worst phone alive.

This phone I had received for Christmas and the problems are never ending. the speaker stopped working after 2 weeks of use. my battery completely was shot and it said it was receiving charge but was not. it freezes all the time, i have had files gone corrupt, my spacebar on the keyboard is incapable of being used becasue everytime i hit it it exits my text. this is the worst phone I have ever had in my life, and I have gone through many phones. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE.

best phone ive had so far.
good features, good design, freezes up once in a while but no big deal.
for people not used to palm phones, the keyboard might be tricky at first.
im glad palm switched this phone to windows mobile. i dont like palm soft ware that much.
over all great phone.

treo pro 850w cdma

I just had the oportunity to purchase a new phone didn't know what I wanted then I ran acrossed this phone. the phone ever since I have had it has been an awesome time. never thought that I would enjoy such a phone.

Design 9/10
Features 7/10
Performance 10/10

Pros

  • I have the gps and sprint tv on this model. OMG!!! Awesome....texting is better then I thought, the options, quick keys, the best phone I've owned to date.

Cons

  • to be honest, the only thing that seems palm could have done a little better was the sensitivity between the stylus and the touch screen, the touch from your finger works better then the stylus on the screen. and the over size of the stylus could be longer in my opinion.

Palm Pro - Step in the right direction

The Palm Pro is as sleek and small as powerful windows mobile phones get.  I love the size and light weight compared to the Treo 700w I've had for 3 years.  It's about half the thickness and no external antanae.  Palm also replaced it's proprietary charging port with a micro usb port which is nice.  The connection holds good compared to the old port and it enables the phone to be charged via a USB connection to a computer or by plugging the usb in to the wall charger that comes with it.  The keyboard keys are slim and aren't as easy to type with as traditional Treos, but you can get used to it.  It also has a mini-stylus which I'm not fond of, but a minor issue compared to all the issues the 700w was having.  Lastly, as with all Windows Mobile devices, each carrier and device mfg write their own plugins and modifications to make WM "theirs".  Some of them are nice, such as the touch screen disabling while you are on a call, but others are lacking.  There are no photo contacts unless you buy a third party program.  When you type a contact's name, a screen comes up with your contact list, but it's always in black as shown in the photos on this site regardless of your theme.  So you might change your theme to the normal WM Blue or Green theme, but the customizations that Palm made still show in black making it look out of place and cheesy.  Lastly, Sprint has the Wifi / Bluetooth notification at the top of the today screen...

Design 9/10
Features 9/10
Performance 9/10

Pros

  • Sleek design; lightweight. Works fast, e-mails arrive almost instantly even when using pop3. usb charger. wifi/gps/bluetooth. Conversation mode in Texting.

Cons

  • keyboard takes getting used to; Palm/Sprint customizations aren't as good as the Verizon 700w. themes don't work with some screens (i.e. always white text on black background). today screen isn't as robust as other variations of WM.

I am Very satisfied with my Pro I am not having nearly the amt of problems I had with my 800 there are a couple of gripes i have with the ergonomics you cant change the basic contacts and internet shortcut butns and when your in the Mesg program and try yo creat a new txt it list the types: video, picture, sms; which isnt a big deal but its highly annoying when you send far more sms so why isnt it 1st you have to scroll down everytime , when winmob phones rec txt it displays the txt at the btm of the screen which you can respond directly from that msg BUT on this phone every msg you respond to in this way is never taken off as an unread msg so lets say you have an entire convo jus replying with out actually manually opening the txt mesg program itself when your done your txt counter is going to show how ever manny txt the otha person was sending you as new unread mesgs and you have to open that one convo that many times to clear them out very annoying

Design 9/10
Features 9/10
Performance 9/10

Pros

  • Very eye catching
  • Far less problems than most winmob phones

Cons

  • just ergonomical issues where things are placed considering how features are used
