@ Ardent. All Apple products are sold at a premium! The only difference is that operators are subsidizing the cost of iDevices. You can't honestly expect operators to subsidize an incompatible product!

The world over operators are launching LTE and would love nothing more than to launch with a Flagship product. That product could have been the NEW iPad with it's "game changing" retina display and LTE! All I'm saying is that it's a major missed opportunity for Apple and a headache inducing product as operators will be left to answer why the NEW iPad isn't supported!

"since Apple’s historic record shattering Holiday quarter" lol @ the wording chosen for a media article on a supposedly non fanboy website. You know that record quarter was based on highest profit margins on a rebadged 2 year old iPhone 4 that basically screwed millions into buying more of apple's old crap sold as new. Historic ripoff more like.

The love for apple on this site iS SiMPLY DiSGUSTiNG

and maybe, just maybe, the sales are sliding because the same core iFans are getting sick of buying $300(on contract)-$750(off contract) for incremental upgrades year after year. This is gonna catch up to Apple sooner or later, only the devout iFans will keep coming back at those prices for old crap sold as new.

Apple is the king of incremental forced upgrades by withholding features, aka Siri, is just the latest in a long line of forced upgrades for a software enhancement that was originally a free app on the iPhone4 in the first place!

iPhone sales slide all the time after the ifanatics q relentlessly for days apon initial release to buy the new iPhone, then after these folks get the phones the sales dither, all fans with older iphone models immediately update as soon as a 'new' one is released in order to keep social acceptance.

Funny thing is that due to low stock for many months by the time many ifans actually get an iphone the next one is only about 5 months away and they start saving immediately to buy it apon release, its the apple circle of life

Just buy the phone you like. I personally like the Galaxy Nexus GSM version so will likely stay with the Nexus line from here on out. It's handling everything I throw at it so far even though it's only dual core. I'm sure it will be fine until the next Nexus or two comes out. Most satisfying Android I've owned to date. First Android I didn't have to cover up the UI.

Iphone is very nice, I love the phone but the screen is too small. I have a GS2 and if the next iphone's screen is increased, I will gladly buy it. I have owned the IOS and loved it especially the apps in the app store. the quality is next to none. Let's not forget that even with the mass competition, apple still holds its own. Think about it, there are countless android phones to compete against ONE apple iphone. Apple sets the standards and makes great phones even though you have no freedom with the phone, it is still worth it. Just keep it real with yourself.

If apple released more than ONE phone...it would cut into their own sales. Instead of you pointing out the fact that Apple doesnt give you choices....you use it as an excuse for their market share diminishing since 2007. As far as I know, Apple has the constitutional right to release more than 1 phone per year. I can only assume they have assessed they shouldnt do it for economic/sales reasons.

Sales sliding because of a new phone release? In other news if it rains while sunny out you can see a rainbow.

taco. another bad omen for your bet. Samsung is expected to post record shattering Q1, while Apple is expected to be down 20% in sales.. like normal (they always spike then slide).

Been almost nice knowin ya.

even with 20% down in sales.. is more than Samsung for the quarters... and expected is not the same as they actually did... experts are never right... so just sit back and wait

Regarding comment #21 (currently 4th in the list) - Let's at least compare oranges to oranges. You can't compare all iPhones out there to any one Android phone. This argument would work if there were only one Android phone out there, and only one iPhone model out there. If that is what you want to compare, just say so.

How about this one - There are more Android users out there using their phones than there are iPhone users out there.

And I hate to type on glass, which rules out a lot of the Android phones as well. I'll use whatever I think will work best for me. And I've been through Windows phones up through version 6, Treos (Palm and Windows), and Androids. (No Blackberries.) And the only one that didn't have a physical keyboard was my current one, which I won from Radio Shack, and it daily confirms how much I hate to type on glass. And the next one will have a physical keyboard.
