excellent phone!
this phone is great. i have had it for a week. the touch screen work wonderful, very responsive. i love the detachable keyboard. the keys are just the right size for me. i don't know why some don't like the brown "leather" look. i like it, it make the phone look like a small appointment book. i like nearly everything about this phone. there is only one problem. if you take a lot of pics, this is not the phone for you. i don't much care for the camera, but i also haven't played around with it alot. haven't taken any really good pictures. anyone has any advice for me on this please let me know. the 3 different home screens are a plus too.
all in all this is a great phone, i highly recommend it. but don't take my word for it, go to a verizon store and take one for a test run.Pros
- detachable keyboard
- 3 home screens
- awesome touch screen
- the 'appointment book-look"
Cons
- camera could be better

Great phone, best i've had from Verizon
This phone is great. I've never had a touch screen before but my mom and girlfriend have the Voyager and the Dare and this blows both of those out of the water. I came from an EnV and I'm very pleased with the upgrade. The UI and touch screen are lightning fast and responsive. Also being able to sort texts by sender if fabulous, it keeps your conversations organized so there is no confusion as to what you said or what the person you texted said in past texts. I haven't messed with the attachable module yet but it appears very well manufactured. I have almost no complaints with this phone, the only problems I've run into whatsoever is if you're in the browser and you dont zoom in far enough then the links donts always respond to touch. Also the calibration is not the easiest thing in the world, it seems slightly difficult to get right the first time around. But overall the phone is incredible. The one thing I can say is that with the Versa when you touch something it actually does what you want it to do, unlike previous LG touch screen phones. I would reccomend this phone to anyone that would love a repsonsive touch screen and with the best UI I've ever seen on a Verizon phone.
Pros
- Great UI
- Incredibly responsive touch screen
- Texts grouped by contact and time
- Attachable module
Cons
- slight difficulty with calibration
- some issues with responsiveness in browser (solved by zooming in)
- slightly narrower screen then I would have liked

Love it!
I have had the phone for about a week and it’s my favorite! It comes with a preloaded trial of Monopoly where you actually shake the device to roll the dice. I use the favorites menu all day. The phone is fun, but at the same time the browser and screen interface make simple functions like alarm and calendar really user friendly. I can't wait to see the detachable game paddle for the phone.
Pros
- Design
- Games
- Menu designs
- Messaging
- camera
Cons
- keyboard color

New Phone, New Review
Ok, as many of you have read, I posted a review earlier. I just got my new Versa after re-using my Voyager for a day. And I have to say that the Voyager is a huge DOWNGRADE. Now, I am using the new Versa, and everything about it is amazing. The different menu screens make a person with OCD such as myself very happy. Also, this being my 21st phone makes this the very best phone I have ever used. Today one of my friends received a LG Dare, and after using it, I found that it wasn't a smooth throughout messaging and such. So basically, the Versa is all around one of the best phones on Verizon.
Pros
- Design
- Games
- Menu designs
- Messaging
Cons
- Touch calibration is about hard to use.

I have had this phone for a couple of days now and absolutely love it. First, the touch screen interface is terrific. I haven't had any issues with it at all. I love the touch screen QWERTY keyboard. Personally, I don't care for the attachable keyboard because I think the keys press a bit too hard. However, if you like the env keyboard (which I don't) you will like it. The web browser has worked flawlessly for me. It's by far the best verizon web browser I have seen. I understand that some have had responsiveness issues in the browser, but I have had none. I have no problems clicking on links at all, although it does help if you zoom in before you click. I haven't tried the camera or music player yet, but those are features that I don't really care about. I have my own digital camera and ipod, so I rarely use those features on any phone. I am really impressed with the demo games. The Need for Speed demo game is a blast. You use the phone to steer just like you would a Wii controller.
Pros
- Touch screen interface
- Web browser
- 3 different customizable screens
- lightning fast interface
Cons
- none

Great phone, better than the dare
I don't understand the reviews calling this a 'poor man's dare'. First off, the interface is lightning fast. Faster than any touchscreen i've ever used. And it actually responds when I hit the screen. The same cannot be said for the Dare as well as other touch screens for verizon. As far as I'm concerned, the only difference I see between this phone and the Dare is the camera. Also, the ease of texting with the qwerty on the versa is unparamount compared to the unperfected technology of all touch-screens currently offered by verizon. I've been waiting for a phone that was touch screen but still had a qwerty that I could use efficiently. The attachment serves as a protective case for your large screen too. its also stylin.
you will love the menu system. So coolPros
- fast, responsice touch screen
- awesome menu system, best UI for verizon
- qwerty keyboard - no faulty touch screen texting
Cons
- battery could use more life

