The GPS elaborates the indications for your vojage between 3 and 30 minutes: it depends on the weather and if you are surrounded by skyscrapers, etc... and it's totally free. The A-GPS can give you the indications instantly (20/30 seconds) downloading little text files from the network, so it requires an internet access. The files the A-GPS downloads are so little that their downloading's cost is 0.10€ max, only at the beginning of the voyage. So if you have to move from Paris to Berlin, for example, if your GPS doesn't work you can use the A-GPS which cost only a few €cents for the entire voyage! :D
