Best smartphone with amazing display, unbelivable fast browsing, great games, very good call quality, perfect camera, lightning fast phone. And it is razor thin and very light. Its the vest phone you can buy :)
I also think build quality is very good.

Excellent handset.

udi.shoshan has owned it for less than month before publishing this review

This is one of the best handset GSM, if not the best of all. Very responsive, very good display, and the Android OS is fine. The fact that the back cover is very thine plastic, is not a problem - any way, no one open it (almost) and when it is close it is rigid. And if you put the handset into protection case, there is no problem at all.
My only remark is the battery life .. it is Ok for one day (almost), but I'm using wifi all the time.. The Bluetooth RSAP, works perfectly with Mercedes car kit. !

  • Battery goes down too fast (when I'm using Wifi as well 3G) -Battery Does not hold full day.

Samsung Galaxy S II is as easy to use as if you keep a conversation.
Very useful smartphone, you'll find it very accessible in lot of situations. I highly recommend it for it's utility, battery power, speed and build quality. It's up to day, both technological and durity and a cool design to keep you in current with the fashion.

Good, well designed business phone

Don has owned it for less than month before publishing this review

Best phone so far. I've come from the old Nexus1, to the HTC Wildfire, to the HTC Desire, then the SGSI, and finally the SGSII. What a difference! Specs wise, I don't know why HTC insist on such a small memory space for apps; the SGSI and SGSII both offer GIGABYTES compared to the HTC few hundred mb (not storage, actual app space). This so far has been the defining factor for Samsung: no messing about with app space. Even my SGS1 before app-to-sd features on 2.2 and above could handle many many apps no problem.

Build quality 9/10 Good build compared to other phones; but the gap between chassis and screen is already gathering dust particles. Should have been tighter fitted
Reception 10/10 Even in my home where reception is crap I get 2 bars. My wife, same network, has an iPhone4 and is lucky to get reception at all.
Call quality 9/10 Reasonably ok; though sometimes it gets too creative and muffles your voice
Internet 10/10 Solid connection; but could do with a better browser. Opera surprisingly good on this device.
Multimedia 10/10
Camera 10/10
UI speed 10/10
Everyday usage 10/10
Text input 8/10 Can be a bit gamey. But then this is a problem with all touch phones, so
Display 10/10 Unreal display. No issues viewing even in brightest light.
Battery 7/10 Although a common problem, I can't ignore this issue. The battery is abyssmal.

Pros

  • Darn good phone for the money
  • Extremely reliable data
  • Good email interface - not standard junky one
  • High build quality

Cons

  • Battery not good enough
  • Have to pop battery to change SD

I hate you Samsung, my life feels so complete now, there's nothing else to live for. Might aswell slit my wrist and say goodbye..

Coming from the original HTC Desire, I must say this is truly the first phone since that's blown me away.

I only just received it today and straight from the box I managed 5 hours of continuous playing around and setting up plus 10 hours standby. The battery was roughly 3/4 or 2/3 charged. Note that this was without a SIM card installed.

My Desire couldn't even pack in half a day with hardly any use, so yes, I am speechless in terms of battery life; shall wait and see how things are once I get my SIM in on a fully charged battery.

Love the Kies Air and Task Manager apps - the manager actually kills off Skype! :)

Everything else is what you would expect - mind blowing!

Now the bad bits -

Not very ergonomic; I can never seem to get a good comfortable grip.

Build quality; solid but still cheap materials, especially for a £500 phone.

And finally the screen size; I think 4" is as far as it should go.
