for pictures soley. Touch screen seems more responsive than the EnV Touch and the battery appears to hold longer. Website viewing is also nicer as it doesn't automatically display in a Micro font like the EnV Touch so viewing a webpage is readable on the first load with out having to magnify everything. The phone is fairly thick, but that is to be expected with a slide out keyboard. Overall very happy with this phone.
Pros
- Fast Responsive, easy to use
Cons
- Pictures are kinda grainy on the view screen.

Pretty nice so far!
So far I have had it for about two days and have been playing with it non stop. The phone layout is really nice. The menu is a cross between the traditional obnoxious Verizon OS and the Samsung Omnia style. The speaker is very loud and the touch screen has the nice feedback vibrate that I've grown acustomed to. Touch screen is very responsive and fast compared to my Voyager. My main concerns so far is the lock is simply a button on the side, instead of a sliding switch type like the Voyager LG family style phones. I for see butt dialing being an issue in the future. So far, this phone has met and even exceeded my expectations. I will update my review in 1 month.
Pros
- Smooth touch screen
- Slick Design
- Loud Speaker Phone
- Neat free dice app. like the iPhone
- No more standard Verizon OS
Cons
- Lock button is very easy to hit... butt dialing.

This phone is just an amazing phone. The AMOLED screen is very vibrant. The camera is great. Coming from a Versa is just a huge step up. Everything about this phone is good. The only thing I don't like is there is no micro USB port it is Samsung proprietary. This is just going to be a really good phone. Nothing lags on it. Theres a 3.0 mm head phone jack. I can't think of one thing wrong with it.