Excellent
The LG Versa is one of the best touch screen phones on Verizon's phone lineup. The phone itself is very nice, very similar to the Dare. With the detachable keyboard on the phone looks ok but not good but the functionality off the keyboard is excellent. The UI is on the Versa is the best on any Verizon phone, it very fast and has pretty cool animations. The 3 customizable home screens are also great. The music player way better than the Dare, when you turn the phone to landscape you can scroll through music kind of like the iPhones cover flow. The accelrometer is also great because it works on almost all of the menus unlike the Dare. The Versa is an amazing phone and i would say its an upgrade to the Dare.
Pros
- -UI
- -Music Player
- -3 customizable home screens
- -Flash support on browser
- -Screen is really responsive(except on browser)
Cons
- -touch screen is sometime unresponsive, but i only found this on the browser

Wow.
This phone is freaking awesome. HOWEVER! The very first day I received the phone, it malfunctioned and doesn't allow me to call out, or send messages. Also, it freezes when I do not read a message right away. However, judging as this is a manufacturing problem, the time I have had with the phone has been great. The menu's and new features make the phone a joy to use. Overall, this phone is great.
Pros
- Features
Cons
- Malfunctions
- Leather case is awkward to use when not use qwerty keyboard

Versa is IT!
Got my Versa yesterday and I am loving it! The screen is beautiful and the case isn't as bad as some reviewers think. I love the add on QWERTY. It's so easy to type on. This is my first non-flip phone and I am loving it. LG sure has a winner. Anyone that says different is jealous! LOL
Pros
- Quality of screen view
- Size
- Design
- Setup
Cons
- None

Wow
I can't believe how powerful this standard phone is. It's probably one of the best phones on the market for the people that don't want to make a jump into the smart phone market. The browser is lighting fast and plays videos right within the window! I haven't seen even a smart phone do that... with tabbed browsing. I like to go out at night on the weekends. I love the fact that I can detach the keyboard and have a nice slim touch screen phone to put in my jeans. Then when I need the keyboard just attach it. The stylus is handy, but just dangles off the side so I will probably never use it. But picture quality for a 2MP Camera is unmatched and the menu is fast, fluid and breathtakingly good looking.
For those who didn't like the touch screen on the Dare and were thinking it still wasn't quite accurate enough. They have basically solved this problem with the new one. LG really pays attention to detail and the Versa is no different.Pros
- -Great camera considering 2.0 MP.
- -Fluid , extremely nice looking UI with several shortcuts everywhere.
- -Slim when you need it, or Add a slight amount of bulk for a handy keyboard.
- -Accurate touch screen
- -Tabbed web browsing with embedded video watching!
Cons
- -Leather cover around the keyboard attachment could of been higher quality.
- -Phone only comes in a really really dark brown with matching leather keyboard. Black should of been the option and people probably wouldn't have noticed the leather so much

Love this Phone
I just purchased this phone too! The phone is functional but the new add ons make it a lot of fun. I have held on to my env 2 until something really fresh came out. In the past I haven't been a big fan of touch screens, but I am glad I gave this one a shot. The games like Monopoly actually have you shake the phone to shake the dice. Just a little adds on but to me those types of things make the phone fun. I will be spending the next few weeks learning the ins and outs of my new toy! I totally recommend the phone.

A Must Have
This phone is amazing. I went to the store and bought it today, and it is absolutely stellar. The UI is wonderful, simple, and easy to use. You have different menus, Favorites, Shortcuts, Media, and (if you have a module attached) the module section.
The UI runs flawlessly, the resolution is wonderful, and the phone itself is amazing. The camera takes some awesome pics, and is very clear. The settings on the camera are easy to change.
The different menus are customizable. For Favorites, you put your most used contacts or your most called numbers. For Shortcuts, you put little shortcuts like on a computer, for things like the drawing pad, or a new txt message. On media, you can put a button that takes you to your favorite pictures, videos, songs, or bookmarks for the browser. On Module (for the keyboard) you have the options, New Msg, Notepad, Mobile IM, Browser, Email, and Calender. All menus have a row of buttons on the bottom leading to, Inbox (where you can change from there to Sent, Drafts, or Voicemail), leading to a dialing pad, to the Main Menu, and to your Contact List.
The browser on this phone is stellar. I myself don't have internet access, but I used the browser while trying this out, and it runs smoothly. It is fast, especially for a "Dumb"phone. It loaded youtube in a matter of seconds, and then loaded a quick 30 second video in about 6 seconds. The video ran smoothly, and didn't have to buffer during the vid.
The QWERTY keypad on the touchscreen is great. It has...![]()
Pros
Cons
- Leather design not that great, but not to bad

Wow.
Although I had just gotten the phone today and it is not exactly ample time to make a judgement, i think that I should just point out that this phone is AMAZING.
So far, no complaints other than the faux leather which looks like a leather pouch which I'm not such a big fan of.
The interface is basically flawless and actually fun to use.
The detachable keyboard is great to use, surprisingly. It's so much better than what I thought it would be. The keys are almost as great as the Voyager to use, but the only thing is that when the keyboard is attached, it's only practical to use in landscape mode.
The stylus is basically pointless, so just go without this.
Basically, this is one of the top phones right now on Verizon, and I can see it being a big hit!Pros
- User Interface
- Accurate touch screen
- Great QWERTY keyboard
- Pretty good camera quality.
Cons
- Faux leather design
