The phone that shows what Android is capable of.

HardRic has owned it for less than month before publishing this review

This is a dream phone. Everything you wanted is here. There are very few cons, maybe some people don't like the plastic body, but I love it, because it's light, doesn't get too warm and it doesn't make creaky sounds. Oh, and one more thing: the power button, and the place of the speaker is definitely made for right handed people, and I'd like more the applications icon on the left in Touchwiz launcher.

Build quality 9/10 I have no problem with plastic, but nothing's perfect, so I give a 9.
Reception 10/10
Call quality 10/10 Better than any of my phones in the past.
Internet 9/10 The built-in browser could be a little bit better. (Fitting text to the screen, less checkerboard)
Multimedia 10/10 Best phone for videos, even in Flash. The music quality is OK as well, even the main speaker on the back sounds good and loud.
Camera 8/10 Greens are not like in reality.
UI speed 10/10 Fast as lite'ning.
Everyday usage 10/10
Text input 9/10 The stock keyboards are good, but I prefer Smart Keyboard Pro.
Display 9/10 Very not bad...
Battery 7/10 Yeah... the Li-ion batteries are not perfect for these muscle-phones, I had to order spare batteries.

Beat Phone I've Ever Had

Deicide has owned it for less than month before publishing this review

This phone has got to be one of the best if not the best smartphone out there. I recently got the Samsung Galaxy SII at Shenzhen, China(Guangdong). It is not a KIRF product. The store owner told me it was the last one, must be popular. When I opened the box and felt this was it. The Super Amoled + screen, Samsung's dualcore processor and Android 2.3.3 freshly installed. This phone is amazingly fast. The build quality is superb, some might feel that it feels cheap due to the plastic that entices the whole phone, as opposed to lets say Apple's iPhone 4 glass & aluminum casing, but I reAlly don't mind that much, it proves to be very light in my hand, my hand can hold this think forever. I lover the back as its a zig-zag like pattern that is anti-scratch, so.i don't have to buy a case or back film protector. I'm not a whole big fan of Samsung's modified Android OS, it really feels like iOS, a lot, there are few minor differences, but overall Samsung copied iOS' look. The screen for the Galaxy SII is amazing ultra bright, sharp, and crisp, almost matching Apple's Retina display, so very close,
not there already. The only 2 things that I have to complain about is the ventilation of the phone, it starts to get a bit warm after playing a game or two, it also gives me an alert.that i can't put the beautiful screen brightness all the way up to prevent overheating sometimes. The other thing would be that to insert the micro SD card you have to remove the battery first. GJ Samsung!

Build quality 9/10
Reception 10/10
Call quality 9/10
Internet 9/10 The browser is sometimes laggy to produce the page, might be the hotels wifi?
Multimedia 9/10
Camera 9/10 Nokia N8 has a 12 mp camera.
UI speed 10/10 Fast and snappy.
Everyday usage 10/10
Text input 9/10 The . gets in the way of the space.
Display 10/10
Battery 10/10

Pros

  • Android 2.3.3
  • Superamoled +
  • Dualcore
  • 8MP Camera
  • 1080p videorecording

Cons

  • Gets warm fast, no problems though with system.
  • Take out battery to put in Micro SD.

Excellent handset.

udi.shoshan has owned it for less than month before publishing this review

This is one of the best handset GSM, if not the best of all. Very responsive, very good display, and the Android OS is fine. The fact that the back cover is very thine plastic, is not a problem - any way, no one open it (almost) and when it is close it is rigid. And if you put the handset into protection case, there is no problem at all.
My only remark is the battery life .. it is Ok for one day (almost), but I'm using wifi all the time.. The Bluetooth RSAP, works perfectly with Mercedes car kit. !

Pros

  • Very configurable phone
  • Excellent display & Performance

Cons

  • Battery goes down too fast (when I'm using Wifi as well 3G) -Battery Does not hold full day.

Good, well designed business phone

Don has owned it for less than month before publishing this review

Best phone so far. I've come from the old Nexus1, to the HTC Wildfire, to the HTC Desire, then the SGSI, and finally the SGSII. What a difference! Specs wise, I don't know why HTC insist on such a small memory space for apps; the SGSI and SGSII both offer GIGABYTES compared to the HTC few hundred mb (not storage, actual app space). This so far has been the defining factor for Samsung: no messing about with app space. Even my SGS1 before app-to-sd features on 2.2 and above could handle many many apps no problem.

Build quality 9/10 Good build compared to other phones; but the gap between chassis and screen is already gathering dust particles. Should have been tighter fitted
Reception 10/10 Even in my home where reception is crap I get 2 bars. My wife, same network, has an iPhone4 and is lucky to get reception at all.
Call quality 9/10 Reasonably ok; though sometimes it gets too creative and muffles your voice
Internet 10/10 Solid connection; but could do with a better browser. Opera surprisingly good on this device.
Multimedia 10/10
Camera 10/10
UI speed 10/10
Everyday usage 10/10
Text input 8/10 Can be a bit gamey. But then this is a problem with all touch phones, so
Display 10/10 Unreal display. No issues viewing even in brightest light.
Battery 7/10 Although a common problem, I can't ignore this issue. The battery is abyssmal.

Pros

  • Darn good phone for the money
  • Extremely reliable data
  • Good email interface - not standard junky one
  • High build quality

Cons

  • Battery not good enough
  • Have to pop battery to change SD

I hate you Samsung, my life feels so complete now, there's nothing else to live for. Might aswell slit my wrist and say goodbye..

ahole has owned it for less than month before publishing this review

Coming from the original HTC Desire, I must say this is truly the first phone since that's blown me away.

I only just received it today and straight from the box I managed 5 hours of continuous playing around and setting up plus 10 hours standby. The battery was roughly 3/4 or 2/3 charged. Note that this was without a SIM card installed.

My Desire couldn't even pack in half a day with hardly any use, so yes, I am speechless in terms of battery life; shall wait and see how things are once I get my SIM in on a fully charged battery.

Love the Kies Air and Task Manager apps - the manager actually kills off Skype! :)

Everything else is what you would expect - mind blowing!

Now the bad bits -

Not very ergonomic; I can never seem to get a good comfortable grip.

Build quality; solid but still cheap materials, especially for a £500 phone.

And finally the screen size; I think 4" is as far as it should go.

Build quality 7/10
Reception 10/10
Call quality 10/10
Internet 10/10
Multimedia 10/10
Camera 10/10
UI speed 10/10
