Great Phone

Lauren_R has owned it for less than year before publishing this review

I've had the phone for six or so months, and I've had absolutely no problems. It has great quality, long lasting battery life, amazing graphics, etc. I'd definitely suggest this phone. Most of my friends have iPhones, yet, they still long for my phone.

Build quality 8/10 I'd suggest a screen protector and case. Standard. Most phones aren't build for falls and things like that.
Reception 10/10
Call quality 9/10 Once in awhile, I'll have trouble if I have it on speaker, but other than that, perfect.
Internet 10/10
Multimedia 10/10
Camera 10/10
UI speed 9/10
Everyday usage 10/10
Text input 5/10 This is the only thing that bothers me about this phone. The keyboard isn't that good.
Display 10/10 I absolutely loved the graphics.
Battery 10/10 I was surprised at how long the battery lasts. I go to a vocational school for Technology, and I have a long bus ride. I use my phone constantly on my bus, and throughout the day.

Pros

  • battery life
  • good graphics
  • fast
  • s-voice
  • big screen
  • nice widgets
  • good multitasking
  • camera

Cons

  • text imput

galaxy s3 is the best Android phone launched uptill now we have tested it, built wise, specs wise, and UI wise there is no other phone which can match this beast.
The HD 720p @ 4.8" is amazing. Deep blacks and great viewing angles made my day. When watching an HD video, you just see how good it is. Every hair in the long-bearded old man is seen. The brightness is also very good, after setting it to max.

Multimedia:
Supports MP3, MPEG4, MPEG4-AVC, OGG Vorbis and WebM Video. Everything I really care about. Plus The Galaxy S3 has the ultra-handy Video Pop-up play, which lets you watch video clips and browse the web same time.

Okay..

mage1724 has owned it for less than 3 months before publishing this review

What is samsung thinking of to use such cheap hollow plastics on such a high-end device? No chance to beat any rival in terms of build quality. Reception and call quality is decent, internet is great because of the large screen. However, the screen has less pixel density compared to the previous model. I don't like all the "improvments" samsung has made to their interface, it makes the UI looks a bit cartoonish and old fashioned. Battery is decent enough. Design of the phone is a bit too round and i won't remember it for too long.

Build quality 3/10
Reception 7/10
Call quality 7/10

Multimedia 7/10
Camera 7/10
UI speed 5/10
Everyday usage 7/10

Battery 7/10

Pros

  • Good screen
  • Good multimedia capabilities
  • Decent battery life

Cons

  • Awkward looks
  • UI which Samsung ruined
  • Dissappointing build quality for the price

The Galaxy S3 is superior !

Technologov has owned it for less than year before publishing this review

The galaxy S3 performs past my imagination in every way possible !

S-Voice - makes me feel like this phone is from the future. First time in history I can speak with my own phone.
Samsung Smart Stay - proves that Samsung are capable of doing their own innovation and ground-breaking new features ! This feature alone warrans a large premium over any other phones for the S3.

Build quality 9/10 The phone has great battery, micro SD slot, a very nice buttons and easy to take from pocket and put it back.
Reception 10/10 Great call quality, 3G and WiFi signal.
Call quality 10/10 Great call quality, 3G and WiFi signal.
Internet 10/10 It has 3 great web browsers: Android browser, FireFox and Chrome. My favourite of the day is Android browser. You can't go wrong with either.
Multimedia 10/10 Supports MP3, MPEG4, MPEG4-AVC, OGG Vorbis and WebM Video. Everything I really care about. Plus The Galaxy S3 has the ultra-handy Video Pop-up play, which lets you watch video clips and browse the web same time.
Camera 10/10 It is good.
UI speed 10/10 Coming with a very fast processor and heavily optimized UI it is lightning-fast. Starting apps, scrolling docs and navigating menus is just natural with the Galaxy S3.
Everyday usage 10/10 This phone blows me away past my imagination. Everything is just there. Fast Internet, Multimedia, very responsive multi-touch UI. Great calls.
Text input 10/10 The phone can just guess my next word as I'm typing it. (using SwiftKey keyboard on the Galaxy S3)
Display 10/10 The HD 720p @ 4.8" is amazing. Deep blacks and great viewing angles made my day. When watching an HD video, you just see how good it is. Every hair in the long-bearded old man is seen. The brightness is also very good, after setting it to max.
Battery 9/10 The battery is a good one. At 2100 mAH it lives about 7 hours of heavy multimedia (video or Internet) usage or 1.5 days of simple cell-phone usage. On work days I typically return home with 25% battery remaining. If going to a trip, I take several batteries, and replace them. It takes just 1 min to replace the battery and reboot the Galaxy S3. No way to do that with competitor's phones ! Yack !

