iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus may both offer OIS, LG and Sony could share camera module orders

Most of the recent rumors had it that the iPhone 7 Plus should feature a dual rear camera with optical image stabilization, while the iPhone 7 will include a regular rear camera without OIS. However, Nomura Securities analyst Chris Chang now expects both new iPhones to offer OIS.

As you may know, optical image stabilization is currently included only on the iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 6s Plus. Thus, the iPhone 7 could become Apple's first 4.7-inch handset to have a camera with OIS. This should help the device deliver higher quality photos and videos, especially in low light situations.

Nomura Securities also notes that Sony, which Apple had initially contracted to make camera modules for the iPhone 7, may not be able to manufacture enough cameras in due time. As a result, "most" of Apple's "initial dual camera orders" might be handled by LG Innotek. Knowing Apple, the cameras should be top notch anyway, and end users will likely not be affected by this alleged change of suppliers.
