iPhone 5 may run on all 3G and 4G networks (except WiMAX of course)

Remember that Qualcomm chip that we told you about back in November? The one that had far better energy usage and seemed like a sure bet to be part of the iPhone 5? Well, it seems Morgan Stanley just noticed that...

Finally iOS users will get LTE. Guess what? "that next BIG thing is already here" :)
Samsung with Android .... I love that ad of yours.
(No, I do not have an android)

pshh yea that's why iOS jumped 26% to 43% last month and android fell from 60 to 47%. Apple's reign is just beginning. iPhones are still in very high demand. Consider the iPhone 4s, 4 and 3gs were the top 3 best selling smartphones last month as well. Android is just gonna continue to fall.

Where you pulled those numbers? What's taken into account in there ?
6. bvalde09 (Posts: 171; Member since: 22 Nov 2011)
I want to know as well. I mean I have android now but I always have use Iphone. It just not about who is dying (RIM) who might be the best (IOS Vs Android vs Windows Phone) but seriously Apple needs to do something better that what they already doing. Any person will see that they are just doing minor upgrades to release a new version of the phone itself. Is my personal opinnion but I dont see Android falling? like @idroidx650 says

Crapping out phones every few weeks is not innovation. Releasing the Droid Razr in the summer and then releasing the Droid Razr Maxx as the new flagship in winter is not innovation at all.
And please, can someone tell me the crazy innovation that makes Android so revolutionary. Honestly, all their phones are usually processor upgrades and camera upgrades and that covers 99% of Android "innovations". The last attempt at innovation on Android's side were 3D phones, and that really hasn't been too successful.
In my opinion, there is no company today being innovative with their smartphones, and that's both Apple and Google included. I consider WebOS's multitasking as innovative and not new UIs and animations like you see in Android.

dude it's all over the web. Sure Android will gain more ground by releasing pointless devices that people will get excited for and then gets outdated after 2 weeks haha
8. Cwebb (Posts: 501; Member since: 05 Oct 2011)
Whats wrong with innovation? If we keep releasing better phones every 2 weeks compared to 2 years, eventually we'll leave the iPos in the dust

Unfortunately, what he's saying is true. Check out the link below. The article slipped by without too much of a fuss on PA, but it was definitely posted a few days ago. Yeah, its a decent phone, but I still don't get it. Smooth is good, but the customization, functionality, and freedom Android offers just can't be matched. I think iOS will eventually become the number one OS, but it won't last.
11. protozeloz (Posts: 5188; Member since: 16 Sep 2010)
The problem is how this numbers get summed up if its by OS it might also include tablets from which also they have over 80% of the market. Also if those numbers are right I don't recall Android in 60% it was 50-55 and it could be just one firm. An OS activating one million new phones a day won't flock its share by such a huge gap no matter how well the numbers are

Edit that's a sales chart not a market share chart. It explains everything

People do not realize something so simple and obvious and keep spewing the same nonsense, Apple got all those sales because of the Christmas madness so all those shallow personality deprived teenagers got iPhones because if one of them gets it they all must get it to not feel left out and feel more pathetic than they already are :-)
All of the shallow and dumb people that I know got iPhones, every single one, now I'm not generalizing and I'm sure a lot of smart and worthy people get iPhones but they're not the norm, the iPhone is cool and simple, the other platforms are for people with enough individuality to choose for themselves and not let the masses do it.

"Verizon LTE and AT&T LTE don't run on the same frequencies, and we had yet to see a radio that could run both, but it seems this Qualcomm chip can do just that, which truly does make it the all-in-one solution that Apple would love."
That's one of the reasons why it is interesting to join LTE now for them

samsung SUCKS i have owned 3 sammy producks and had problems with all, TV, Frig and epic 4g that freezes more than the north pole. will never buy another SAMMY SUCKS product again.
20. aries.phills (Posts: 104; Member since: 17 May 2011)
freezes more than the north pole?
Thats really funny dude.
Well, I'm still using my lovely galaxy s 2 and the smooth functionality of this phone beats my mortal imagination.
25. twenti7 (Posts: 152; Member since: 09 Jul 2011)
That's harsh luck man. I know many people who swear by Samsung products and absolutely love them. I personally love my Samsung TV and my GSII. I'm even getting a Samsung laptop in a week or two.
Props on the "freezes more than the north pole" bit tho. That was funny.

Bad luck friend. I think Samy has to concentrate on quality rather than quantity. Other wise it will become another Nokia.

