Love it!

I got my Verizon XV6900 Touch yesterday and love everything about it. The HTC home screen plug-in really makes things easier and less complicated for users new to windows mobile. Call quality is excellent. Reception is generally registered as 1 bar less than most other phones, but does not always indicate call quality. For instance you can have a crystal clear phone call with only 1 or 2 bars.

For any heavy texter shying away from this phone due to lack of a physical keyboard. There is a virtual fullscreen keyboard you can get that I'm using now called "Spb Fullscreen keyboard". I text a lot and it works great.

STAY AWAY

THE PHONE HAS HAD PROBLEMS FROM DAY ONE STARTING WITH A TOUCH SCREEN THAT DOESN'T ALWAYS WORK TO VIBRATING RING NOT WORKING TO USB CONNECTOR IN PHONE NOT WORKING TO RUNNING OUT OF DEVICE MEMORY. I SENT IT OUT FOR REPAIRS THREE TIMES SO FAR AND I'VE ONLY HAD IT FOR 4 MONTHS. FEATURES ARE IMPRESSIVE AND IS OK WHEN WORKING OTHER THAN THE MEMORY PART WHICH CANNOT BE EXPANDED USING MEMORY CARD.

If you like modding and hacking this phone is for you. There are tons of apps out there for it and different roms made (free too) by many users.

The phone is fast for me and does periodically freeze but usually during program use and rarely while it is just sitting or in a call. Often it is best to soft reset once a day (button IS on the bottom), just to clear data or restart it.

Camera does kind of suck at times but I don't know that a flash would fix it as much as speeding the aperture or a better lens would. Pictures look great outside and with a video upgrade cab the videos are tons better. Although any movement during picture taking guarantees blurry pics, once again aperture speed.

Also sync nicely with pc's and supports most every office program as well as PDFs.

Music availability is great too. Even with my slow mobile internet I can have uninterrupted music from internet radio stations and sirius satellite radio stations. Headphones that come with the device are pretty darn good although I would still like a little more exterior noise canceling and comfort with them.

I do agree with phonearena's review about the browser, and use the opera one myself but soon opera 9.5 will be released and will be a cut above all other browsers as long as it doesn't slow the processor down.

Touch screen is very versatile and I usually use the stylus just out of preference. Keyboard use is easy, I like the touchpal keyboard, another addon for the large buttons in case I...

This is one of the bestphones out there, Hct did a good job on this phone,i like it that it's light and easy to control, there is a some things i'm not happy with the phone. It doesn't have a built in flash with the camera, you can't text message any pictures so you have to send it via e-mail to anyone of your contacts, the phone sometimes can't connect to the network, and one thing that it bothers me the most, the phone freezes alot, it freezes on me about 6 times a day or more for me. I have to reset the phone everytime. Those are some very mayor problems but i honestly think it's a good phone, i recommend this phone to everyone.

My First HTC

Sorry, I'm gonna just go with the negative points here. The phone is acting slow, the touch screen feature is nice but the stylus is still needed. The Battery is horrible too. I have to recharge the battery once or twice a day depending on how I use it. The camera works okay but no built-in flash. The volume control on the side on the phone isn't that easy to use

Great phone, horrible OS...

The title says it all... I love the phone itself... I thought i would hate a touch screen but I actually like it. Sound is good, buttons are good (other than the volume button on the side... a rocker style would be much much better here). The problems I have had are all with Microsoft and Sprint. Firstly, I am unable to send picture or video messages (MMS) with my phone. I have to do that via email... and you can only do it that way if you know the carrier your friend has. This is a HUGE step backwords and had I known before hand... i probably would not have gotten the phone. I have to re-boot it quite a bit (already more in the two months ive owned it than my previous phone in the year and a half i owned it. Ocassionally just will not connect to the datanetwork for no apparent reason. I've had to reformat it 3 times now... Basically if you get this phone it does do a lot of cool things and its a really nice phone but keep in mind... it is a Microsoft OS on it... imagine going back to windows 98... yeah it buggy and has all sorts of problems... I still like it I just wish I could put a linux OS on there somehow... or anything besides this horrible WM6.

Best Smartphone ever used

I had this phone for almost two weeks and it was the best phone I have ever used. I have had other Windows Mobile phones in the past and the Palm Centro and this is by far the best. When choosing between this and a Blackberry I took into account how cheap the operating system of the
Blackberry looked and how it performed while I used it. The keyboard on this phone is fantastic and is the best i've used compared to any qwerty or t9 i've used before.
The only downfalls of this phone are the fact that the screen gets smudgy (but what can one expect) and the included ie web browser sucks compared to others. Also the rate plan with Alltel was ridiculously priced which is the only reason I ended up taking this phone back.

