0. phoneArena 10 Sep 2013, 13:04 posted on

A new flagship iPhone - a new chipset by Apple! That's the way it usually goes, but with the introduction of the iPhone 5S, it seems Apple has a special treat for us. It appears that the new 'A7' chipset that will power Apple's finest will actually have a 64-bit architecture, which makes it the first mobile processor of this kind...

Does anyone know what's the difference between 32 bit and 64 bit? I guess no one knows. That's Y they are getting impressed where they shouldn't be.32 bit means apps can access maximum of 4 GB of ram at once. 64 bit means it can access way much more ram at once. But it's obvious there is no phone in the world has 4 GB ram. Note 3 also has only 3 GB only. So what's the use of this 64 bit in smartphones at the moment? To get the advantage of the 64 bit architecture smartphones must have a RAM equal to or more than 4 GB. Or 64 bit is the same speed, same consistency and same power as 32 bit. As computers have much more ram than 4 GB it's important to computers.64 bit or 32 bit both have the same CPU access thus same processing power. The thing is Apple has nothing to innovative. Thus they just jumped a huge leap but no use from that. Android will eventually come to the 64 bit architecture with the RAM more than 4 GB and enough application support. That's how it should develop. But this Apple stunt effect only to simulate consumers to buy the iPhone 5s. Poor iPhone loyal fans.

Oh man, shame on you to htink that the only advantage of 64 bits is the max memory usable... do some research before say those things

64 bit will not fix anything or do anything at all for the iPhone. At the moment, the main use of 64bit is more memory addresses allowing more memory to be utilized. In this case it makes no difference since it is probably 1GB of RAM still for the 5S (since they didn't mention it).

Android doesn't lag at all as long as you know how to use it bud. But see the bright side with android compared to the closed, unimpressive, uncuztamizable boring ios.. Home screens, widgets, plethora of choices with hardware, elegance and Google support. That is android. What is iOS?

And how much RAM does the iPhone has? I guess it's no more than a single GB RAM. Old as hell. Apple is trying to dream on 64 bit architecture while they have only 1 GB of RAM.

Over what? Just because the iPhone was improved doesn't mean people who don't own one should be sad for what they do own.

Considering Intel is creating 64 bit processors to be released in smartphones beginning next year, I don't think they will be sad.
