iPhones have taken over the world
Admob is the world’s leading supplier of iPhone and iPod touch ads. According to their study, based on 25 million devices, the iPhone is most popular in the US, but not only. The number of sales has risen in many other countries as we can see on the diagram. This chart presents the spread of iPod touches and iPhones around the world. On the top of the rate, next to the US are the UK and France.  As it seems, the percent of the sales is bigger in countries where the iPhone has been present since the iPhone 2G.

looks like the droid really killed the iphone.... ha

Oh u hit the nail right on the head there. But I dunno how. This has nothing to do with the droid, and no data on the droid is mentioned. These aren't actuall real sales numbers. And of they were they would show the iPhone outselling the droid nearly 10-1 this quarter. Yeah reaL iPhone killer there.

Well, to be fair, this really doesn't have anything to do with the Droid. Also, the Droid hasn't been out anywhere near as long as the iphone. I can't say yay or nay on the device, since I haven't had a chance to use it.

i was being sarcastic. lol.

Yeah I don't have a chance to use Moto Droid and I live in New Zealand not even Palm Pre :) But hey the only great phone available here is the iPhone 3GS, there is a HTC Hero GSM version but the pricing isn't too far from the 32GB 3GS so I got the 3GS and I love that it has great apps, which will be working like my personal manager.

this doesnt have anything to do with this article, but in all fairness the droid is much more complicated and feature full that obviously the iphone will sell more. the iphone has a very simple os and thats why so many people love it.

wow thats cool i guess.. o i know this has nothing to do with it. but does anyone know why does at&t have horrible service is LA ,chicago and new york? and it has amazing service in puerto rico? cause i used at&t in all those places i mentioned above and in LA,chicago and new york their 3G service was a joke .. i couldnt even call with 5 bars of 3G cause i would get call failed and the internet was sooo slow ...then last month i went to puerto rico to visit my wife and over there they also have at&t and i noticed that the service was 10 times better even the call quality improved in my blackberry bold . and their 3G service was soo much faster at loading web pages. and i was able to call just fine even with 1 bar of 3G and it didnt drop the call.were in LA ,chicago and new york it was impossible to make a call with full reception cause i would get call failed. why is that?? thanks

Because the network is bogged down with too many other iphone users in those markets. They're improving stuff, it's just gonna take some time.

LMAO that is so true, it only occurs in metropolitan cities.

Ha! Take some time? As in...years, you mean? If ATT goes by their current standard, they'll wait around, and then throw a drop in the bucket for an investment compared to what they SHOULD have been doing all along, year after year, like VZW has done. ATT has signed their own death warrant, and Apple is suffering for it. Whether the iPhone goes to VZW or not, it's things like the SNL incident and the general disapproval of ATTs service for the iPhone that's gonna cause Apple to open up their device to more networks.

Ohhhhh bad news for VZW fanboys....!!!!

14. vzw fanman posted on 21 Dec 2009, 20:40

doesn't affect me.

16. vzwman posted on 21 Dec 2009, 22:38

I'm glad im not on a bogged down network BTW Droid is the funk welcome to a new era ppl

19. DOGIEFRESH posted on 22 Dec 2009, 03:17

You're right, but you are in an obsolete network.....!!! With whatever u wanna name AT&T still hurting big red in the ass with all those switch for the iphone like it or not fanboy, even the blackberry bold outsold the storm jejejeje...!!!

21. vzwman posted on 22 Dec 2009, 19:41

Explain to me why Verizons network is obsolete, what just because we don't stick sim cards into our phone. Did you know that att had to buy cell towers from Verizon just to support y'all iPhone lovin priks! If att was the better network then why is it suffering from overloads

Everyone hurts some time no one is on top 4ever so let verizon have it shine b/c i don't think it will last in 2010. Verizon put all there baskets in one egg. The put too much marketing dollars into downing ATT which is right the 2nd top provider, i mean if i was putting down a company and the just fell down to 2nd best instead of being the worse provider i would feel pretty stupid wouldn't you. And it's not like Verizon is heavily on top of ATT in profit so i didn't really understand the reason for the commericals. I think that was a childish move on verizon no other cell phone company wastes there money on downing other companies b/c it's a waste of money.

11. sleepyjohnny posted on 21 Dec 2009, 18:37

please apparently verizon had to sell AT&T some network towers because its service was doing so bad like last year. AT&T has alot of iphone users but verizon has alot of general smartphone users as well in metropolitan areas and their network works just fine. bad news, or is it something we've been waiting for so that those stupid commercials will go away... we have verizon, we dont want to see a commercial about it lol

13. deschats posted on 21 Dec 2009, 19:45

i honestly think the iphone just has bugs of its own, thats why it sucks calling in metropolitan areas. i dont know though, i have verzion.
