Well, the Japanese people are no fools. It's like a tech-country. They didn't buy the previous Apple producst simply because they aren't exactly the best specs-wise. Lately though, Apple has been producing top-quality internals so I guess that's why the Japanese are now interested. So am I.

As a tech country they don't like to have LTE, DLNA, or a file browser in a smartphone =)? Believe me, it's just hype.

Have you seen Japanese only Fujitsu Phones?

update: the one that can dual boot symbian and wp7? so ugly feature yeah , luckily someone else simplified their lives.

I was referring to the high-end Fujitsu Droids. They are dual-cores that can make the GS2 a run for it's money. Add the resistant thing (shock, dust, water) and it rocks. They are kinda rugged but they don't look like it.
What I'm saying is the Japanese weren't interested with previous Apple products because they had crazily good droids. IMO, Apple hit a good spot with the new iPad. It's actually the first Apple product I actually wanna have.

Well I'm happy if you're happy with your possible future purchase, I'm just afraid of people manipulation. Again, can't immagine a portable tech device with no file browser, 20 years of progress and such device does less than a 486 in terms of file management. With a cheap transformer I can open the device via windows explorer, set an animated wallpaper and have smooth screen transitions with ics and nova launcher.
I had an iphone and macbook pro, while I found iOS good until I discovered I was mesmerized - OS X still seems a solid system. So I'm not judging without knowing it - I even jailbroke the iphone and made bluetooth file transfer with celeste, knew many secrets.
iOS: they choose Android/Linux: you choose

I never actually owned an iDevice but I had a lot of time playing with my officemate's phones. And the only thing I liked about iOS is the really smooth and responsive experience.
And now the only thing I like about this new iPad is the screen. Like I said I actually wanna have it, just because of the screen :p It'd be really nice watching HD stuff on a tablet. BUT I don't have any plans on buying one! Waste of money, really over-priced for me. And yeah I hate that about Apple, the term you used is perfect "people manipulation".
I'm all for OpenSource! I love droids and if I actually have money what I'd get is the Optimus 4X and a 700 series tab. I'll never buy an iOS device. I'd take one as a gift though :p

The 4s definitely has the best camera of any phone out there. The processor doesn't have the highest specs, but with optimized iOS the 4s is far more responsive than any Android phone.

best camera? nokia n8, xperia s, i could go on... and i haven't even mentioned the 801 yet.... think before you talk !
more responsive? meh, i'm happy with a little lag (which hardly ever happens) on my SGSII, as long as I actually have a real OS, not just an app launcher... get it?

Agreed the N8 camera is far superior to the iphones especially in night time photos like pubs,I've used both in both day time and night time shots and the n8 wins hands down.

If it were for apple they would change the color of their icons in the name of major Os update and bump the clock speed of the processor by 100Mhz every decade or so and the iLemmings would love it because it provide smooth experience. So much for revolutionizing the mobile industry ha. People rarely utilize the full power of Intel and Amd processors, does that mean we should set the computing progression backwards by delivering only something that provides smooth user experience.

You love your crap cameras don't you. There's a reason the iPhone camera is the most used on Flickr by far.
Glad you like your OS. Lots of geeks love their Windows Vista too.
I suffered with the unstable iOS ripoff they call Android for 2 years before I switched. Someday you will wake up to reality too.

No No you are wrong. If you are not using an Android device then you are a fool. No matter you are a Japanese or Russian. That what I learn from this comment section.

iPhone is just recently coming to all of these Asian countries, it's not wonder why it's a high demand. Not only that, they release a new version once a year, so for 1 quarter it dominates everything else, and it's the only manufacturer to offer iOS, so there is no competition if someone is dying to have iOS, so this makes sense....... but I still would never buy one, Apple is too controlling!
6. c.hack (Posts: 530; Member since: 09 Dec 2009)
By controlling, do you mean getting all your OS updates on the date of release vs Android where you can't get the 3 month old ICS?
Or maybe you mean it controls the phone so Verizon can't flood it full of crapware that make it crash repeatedly?
I love "controlling", I hate fake "Open" OSes that are only open to the carriers and that don't give their users updates.

Japanese people have a choice and choose Apple. Same thing US consumers did when they got a choice.
Fandroids worst nightmare is Apple taking market share. That's the only thing cheap crapdroids were good at.

along with being a better overall phone, but ya know...thats nothing to scoff at, cuz im just a fandroid that doesnt know what hes talking about
hype will do a lot of things