Best Phone

I got the HTC touch shortly after it was released by sprint. I am coming from a Moto Q and then an HTC Mogul. This phone is by far the best phone i have owned, and does everything i need it to do. I have not had any problems with it locking up on me, and also have flashed the ROM and now have windows 6.1 running. This upgrade to 6.1 made a great device nearly perfect. Now that I have the integrated threaded text messaging I am able to send threaded messages without the keyboard covering anything up.

As for typing with no actual keyboard, it was about a two week learning curve for me, but now i am faster than i was on my Mogul and no longer have to deal with the low memory problems I had before. GREAT DEVICE!!!!!!

Love this phone

This is one of the best smartphones out there. I love the fact that I can download 3rd party software. Is it an Iphone?....No...but it does stand on its own.

Sprint Touch

I love this phone, all the feature,( i.e. Sprint TV and IM) are great. The size is the big catcher. I had the PPC 6700 so you know I'm enjoying this "Small Wonder". I have a friend with the HTC Tilt and his phone doesn't do everything like the Sprint Touch.

Pro's: Size, Sprint TV/Radio,

Con's: Signal strenght, install touch pad, HTC will not support issue.

@Mike Zotos:

Just so you are aware, I have the Touch, and the reason the phone locks up when not in use is the HTC Sprint home plug-in. I took this off completely and have not had one lock-up since. Try different plug-ins out there. There are much better ones (SPB Mobile shell to name one).

As far as the keyboard issue-- There are probably about 50-100 free keyboards that you can install if you do not like the ones on the device. It definitely takes some work initially to find one that you like, or does what you need it to do, but that is the whole point of owning a PPC: Customization!!!!

$524.00

All I have to say about the Touch is that it is great...Hands down! I did have it all of a sudden freeze up on me when I wasn't even using it? so far the battery is good I only have to charge it once a day ( thats great for a PDA!)

The look is nice instead of squard look like the Treo series. I wanted the phone ever since it came out but wanted to wait till chrismas to get it but I lost my Red Razr (tear) so I had to get a new phone istead of paying $50 fee to get a new I just bought a Touch out right.

Best Thing I Ever Did!!!!!!!!! A++ in my book!

had to get it

i like the phone, had the MotoQ for about a year, but for sum reason i wanted the touch screen, this phone does wat i need it to do and more. picture quaility lovely, sound quaility lovely. but for sum reason places i was gettin service with Q, that i cant seem to get with this phone. it has predict text so it makes it ez-er to text. i must say the power button is like way to ez to activiate. just a slight push and its on. i put it in my pocket a lot even thought it came with a case in the box, so that is a slight prob for me. but overall ithink this phone is 10, with a few minor set back. him2gud07@gmail.com to ask more.

Good to GO!

This is the second Pocket-PC that I personally own, The first one was from work, and it was an HTC equipment the 6700, but this one I like it so much that I brought it for me, for personal use, I can pretty sure do the same things that I used to do with the prior phone, plus I have the touch screen, the 2 mega pixels cam, the stereo mp3 quality sound. So far so good, because I haven’t got pretty much time to play with this new gadget.

Not Quite

I have to say I was anxious to get this phone once I heard it was on it's way (Thanks PhoneArena). Unfortunately I had to wait several days to activate it due to Sprint's backend upgrades this week. What idiot decided to make this major upgrade the same day they introduce a phone that was supposed to compete with I-Phone? Obviously their departments to not TALK to each other! This action left a sour taste in my nouth.

There are numerous flaws with this phone. First, and the most annoying, is that in standby mode the phone crashes for no apparent reason. At first I suspected it was due to one of the programs running in the background but after I closed all the running programs it still happened. This caused me to lose several incoming calls. Each time I didn't find out the phone had crashed until I went to use it myself. The worst part about this is that you cannot reboot the phone using any button. You have to take off the rear battery cover and remove the battery and then re-install. Very frustrating.

The second most annoying feature is the pop-up keyboards. On many occasions the keyboard hides the fields that you are trying to enter data into. This means you have to continuously go back and forth checking what you have typed to see if it's correct. How hard would it have been to move the whole screen upwards to keep the input field visible? Could no one at HTC see this problem? Wow.

There are other problems too. Too numerous to mention here. Let's just say that the...

Amazing

This is an incredible phone and I'm so glad it finally hit CDMA networks. The size is perfect, the layout is great, and it has all the features you could want (except maybe wi-fi). The screen smudges VERY easily though, I was selling one of these and had to take some glass cleaner to it twice before the guy left. Also, the response time is a little slow and sensitive. A stylus is basically worthless, as is to be expected, but this means that you have to use the "combined" keyboard, which like a blackberry puts two letters on one key. I suppose this means the size is perfect for all fingers, but it becomes a problem when you have to slow down and wait for the phone. I'll definitely stick with the Mogul for the keyboard but that is the only thing that is really unnerving about this device. If you're looking for a new phone, look into this one. It blows away most everything anyone in America is offering.
