We're unsure whose specific hand was used for this measurement.

This year, Samsung and Nokia made bigger and far more interesting headlines and innovations with Sony slight behind. Apple has lost its edge this year.

That's said EVERY time they release a phone.. and yet people flock to purchase it like it's the miracle cure to bring world peace.
Apple doesn't have to do more, not until their consumers demand it.

Not this year. The onslaught of Galaxy S3 and Note 2 and the introduction of WP8 in new Nokia Lumia phones will bite a huge chunk of Apple sales. Also, there is no real drive for 4 and 4s owners to jump to iPhone 5 since there barely any significant change from 4s-5 and iOS getting pretty old. When S3 came out, a significant number of S2 owners express a lot of interest. Same story with the new Lumia phones. Apple however, comments in other sites especially Engadget readers express disappointment right now as I type this.

Nothing surprising, mostly phones has same spec with iphone 5. Other phone manufacturers was able to improve, innovate, and enhanced more their phones. On the other hand only screen size apple manage to change, other specs same with other phone. If people still buy this phone, apple fool them lol

"And, as for why Apple designed it to be longer,
but about the same width as previous
models? "It's because of your hand. It should fit
there. That's how we designed the iPhone 5." This made me laugh, poor sheep can't hold anything else beside an iPhone, how sad they will believe that.

No matter the negatives, it will sell like hotcakes as usual. Why? I have no clue.

I have a Galaxy S3, and I'm in no way shape or form an apple fanboy. But wow, you all need to calm down. This article isn't saying that this screen is revolutionary, it's just confirming specs that were "speculated."

as a technologist it is not good and well not so bad. In my opinion because well it is basically what people expected to be and what has been leaked, so at least they fit to those standards but i would love to see the display to be a little bigger, hover at the 4.3 mark which is the standard average for phones right now, and would love the display resolution to be at least 720hd. LTE no surprised there but lets also so what samsung take on that. um well since there is no ram specs nor the processor speed it is hard to tell but it sounds like what i have been reading is that the processor is most likely will be an overclocked dual core processor around the 1.8ghz range and ram most likely will 1GB of ram. Ios6 well lots of refinement to apps but nothing new kind of disappointed in that. The camera is a lot better 8MP isight camera. Facetime over cell networks was a given. all in all a good decent announcement just wished it would been more of a big must have impact than of a check of list. main point ok but disappointing.

All speculations of iphone 5 almost coming true, apple couldn't manage it's secrecy policy anymore. Tim Cook manage apple differently now, is it time for apple to be transparent? With this new iphone 5, can it gain it's dominance in market shares in the US again or will loss it more? I think apple just made it blur it's future, I'm sure many ifans disappointed and dissatisfied. Just saying...

there is going to be a lot of dissatisfied icustomers maybe more than usual, i think because 1. it wants to handle their products under their own accords instead of following the times, yes some of the stuff in the iphone 5 are flowing of the times and some of them are not. 2. is their plan because i really do believe they have a lot of confidence in their product that it will sell considering their history of the iphone. Time will tell if it gain a chuck of it back because they really lost a chuck to the galaxy note and the galaxy s III. this is where the titan test begins because it its the galaxy note II which out during the fall and the galaxy s III against the iphone 5. to me this will tell and give us very good info on how the future of apple will be like.
