Accessing device storage after Jelly Bean update

am i the only one who can no longer access the internal storage or sd card after the jelly bean update? before i could connect a usb cable and transfer files at will. now i have to power phone off, find sim card removal tool (since sd card fits in same tray), put the sd card in another adapter and THEN transfer files. i think i'd rather just have ICS back.