Pros

  • Samsung Smart Stay
  • S-Voice - makes me feel like this phone is from the future.

Beautiful, great reception, and crippled

crkbday has owned it for less than month before publishing this review

I want to love this phone, but it has been unacceptably crippled by Samsung. Fair warning that unlike the Galaxy I and II, you CANNOT move apps to the SDcard, you CANNOT run apps from the SDcard. It is a definite stepdown from the G II. You will want a 32G ROM version of the G III because of this. The external card is now nothing but a gloried mp3, pic and video storage unit. While many in my cirle had already jumped off of the Samsung bandwagon, I stayed on. Now I want off. Regretful.

Build quality 10/10 This seems to be as well build as my other Galaxy phones and they always took a beating.
Reception 10/10 This is the one thing, I think is better over prior Galaxy phones.
Call quality 8/10 Good, but not spectacular.
Internet 4/10 I don't like the way Samsung wants to manage connections. I want it to pick the fastest Sprint based network, but stop trying to make me connect to every open network out there. That is just asking for a virus or stolen information.
Multimedia 5/10 Don't care, so neither good nor bad.
Camera 7/10 Still have to take a small dedicated camera on vacations because phone isn't as capable.
UI speed 7/10 It certainly didn't 'wow' me given its speedy processor.
Everyday usage 2/10 Inability to use the external SD card for storing and running apps. I would have selected "0" here if the review had allowed it. Seems they are biasing their results.
Text input 7/10 Good but not all Swype features have made it into T9 Trace, so mainly just different.
Display 8/10 Nice but typical.
Battery 8/10 Not as good as Samsung claims.

Pros

Cons

  • Unable to use external SD card for app running or storage. External card is nothing more than an Ipod.

So Smooth

ckingt4 has owned it for less than 3 months before publishing this review

I've been so impressed with the camera and the speed of this monster. The screen is huge but it really fits well in the pocket. I Hate skins on android phones but touchwiz is ok, havent loaded roms because the allshare, buddy shot, pop out video are too important to use since my friends and wife have the gs3 also.

Build quality 9/10 Would have preferred a metalic more rigid design.
Reception 10/10
Call quality 10/10

Camera 10/10 coming from an iPhone 4 and a Razr its hands down the best I've used thus far on a phone.
UI speed 10/10
Everyday usage 10/10
Text input 10/10 Keyboard is sooo spacious.
Display 10/10
Battery 9/10 would have loved to see a bit larger battery, 2500 plus.

one of the best smartphones on the market perhaps the most complete handset
at the moment and with jelly bean it will be even better. u have a microsdcardslot, removable big battery. the connectivity with other hardware is just awsome for example u can connect ur external harddrive to ur phone or a gamepad (xbox360, playsation 3 etc). also samsung has tried to put useful features in. for example popup-play or smart stay.. and i think in the feauture even svoice will get better.. and thats way i think the s3 is the most enjoyable phone out there

the best smartph i've ever used i'll say i've used i5 but its not even close to the s3 in results , s3 is really the king of smart phones, its battery last me a full one week on normal use
and almost 3-4 days on full use, last i also want to say that build quality of s3 is superb its feel so soft and comfortable to hold it , i just love it very much much.

Great Smartphone!

whysoserious has owned it for less than 3 months before publishing this review

Totally satisfied with this phone! At first, I was doubtful about the huge size, but in the long run, I quickly got used to it. Same thing with the design which is a personal preference. It didn't work for most people, but it did for me as time went by. features, specs and battery life are amazing as well. The camera is so-so. It takes great outdoor shot with perfect color and superb brightness, but sometimes indoor shot turns out to have a lot of noise even if the room is well-lit. Overall, it's a great phone.

