The screen is probably just defective. The Hero is going to have the same issue aswell in a small number of batches... Its a coating you're going to get X number of glass screens that didn't bond correctly.

actually this probably isnt an isolated incedent, i have heard the phone is having problems all around......plus this now with the coating wearing off.....sounds like alot of 30 day returns apple

sounds like it needs an actual razor to fix that screen!

Are you saying that this is not sn isolated incident because you've heard about other problems the 3GS has or is it not an isolated incident because you have actually probably heard of many similar problems?

seems like he means both.

13. lolipopjones posted on 05 Jul 2009, 20:02

It probably isn't an isolated due to the amount of phones sold. If they sold 1 million and 10% fail or have some form of issues that 10% is still a huge number.... Nothing is perfect but its better then the Storms 35% return/failure rate.

sucks for him.

to bad it doesnt have a removable back, and battery... Apple could just replace the back covers and save themself the trouble of having to replace the whole phone when this happens...

9. trentsinmypants posted on 05 Jul 2009, 14:11

hes got to be using some type of cleaner on his screen. There is no way he rubbed the coating off just from playing a game (unless he has WAY too much time on his hands)

that's not the back of the phone, it's the front. you can see the speaker in the pics.

iPhonearena does it again LOL its clearly the front of the phone, why do they keep stating that its the back? I can see messing up once but not one of those shots looks like its of the back. . . we tall did! ha ha.

You are correct. It is the front of the phone. Thank you for your comment and the article will be revised.

All I know is that EVERY ipod I've ever owned has had some kind of problem with it. That's why my trust in Apple's craftsmanship is so poor. I just don't think they make a quality portable device. Their computers on the other hand, I love and have never had any kind of problem with.
