Verizon is to late on this deal they did not get many new customers from this many were upgrades from existing customers. I have at&t and i did have verizon before and i like at&t network. Works fine and I know a phone that I buy from them will not have some network software on it that kills the phone. Verizon sold everyone on android phones that are better then the iphone now they have the iphone????? I guess they really did need it but did it do for them what they thought it was going to do? Or maybe to early to tell?

Too many idiots are obsessed with the iPhone for no reason, even though Android phones are clearly better, so why not have BOTH?! It was strictly a business move, and a smart one, none the less.

And too many Idiots are obsessed hating the iphone for idiotic reasons. The iphone still has way more apps than android phones. The iphone is integrated in more cars and other appliances than android phones. It works better to a lot of people, and no dumb android user should dictate what works better for other users. Android phones are just iphone copycats :)

I don't hate the iPhone I'm just confused, why iOS users and Android users argue so much. iOS is an ok OS while android is obviously better FOR ME. Also I suggest you don't call people idiots, especially when you can't seem to form proper sentences. You should also know that Android was created way before iOS (android was developed in 2005 and iOS came out in 2007). So how about we make a rule you don't post unless you A. Know what your talking about or B. Told to speak. Thanks :)

"android was developed in 2005 and iOS came out in 2007"
Do you think iPhone just popped out from nowhere on June 2007? They went through years and years of development also, probably pre-2005

You mean like dumb Steve Jobs dictates to you what you should use to stream content via the web right? And I'm assuming that you're "way more apps the android phones" is referring to the 300,000 iPhone apps to the 100,000 Android apps. The obvious and easiest explanation is the two year head start which is a kudo to Apple by the way. But the actual, and sadly, not so cosmetically appealing when you think about it real hard reason is..............(Drumroll)....Repetition. Not sure if Apples 700 or so fart/belch apps to Androids 50 should really qualify as relevant apps. But its whatevs. If it helps you to sleep at night, then I'm cool with it.

There is no good or bad...it's all about what works for you. Android works well for you, but not for everyone. No big deal in liking the iPhone.

This move will really show it self as other peoples contracts expire on att. Especially when the the iphone5 is released.

What network software that kills the phone? I think Verizon will eventually get more new customers, but it was still a benefit to them if a lot of customers that never had smartphones decided to upgrade. That's a lot of people adding $29.99 data plans. It's nothing wrong with having multiple OS' so customers can pick their provider first, then the phone, not the other way around.

what Verizon did with Android is provide customers with a phone that fresh & new to their network. it was a similar experience to what Apple had created in the iP. bottom line is Android was positioned as an option not superior. look at the Droid Does campaign...it was merely displaying the capabilities of the Android platform.

They may have sold a lot, but how many of them were returned? I know from experience, A LOT. I was among the first ones to receive it, a couple of days before the 10th. When I brought it to FedEx to ship it back the next morning, the guy said it was the 7th that morning. There are 7 FedEx locations in town! And it was early morning. I would like to know how many of them total were returned that day in just that town!

All of them were returned. Happy now? Lol. So go have peace :)

I know for a fact a lot of them were returned. I gave mine back ASAP. Their is still going to be a lot of people kicking themselves in the Ball this summer when the new comes out. It did help Verizon though getting all of those people stuck on 3 for the next 2 years that did not return theirs or did not have enough time. Why do you think it went from a 30 day return to a 15 when the iphone came out.

These analysis are nothing more than hyped guesses. I'm sure if Verizon sold over 1 million the first weekend they wold have let everyone know as I'm sure Apple would have also. Other analysis have the number very low.
Remember, most phones don't come out with a ton of hype to be sold on day one. They usually sell more as time goes on. The iPhone is the exception--it sells high the first few days then declines. So, for Verizon to say the iPhone was the best "single day" seller isn't saying much at all.

