Camera is good

menkadias has owned it for less than 3 months before publishing this review

Camera quality is good. camera really works wonders. nice music. Browsing is faster in this phone. It is powered by a Qualcomm MSM7225 chipset that originally runs at 528MHz clock speed which is decently fast and performs better.

The touch screen is accurate and responsive. The UI is quick enough but can “lag” badly if a CPU intensive app is running. All my favourtie android apps install and run fine though (eg skymap, google maps, stock quote etc). I installed and tested the latest google navigation and it works perfectly – complete with voice generation for street names…

Great phone at great price!!!

Jut got one of these in Mumbai. Great value phone. These cheap mobiles are really going to open up android to the world's masses. So far very happy with the phone. Capacitive touch screen works really well. 2.8" screen is big enough.. means the phone is nice and compact. Only weak point so far is the camera... it's terrible. But otherwise, this is a fantastic and cheap entry to andriod OS.

Ideos U8150 got everything I want,

DeepaliSolanki1 has owned it for less than month before publishing this review

hello. I'm currently using Ideos u8150, the performance is good. to be able to track your phone, you need an antivirus with antilost feature. I'm using Avast Mobile Security because it is free in the market. earlier I used Kaspersky Mobile Security 9 but I have to state here that Avast is a better option.

After installing it, you will need to instal the antilost feature thereafter.

I wish this helps you.

Andriod Phone in Budget!!!

pawar.sandeep.46 has owned it for less than year before publishing this review

I am using Ideos since 3 days as my 2nd phone (got it from Zong). I have a HTC Desire and I have used HTC Hero too.

For people who are planning to buy it, please dont hesitate, just go for it. Its an excellent phone. Its specs and performance is comparable with Hero.

The only issue which you will learn to overcome with time is the small screen; virtual keyboard is small to type sms or email in portrait view but to type in landscape view is perfect.

Very nice looking device. Screen is definitely capacitive. Froyo should run fine on this as it is leaner than 2.1, and it was created "with Google" which is officially branded on the back.
It is faster than my expectation, all software available for Froyo is compatible, There are no Zong Logos on phone or shown during startup (but it is carrier locked).

Camera result is not good indoors, but quite good outdoors (in sun light).

Not a bad phone for the price, the camera is a bit poor. The plastic case for the phone is better quality than I thought it would be, the call quality is OK. However the battery life is poor and frustrating, but then again most Android phones that I have had seem to have this problem.

i was very disappointed when knew that its not capable of sending audio files via bluetooth. it doesnt have any options for exporting such type of files. im stil hoping that i might be able to find solutions to this. another fact is i might have difficulties lookng for spare accessories for this model because of its limited availability in the market.

For starters, the first impression you get, where the heck is the user manual? At first I thought I was mistaken but looking at the box I didn't find any other.
The battery life as to be expected cannot last more than a day without charge.
The qwerty keyboard is only useful in landscape mode.
earphone is cannot be compared to what Sony Ericksson gives even on their cheaper handsets. Internal speaker output is quite good.
Wifi connectivity is pretty seamless and tethering to pc is easy and even first time users can easily figure out.
The good thing is the availability of thousands of applications downloadable for free from the android market.

Build quality 8/10 It is very sturdy. Fell into a tub of water but after a few hours it was back again.
Reception 8/10 Pretty steady signal even in most areas.
Call quality 8/10 Very audible earvolume.
Internet 9/10
Multimedia 8/10
Camera 5/10 Only good for general pictures.
UI speed 7/10
Everyday usage 7/10
Text input 6/10
Display 8/10
Battery 4/10 Cannot last more than a day without recharge.

Pros

  • Excellent features at affordable price.
  • Funky looks
  • Full connectivity suite
  • Good speaker quality
  • Decent size, fits pocket neatly

Cons

  • Low battery life
  • Small qwerty keyboard

Smart phone but dumb "manual".

Yadnarie01 has owned it for less than month before publishing this review

Easy to use once you know how. However, the manual is an absolute disgrace with some 20 pages of text squeezed down onto a sheet of paper that is slightly larger than "Legal" size. If you want to read it, BUY A MICROSCOPE.

Mind you, why you should read it is beyond me for it is just about useless for anyone unfamiliar with a smart phone. Cop this for the opening statement:

"Note:
All the pictures in this guide are for your reference only. The actual appearance and display features depend on tyhe mobile phone you purchased".

It is all down hill from there. The "guide" is for all smart phones from the manuacturer; it is NOT model specific. Smart phones need to be accompanied by clear, legible, readable manuals or guides that show the specific features of a model. What you get is a great entry level smart phone that is spoiled by a lousy elcheapo "guide" that anyone over 35 cannot read without a good quality microscope.

The bottom line is a smart phone that is spoilt by a very poor manual and that is just plain lousy marketing.

Build quality 7/10 Plain plastic build is not as classy as the mag-alloy jobs but they cost twice as much.
Reception 10/10 Heck, I only live 500 metres from a cell tower.
Call quality 7/10 Speaker phone not clear in my hearing aid. audio feedback that did not occur with my previous phone.
Internet 7/10 A bit slow to download some pages.
Multimedia 8/10 A little slow when loading video or large pics.
Camera 7/10 3.2 megapixels is a bit on the small side these days with many phones using 5 megapixels even in low end phones.
UI speed 7/10 Slight lag sometimes when clicking on icons but swiping between home pages is very good.
Everyday usage 8/10 Easy to hold, lock, unlock and access key features.
Text input 6/10 2.8" screen does have its limitations and one of them is that pudgy fingers can easily hit the wrong key.
Display 6/10
Battery 7/10 14 days standbye actually translates to about 4 days in the real world. However, as many smart phones need recharging almost every day, 4 days is okay.

Pros

  • Fits in the pocket easily and is light weight.

Cons

  • The maual is okay for those with an electrom microscope
