Compatibility with US Carriers

Does anyone know if this phone will definitely work with both voice and 3G for a US carrier? Sounds like maybe AT&T? Can someone confirm?

Unfortunately, its 3G supports only the European frequencies, so it won't be compatible with any US carrier. A similar phone for the US is the EVO 4G, but it is a Sprint-only phone.

This phone will work only for voice, sms. However, it'll not work for 3g or any other data plans. Maybe just the Edge network for t-mobile (250kbs). I confirmed his with HTC, T-mobile rep.
So if you want to CALL, SMS this phone will work but no 3G or data plan coverage.
I would wait, spring time they'll release something for US to ante up Desire HD ;)

Actually the above is not correct. I got my HTC Desire HD with 3G 850 from Gsm Nation. They have a model called the NAM 3G versionhttp://www.gsmnation.com/htc-desire-hd-unlockednam.html and it works with ATT 3G just fine

Not sure if the Desire HD is any different, but I currently have an alltel branded htc desire working on boost mobile cdma network calls, 3g, sms, mms, android market all work fine so it is possible for a US carrier but again not sure if the HD is different but I would assume not HD is only the display