Samsung sucks? Alright there buddy. :probably owns a lot of Apple stock:
5. bossmt_2 (Posts: 401; Member since: 13 Oct 2009)
If the iPhone5 launches without LTE which is entirely probably due to battery concerns, availablity of coverage at launch, etc. what is the blowback on that?
16. ivanko34 (Posts: 617; Member since: 04 Sep 2011)
rumor says the iphone5 will be a 5G phone
21. dvancleave (Posts: 32; Member since: 19 Jul 2010)
And then the Bieber 6G Fever will come out shortly thereafter.
17. som (Posts: 768; Member since: 10 Nov 2009)
Now look like every companies will copy Apple patent "Release 1 new phone per year and make 50% of profit per phone".

It awesome that sprint version will have 2 4g radios so that in case I am out of LtE zone I can still use WiMAX ?
22. gallitoking (Posts: 4571; Member since: 17 May 2011)
Steve Jobs was working on the iphone5 when he died.. so expext LTE ..slimmer and Apple last attempt to finish off Android..may come true.. as Jobs wanted it...
24. Whateverman (Posts: 3064; Member since: 17 May 2009)
You're not serious are you? You really thing Apple is going to have 90% of the market??? Not happening dude.
35. gallitoking (Posts: 4571; Member since: 17 May 2011)
They dont need too.. Android will always outsell Apple as a whole.. but one manufacturer will never do it... just warch what happens with the iphone 5... What happen in China is nothing compare to what is coming...
36. Whateverman (Posts: 3064; Member since: 17 May 2009)
Well, you said ip5 would "attempt to finish off Android". To me it sounded like you were saying its possible that ALL the current Android users would instantly convert to iOS users when it comes. I don't believe any one OS will ever completely finish off another, no matter how good the OS may be.
As for ip5 and the China release, everyone knows what will happen in both cases... LOOOOONG lines, fights, disappointed teens, and record high profits for Apple! Android might even slip to number 2. But Google wont care about that because Apple is the one that wants to be the top selling phone. Google just wants you to use their services, even if you use it on an iphone which most likely will be the case. Either way, Google gets what they wanted... more people using Google services.
39. gallitoking (Posts: 4571; Member since: 17 May 2011)
pretty easy task when more than 45% are free phones...
40. Whateverman (Posts: 3064; Member since: 17 May 2009)
I forgot...free is suppose to be a dirty word in the iOS community. Even when it's free iphone 3GSs right? Lol.
26. andro. (Posts: 1890; Member since: 16 Sep 2011)
Rumour has it the iphone 5 will change the fabric of time and space
27. kpfirefighter (Posts: 157; Member since: 20 Sep 2011)
If the iphone 5 comes with a larger screen which it's suppose to (4"0 last i read it could be a huge hit to android.
In fact they will have to build the super device to keep up! Iphone 4s are still a month on back order where i live.
I have the nexus and its a great phone but the iphone 5 with larger screen and 4g i'm switching!
33. LionStone (Posts: 405; Member since: 10 Dec 2010)
lol!! ip just a little late to the party... A 4" screen and 4G FINALLY...sounds like they are trying to keep up. It unfortunately will still only be an iphone after these long awaited upgrades, sorry man :(
29. leftheodo (Posts: 61; Member since: 21 Oct 2011)
I thought 4G was an incomplete technology! That is what iFans were saying since the EVO 4G! Not to mention OTA updates, voice recognition, notification system and larger screens! And yet apple is suing other companies for copying!
32. luis_lopez_351 (Posts: 951; Member since: 18 Nov 2010)
aww poor sprint had to pay millions of dollars to apple to get the iphone when all it had to do is wait. Not only that but T-Mobile just b#tch slapped apple. hahaha :'D a little advice for sprint, stop rushing!!!! didn't you learn from the wimax failure?
34. BReND0 (Posts: 49; Member since: 07 Dec 2010)
although I Do agree with you about Sprint and a rushing of WimaX failure....you cant count Sprint out by the deal with apple and all the devices........Sprint was huge , Took over Sponsorship from winston on Nascar , multi billion dollar business with over 60 million fans, bought out nextel, hold major accounts still off all types of construction and industrial businesses, and they just took over the NBA from T-mobile....lots of ads and money generated there..also the most popular pay as you go with the boost network.... so yeah I assume they have as much cash coming in as going out.....its not about all the accounts you have, but the wealth of the accounts and partnerships.....i have Tmobile an love tmobile ..happy for five years with them....i feel they will fall first...losing partnerships with Best buy, and radioshack selling their phones and they lost the NBA deal,,,soon to lose the wal mart deal.....hate to say it but i dont wanna sink with the ship, i been off contract since march show them my love still...but if they dont fix up and strech out their 3g and network...i may be joining the evil empire over at AT&T
