i ordered the pantech crux and was wondering if even without a data plan i could go on the internet through wifi.

I was wondering the same thing. Anyone have an answer for us. I know there are USB thumb drive like gadgets out there, that claim to provide WiFi to phone. Will that work on Crux?

i have the pantech crux (only for a day now) and i tried the web browser since there is no data package for it and it comes with the 3G network. the internet works on the 3G but i just tried it to see if it works, i will edit this when i find out if you get charged for using it.

No. This phone is not wifi capable. You must purchase a $10/month or $30/month data plan. You can still access or use the internet/browser, but without a plan, you'll incur charges $2 per MB of use.