What kind of phone does the other 93,000,000 (93 million) customers have then?
9. BaiGanyo (Posts: 308; Member since: 07 Feb 2011)
Wow, slightly over 1% of Vzw customers bought a new phone. Snore. Nothing to see here. Another apple flop. And they are dumb enough to try to brag about it.
12. 530gemini (Posts: 2198; Member since: 09 Sep 2010)
Highest number of orders in Verizon's history, and you call it a flop? I think your brain has flopped, lol. Go back to sleep. You need it :)

I was using symbian for 6 years then recently moved to android with N1 but what else?. its just a buggy, slow, fragmented OS. just from 4 days i am using iPhone 4 & i must say even with some shortcomings i am more then happy with my iphone. can have the best applications in world, best games you can ever imagine. just having few widgets cant make an os.
i am more then sure 90% android fanboys are paid around all sites. same guys and same comments are in every place.
20. Kjayhawk (Posts: 271; Member since: 07 Oct 2010)
John don't lie... you never owned an android phone. Also iOS is more fragmented than Android do some research

Its ok. We feel the same way about iFans. I think a lot of peoples frustrations with apple revolve around their focus of profit as opposed to filling the wants and needs of the user. The whole adobe flash thing(or a lack there of) screams "All we care about is how much we can make off of all of you. So what if you lose a good percentage of web functionality". If apple had come in with more openess and a real desire to appease the end user, iPhone may have really been the phone to change everything.

This article just this morning in Chronicle: Verizon to halt iPhone unlimited data plans...ouch..."as soon as this summer", CFO Fran Shannon said.
19. Kjayhawk (Posts: 271; Member since: 07 Oct 2010)
I think some people need to understand that a lot of people don't care about the iPhone 4. They are not going to go out of their way to purchase it, just wait till these peoples contracts are up maybe they will get an iPhone or Android.

I dont get all the iPhone haters. If you think it sucks why do you follow around all the articles about and post obsessively? Why do you praise droid which copied so much, such as pinch to zoom and the app store? You all remind me of the gay bashed that's secretly a flaming closet homosexual. Maybe you have iPhones and masturbate to them hiding in your garages, closets etc.

Wow dude! That's pretty vile and intense. More vile than intense though. However, you may have aided in proving a very valuable point. The immaturity with which your post smelled profusely of, shows how mindless the droves of Apple users have become. You latch on to a tech device because your BFF has one. There isn't any real reason. Nothing concrete that could support your decision. You simply have a deep seated desire to be like everybody else. You couldn't possibly imagine yourself as the black sheep in what I'm assuming is a very small circle of friends. I see people like you daily in my store. Sad state of affairs but it is what it is I guess. This doesn't encompass all iPhone users by the way. Just the vast majority as of late.

There's lots of reasons I like the iPhone. It has a great, stable and easy to use operating system. It has the best touch screen on the market meaning it's more responsive than other touch screens such as the incredible and droid 2. It has a great battery life. It has the most and the best apps out of any phone. It has a front camera for video calls. It has iTunes which gives me access to thousands of podcasts. It has a great web browser and music player. It has a sleek design. You put that all together and it's very easy to see why people like this phone.
The difference is that unlike you i don't take time out of my day to bash anyone that says they like a droid phone. It makes you look like you're envious of the iPhone. If you're happy with your phone why do you post so much on all the iPhone articles. Why do you praise droid for doing all the same stuff the iPhone was already doing before droid came out?

Everything you mentioned is available on my captivate....and my phone does not drop calls on the AT&T network....
31. chorr1001 (Posts: 26; Member since: 02 Mar 2011)
Typically, Android users, or hell just anyone that post in these forums doesn't bash anyone until people like you and 530gemini run out of valid tech arguments for your device of choice and then start attack the person in a futile attempt to maintain your devices superiority. You don't really see too many people bashing the phone itself either. Instead we comment on Apples business model which is designed to bleed as much money as they can from anyone willing.
Why do you think Apple doesn't support OTA upgrades for their OS? Because big papa Steve Jobs couldn't tell if your iPhone was jail broken and thus, losing his potential to make ridiculous sums of money. How else is he going to pay the secret lab full of scientist at cupertino to find a way to clone him?
