Nice phone

luknatalie518 has owned it for less than year before publishing this review

C7 + Anna, not only solves problems with S^3, but also provides good multimedia, good calling... Nearly everything is perfect, except for the fixed focus camera (it still delivers great shots, although I wish it has auto-focus).
This phone is MUCH easier to operate and deliver music from my computer, in comparison to the Apple brand, which EVERY SINGLE THING has to be done through iTunes... Annoying... Nokia is way better.

Build quality 10/10 Very compact yet sturdy :)
Reception 10/10 Signals from the operator are strong in most places.
Call quality 10/10 Clear :D
Internet 10/10 Browser 7.3 is good.
Multimedia 10/10 The photos app is amazing, and music playback is clear. Also, the media input is clean and simple.
Camera 9/10 It lacks autofocus... :(
UI speed 10/10 Great!
Everyday usage 10/10 Great!
Text input 10/10 Love the portrait QWERTY!
Display 10/10 Nice and clean AMOLED.
Battery 10/10 Average usage: 2 days per charge.

Pros

  • Nearly everything is perfect

Cons

  • No autofocus

Nokia_77 has owned it for less than 3 months before publishing this review

Nokia C7 is a solid smartphone for anybody. The build quality is fantastic and is probably one of the best. The display size is at the bare minimum of what a modern smart phone requires, but it gets bright and has vibrant color reproduction thanks to it AMOLED technology. Sadly, the resolution is low at nHD resolution of 630x360 pixels.
This phone is very solid, with its strengthend Gorilla Glass display and stainless sleel construction. An intergrated Ovi by Nokia app store and services makes for a great mid range device.

C7 is great for surffing the internet (with opera mobile 11), gaming, music and HD video playback with good battery life
camera is good but lacks auto focus so no micro shots but it has HD video recording with dual 3rd generation LED flash

Build quality 10/10 great build quality with gorilla glass make the screen so hard to break
Reception 10/10
Call quality 10/10
Internet 9/10 the built-in web browser is so poor but you can use opera mobile 11 instead
Multimedia 10/10 720p video playback and many codecs support
Camera 9/10 camera lacks auto-focus but it still get some good shots & HD video recording is awesome with dual 3rd generation LED flash
UI speed 9/10 still need some little improvement, can't wait for anna update
Everyday usage 10/10

  • good build quality
  • compact size
  • great gaming experience and HD games

C7 is good phone
The Nokia C7, on which the Astound for T-Mobile is based, has NFC capabilities for mobile payment, remote access and info gathering, and was even used for this at the CTIA 2011 show. 500 Nokia C7s were available for attendees to use with the bCard Reader technology, which allows for scanning their ID tags when networking. You can read more about NFC in our article here.

The Nokia Astound (our hands-on here), will have the NFC chip also, but you will have to manually turn it on in the interface, for some reason:

"The Nokia Astound includes an NFC chip and the device software supports its functionality. The Astound will ship with NFC turned off, but a user can enable it by entering the device settings and turning it on."

We guess that's to prevent unnecessary battery drain if the chip was on by default, since there is not a whole lot you can do right now with NFC. Apple, Google, PayPal, and the carriers with the ISIS project, are all doing trial runs for their NFC payment systems, but the CEO of VeriFone says most of these won't enter our everyday lives before 2012, although this year will be pivotal for the NFC-related ventures in the US.

Still, with the NFC capabilities, and the recently announced live traffic updates for the free offline navigation on the slim Nokia Astound, $79.99 is becoming a very decent price for this handset, if you can stomach Symbian, although the Astound comes with the newest version that features updated browser and portrait QW

NOKIA C7 - Mr.Perfect

innovativesurya has owned it for less than month before publishing this review

nokia c7 , he second Symbian^3-powered device is a perfect all rounder . the phone of lots of features and 95% satisfy the user expectations. people might say android is better than symbian , but symbian too have some extra ordinary features which they unaware of it. one can all necessary things in ovi store , which provides you great support. if you have belief in nokia , then C7 will never let you down.

