iPhone 5s now shipping in 2 to 3 weeks, could it affect iPads as well?
0. phoneArena 11 Oct 2013, 21:03 posted on
We knew from before the iPhone announcement that Apple was having trouble with iPhone 5s supplies, and we saw the proof just two days after the release when shipping times pushed out to "October". Word had it that the fingerprint scanner was causing production delays, which could be the cause of the problems. According to the Apple website, shipping times on the iPhone 5s have risen up to 2 to 3 weeks...

Never. iPads are awesome but no one will buy an iPad now as everyone will wait for the new iPads.

"but this could also affect the release of the upcoming next generation iPads. While there hasn't been any smoking gun proof that Apple is planning to have the fingerprint scanner on the new iPads, but there have been leaked shots of the alleged iPad mini 2 with a fingerprint scanner, as well as evidence that the fingerprint scanner fits "perfectly" into the iPad 5 case."

I''m already satisfied with the iPad 4. Anyway, I'm planning to buy the new iPad 5 when it releases. I use it as an e-reader at school.

Wait for the 6th generation iPad if you say you're satisfied with the iPad 4th Gen. Along with all the goodies that'll be a part of the iPad 5, the iPad 6 will pack in better RAM that'll make real time use of the 64-Bit Architecture Apple are using with their latest processors. That'll make quite some difference in real-time use.
And btw, the iPad 6th Gen will also sport a radically different Camera, something we'll be seeing in the iPhone 6. They will add whole lot of video and audio supports as well.
Yes, the iPad 5 will automatically have a lot of them through an update, but to have the latest and the greatest at your disposal is an entirely different story. And this is why I recommend you to wait for the iPad 6 if you're satisfied with the iPad 4, which you say you are!

yes, I know bro. But I have to wait and see if the ipad 5 had a huge difference compared to the ipad 4.

You're right. But iPad 5 will be no slouch in terms of performance. People using iPad 3 and 2 must update but people like me who have an iPad 4 can be more patient. Honestly, the way it is running ios 7 I think I can hold on to it until iPad 7 releases.

they should have just called it a pre-order... a couple people i know paid for the next day shipping thinking it would have already been here, but they kept pushing shipping dates back. sad really

If there's one thing apple can afford, it's... Whatever they want. really! since they have more money than the worlds last remaining super power. A company like HTC on the other hand, not so much.

This is why we camped out over night at AT&T. Got our phones on launch day, now just waiting on our iPads.

Number of sale tells itself. The best smartphone on the planet is now short in supply, even in my country.

Just because it sells the most/ is the most popular does not mean it is the best thing.
PC > Consoles, whats more popular? Consoles.
Most real head phone companies > Beats. Whats more popular? Beats.
Know what 2 things your average iphone buyer would probably also get? An xbox/ps3, a pair of some type of beats with no questions asked or attention for superior products.

Dude, not only does the iPhone sell the most (for the nth consecutive year running), it continues to have high customer satisfaction, the handsets have some of the highest resale values (as a % of OEC vs same android at launch period, respectively), have lower obsolence risks than android devices, etc., etc. ...
And, Apple leads the market share on EVA from handset market.
Shatter, just give it a rest.

They actually have the highest resale value by far. +1

Shatter is correct in saying the most popular isn't always the best. The iPhone 5S is great, but certainly not the best. The "best" will always be based off of preference.

100% agreed Berzerk. That's why I continue to use both platforms, they're both full of good stuff but each lack just a little something. +1

I have nothing against Shatter making a GENERAL comment, but his comment is definitely misplaced given the aforementioned specificity of reasons provided.
Shatter obviously has a hard time understanding the iPhone doesn't fit in with his general observations. Ever since the first iPhone came out, android OEMs had all these opportunities (as evidenced by android being about 80% of global market share of smart phones) to be the best selling smart phone -- however, the iPhone continues to be the BEST selling phone despite the onslaught of ongoing new android devices.

yep, It's helped by the word-of-mouth marketing. Just like BB 7 in my country is still sold very well. Eventhough BB 7 is inferior in many aspects, but the popularity of BBM makes people buy it.

Are you talking about the smartphone market share? Android sells the most/is the most popular so they are not the best thing.
Thank you for making that clear for us.

EVA stands for economic value added as in the EVA market share.
Why am I NOT surprised that you did not understand that?