Build quality 9/10 Even with the plastic build, I like the brush finish and the extra plastic coating makes it more resistant to scratches.
Reception 10/10
Call quality 10/10 Very clear
Internet 9/10 Size of the screen is perfect for browsing. Fast and very responsive, too.
Multimedia 10/10 Music player is perfect!!! One of the things I loved about s3.
Camera 8/10 Good enough, but I wish it could have been better.
UI speed 10/10 No lags, really fast.
Everyday usage 10/10
Text input 10/10
Display 9/10 Good display quality. Plus extra fuctions to choose the type of display makes it more versatile.
Battery 9/10 Last more or a little less than a day with slight heavy use.

Samsung galaxy S3 GT-I9300 Unlocked, Stock Room, NO Root!

This phone is great. Very fast and good looking. The only thing is that it comes with a lot of preloaded APPs that I never use. I've heard non-Stock Rooms don't have these APPs that's why they are faster. Other than that, everything works flowless :)

The best Android phone I have owned so far

xtremesv has owned it for less than 3 months before publishing this review

The biggest letdown I had, when SGS3 was shown to the world, was its curvy glossy plastic design which in my opinion didn't match the hype surrounding the device. Then I got the chance to sell my SGS2 for a good price and my carrier contract was due so I went for the Galaxy S III International Version. The design is so-so but being the last Samsung flagship, it always catches people's attention. The build quality is average and far from superb. But the features that really make this smartphone a leader in its class are: an outstanding 4.8" display, not for everyone though because it may be too big for tiny hands. This device exudes multimedia performance, name it: music and video quality, photo viewing, internet speediness, gaming. The camera is a mixed bag though, taking photos is extremely fast but quality is just OK for a high-end smartphone, on the other hand, video recording quality is very good. UI responsiveness and smoothness are certainly better than SGS2 but there are times when minimal lag is felt, of course this is just me being perfectionist. Smart Stay and new gestures like the one to take screenshots are great. I tried S Voice like twice and concluded it is as gimmicky as Siri, useless in my case. Battery life is superior to any other Android smartphone I owned before (Captivate, Infuse and SGS2), I consider myself a heavy user and I manage to squeeze 12 hours from that 2100mAh battery, that is more than my previous phones which delivered 8-10 hours at most. Overall...

Build quality 7/10
Reception 10/10
Call quality 10/10
Internet 10/10
Multimedia 10/10
Camera 9/10
UI speed 9/10
Everyday usage 10/10
Text input 9/10
Display 10/10
Battery 9/10

Pros

  • Great display
  • Superb multimedia capabilities
  • Above average battery life
  • Smart Stay and new gestures

Cons

  • So-so design and build quality
  • Limited RAM for the international version
  • Minimal lag is still present

Great phone!!

fwinst has owned it for less than 3 months before publishing this review

I can't complain. I find the phone easy and fun to use. I have absolutely NO issues with build quality, and haven't had any issues with the glossy coating peeling. The phone travels in my pocket quite nicely. The one software issue I'd like updated is storage. I'd like to be able to have apps load to the SD card. However, with 32 gb of internal storage, and a 32 gb SD card, I haven't even come close to filling the phone.

Build quality 10/10 I don't want a glass body as it is too fragile. I keep my phone in my pocket, so I don't want a metal case that will get dented. I think the plastic is more durable. The glossy coating makes it look and feel top-notch.
Reception 9/10 I gave this a nine because of my carrier (Sprint). While I get great reception in and around Minneapolis, I traveled to L.A. this summer and the reception was spotty, at best. This isn't the phone's issue, it's Sprint.
Call quality 10/10
Internet 10/10 While I can't get LTE yet, I've noticed a significant improvement in internet over my HTC EVO 4G
Multimedia 10/10
Camera 10/10 LOVE the camera. Great pictures, no lag.
UI speed 10/10 No lag...GREAT
Everyday usage 10/10
Text input 10/10 Big screen = bigger keys = less mistakes for those with bigger fingers!!
Display 10/10 Gorgeous
Battery 10/10 I make it through the day with moderate usage. Here's the key...I CAN CHANGE MY OWN BATTERY!!! I always carry a spare

Pros

  • Big display
  • FAST!!
  • Decent battery life AND i can change my own battery
  • LOTS of storage
  • Fun software
  • MicroSD storage up to 64GB

Cons

  • Sprint's spotty reception in some areas