Build quality 10/10 It is just a slimmer & simpler and very pleasant to hold.the 10.5 mm thickness is very impressive. overall the the phone feels very solid even if it’s not mostly made of metal.
Reception 10/10 in terms of reception , it can find signal in low network coverage places.
Call quality 10/10 presence of two microphones gives clear calls along with noise cancellation .
Internet 9/10 the built in browser has multi-touch and FlashLite 4.0 but operates little slower .my opinion is get the latest opera or uc browser for surfing an d just use the built browser to access Flash content.
Multimedia 10/10 it has better file manager and image gallery. supports lots of video formats like divx/xvid , wmv, mp4 ,3gp etc and also supports hd videos . the video player is very impressive & there is no need of any conversion.
Camera 9/10 no autofocus.the 720p video recording @ 25fps is awesome .
UI speed 10/10 the Symbian^3 os provides a consistent user interface. just a soft touch is enought to click the icon .
Everyday usage 10/10 once get it , u will find lots of usuage .. the ovi store is a big support .one can get most of the neccessary thing in ovi store.
Text input 10/10 qwerty keyboard available only in landscape mode.the error correction
Display 10/10 compared to other smartphones , c7 has the minimum display of 360 X 640 px . the amoled technology adds beauty to the display and supports 16m colours.
Battery 5/10 battery life is not upto our expectations.. must recharge our battery everyday..battery life is the major disadvantage of this mobile.

Pros

  • physical look
  • user interface
  • hd video camera
  • supports xvid/divx
  • usb on-the-go
  • bluetooth v3.0 is better fast
  • Great sound quality from the headphone jack
  • AMOLED screen with CAPACITIVE touch
  • Gorilla display

Cons

  • poor battery life
  • no autofocus

Migrated from a Nokia N95 which I had for 3 years, still rock solid, but out dated. I'm very happy with the touch screen, HD video quality of the camera and the operating system. Had some issues when I first started to use the phone, battery life, processer speed and so on. But after using fro a while the phone came back alright. May be the updates helped as well. I'm loving it at the moment and I think it's a keeper.

Nokia c-7 is a beautiful and durable, compact smartphone . I just love to use Nokia c-7.The critics of Nokia Fons never use Nokia , i think they con"t afford decent phone. he phone has a lot of multimedia functions that will rock your world. Ovi maps is awsome since you can use it when offline. I'm glad that Nokia is not apart of the Android wagon. Otherwise there would be a very narrow selection in the smartphone market.

Had been using this smart phone for about seven months now. Did have some problems initially with the messaging, not anymore thanks to update PR1.1

For a phone that can do a lot, processor shud have been more. Install your apps only on mass memory or removable memory card. Installing onthe phone memory will not leave enough space for ram usage.

Good phone. Go for it.

Great mid priced smartphone, with more features than some high end phones

Nokiaonly has owned it for less than 3 months before publishing this review

This phone is very solid, with its strengthend Gorilla Glass display and stainless sleel construction. An intergrated Ovi by Nokia app store and services makes for a great mid range device.

Nokia smartphones have some of the best connectivity options of anyone else. Included are built in TV out, without an HDMI port from the 3.5mm AV/headphone jack. Send and receive files such as pictures, videos, and apps over bluetooth 3.0 to another capable phone or computer. Read the data from another phone or USB memory stick and play back all the music and movies you want, without a computer, with a USB on the go cable. HD Divx and Xvid, MPEG-4, MP3 files, etc. play back smoothly on the phone. The phone has a dedicated GPS receiver to offer free turn by turn voice navigation, even without a data plan or cellular service plan. The 8 mega pixel camera takes great daylight photos, and decent night photos with the dual LED flash. It can record 720p HD videos. The phone has a Pentaband antenna, which allows it to be used 3G around the world, or on any SIM card cellular service provider. It can share it's internet conection through WIfi, USB, or bluetooth. It can play the latest 3D games such as Angry Birds and Need for Speed Shift HD. Up to 3 customizable homescreen for all your shortcuts, apps, games, social networks, news, and emails, etc. The glass display is a capacitive, multitouch, pinch to zoom AMOLED.

