iPhone apps get no love after 30 days

If you’re one of the many iPhone owners that love downloading those free apps from the App store, you probably stop using it after the initial appeal. The media research group, Pinch Media, said that data was collected from more than 30 million app downloads that were tracked for analytics services. Their findings show that free applications downloaded from the App Store are in use by less than 5 percent of users after 30 days since downloading initially. Additionally, 20 percent of free apps are used more than on one occasion. So what might the collected data mean? Maybe a good majority of apps are one time wonders and then left to stay on the back burner for amusement. The case is the same for those paid apps which are less likely to be used multiple times than the free ones.

Most of the free apps are lite versions of the full blown paid apps. It only makes sense they would only use it a few times. Download the lite version, if you like it buy the full blown paid app and never use the lite version again. Otherwise, if you don't like it obviously you won't use it either. Makes sense right?

Don't remember saying Apple is awesome, or the iPhone is the best thing since sliced bread but suit yourself. From an objective standpoint just thought it made sense, but I agree with rbz275 about some of the free apps.

@HOVA I agree with what you mean with the lite apps, but they all aren't lite apps. I've never bought an app on the app store, and I have everything I need in the free ones. Facebook, AIM, weather, a few games like cube runner. It's true though, many are dumb and get deleted shortly after I download them.