Overall, a modern smartphone that will not disappoint.

Build quality 10/10 Glass plus stainless steel integrate with the plastic for solid build quality
Reception 9/10 Phone can find a signal even in poor receptoin areas. Hand placement can sometimes impact performance.
Call quality 10/10 2nd mic for noise cancelation produces clear calls
Internet 8/10 Pentaband for worldwide 3G. B, g, n Wifi makes for great connectivity. The build in browser plays youtube videos without needing an app, but the browser overall is slow.
Multimedia 10/10 Plays all sorts of video/audio formats, including divx, xvid, mpeg-4, wmv, mp3, aac, etc., out of the box without having to convert it first. Built in 8GB plus the ability to add a 32GB micro sd enabled lots of entertainment.
Camera 8/10 The 8 mega pix camera is great for daytime shots, and the dual LED flash makes decent night/dark shots with little noise. It lacks auto focus and fancy lens as other Nokia devices which decreases it's potential. 720p HD recording is a plus.
UI speed 8/10 The OS is very stable with lots of functionality, but the user interface suffers when fancy animations and effects are turned on.
Everyday usage 9/10 Transfer files over Bluetooth 3.0. read and access other devices memory via USB on the go. Free Unlimited Voice navigation. Large host of multimedia capabilities. Connect mouse and keyboard to phone, and phone to external display for a mini computer. GPU for playing latest 3D games available on iOS and Android. Too much to list, but the phone has something for someone, everyday.
Text input 8/10 The software keyboard has error correction, which is a plus, but there is no physical keyboard. Until the future updates, the phone has to be used in landscape mode to enable a full keyboard.
Display 9/10 The display size is at the bare minimum of what a modern smart phone requires, but it gets bright and has vibrant color reproduction thanks to it AMOLED technology. Sadly, the resolution is low at nHD resolution of 630x360 pixels.
Battery 10/10 The battery is rated at 1200 mAH, but it just lasts. The active CPU optimizations and AMOLED screen increase batery life. If you stuck without a charger and running low, a power saving feature is available to help it last longer.

Pros

  • Gorilla Glass AMOLED display
  • T.V. out from the 3.5mm AV jack
  • 8MP camera with 720p recording
  • Battery Life
  • Free Voice Navigation
  • Pentaband - Worldwide GSM 3G
  • USB on the go
  • Thin but very sturdy

Cons

  • Low 640x360 screen resolution
  • User interface not updated till summer '11
  • Web browser loads pages a little slow

Best Phone I’ve got so far, Solid & sleek design, brilliant camera apart from the lack of AF, Games is just amazing, Although there is several issues that I believe will be solved with the new firmware R2.00. .

Great phone and will get better and better as shown by the recent PR 1.1 update. Quality and features are brilliant, just camera could be a bit better. iOS is too limiting, Android puts all the content of your PC and Cell Phone in the hands of Google and WM7 is well, out of the game I guess, at least in the current version. Som despite many may object, I still believe Symbian is the way to go, has al the stuff I need and finally starts to catch up with the lot.

Nokia Compact Smartphone!

Nokia C7 is a solid smartphone for anybody. The build quality is fantastic and is probably one of the best. The phone has a lot of multimedia functions that will rock your world. Ovi maps is awsome since you can use it when offline. I'm glad that Nokia is not apart of the Android wagon. Otherwise there would be a very narrow selection in the smartphone market.

Worst ever, RETURNED it back after 1 day, couldn't tolerate:
Very bad battery,
Auto-rotate feature stuck most of the time and needs phone re-booting.
Can't use QWERTY keyboard at plenty of times because the auto-rotate stuck.
Symbian 3 has nothing new to offer
Same boring user interface.
Way below expectations
