0. phoneArena 24 Oct 2012, 09:49 posted on

The iPad mini, which, by the way, was unveiled yesterday (if you somehow haven't noticed), comes to answer the prayers of users who desperately need a tablet, but find the powerful 10-inchers to be a bit of an overkill...

You should have seen how Phil Schiller was owing androids ass. He pointed out something very important-the best UI in apps and User experience is only available on ios. Also nexus 7 soft buttons eat up a hell lot of real estate.

Apple should have compared it to the Goopad mini, due out in November for $99. Running Android Jelly Bean... Go Goopad!!! China is making it with better Specs.

I find funny that they mention that the iPad mini has a bigger screen but they don't mention the lower resolution..

The bigger the screen, the further away your face is therefore low resolution doesn't mean everything is gonna be pixelated. The resolution is decent. N7 might have better PPI but the screen technology used is cheap TFT vs Good quality IPS for ipad mini

Learn your facts, the Nexus 7 has an IPS display.

Just google Nexus 7 for god sake.

Throttle it back, Ray. Normally I don't call out how many articles of "x" are released but this is a bit too much. Everything we needed to know was posted here:

Along with all the other articles posted about this exact same subject yesterday.

Wow!, Sounds like ray is a little partial to his apple juice.
"rich content ecosystem that are unrivaled by anything else currently on the market." ?
really????
"Apple has once again trumped the competition as far as overall design goes"
???

Boy do I hate reading crap.

Rich eco system? you mean the ability to subscribe to some magazine not yet on Google Play is worth forgoing The Quad core + HD+ cash saved on a Nexus 7?

trumped the competition as far as overall design goes? Pretty desperate to say something positive there.

So Instead of getting A cheaper, more powerful, better OS (my opinion) tablet, you are spending more to get a rear camera and continue your subscription to some random magazine?

You can spin it in many different ways. Get used to the fact that they both are good for different reasons. One suits you one suits him. End of story - we all can be happy without saying we have the best.

Ipad mini has a larger screen, is lighter and thinner, better quality materials and probably build, wider range of apps (yes there are lots of bad ones but ios still has more quality apps), rear camera, more accessories available, Cellular available, 32gb and 64gb available, 2 different colors available.

Nexus is cheaper, better processor, more customizable os, has file managers, wider range of videos supported, widgets etc, thinner and smaller, most of the apps ios has, isn't tied to itunes, uses non proprietory connectors.

All this stupid android and ios fighting. I have an android phone and plan to get an ipad mini. I can have the best of both worlds while everyone else can fight it out which half is best while I can have the whole package.

I get the iPad's classy, subtle, shiny, in your face design philosophy, but I also get the solid, calm, understated, industrial visual presence of the Nexus.
So, saying one trumps the other is IMO unprofessional..they are designed almost perfectly (Nexus ) and perfectly (iPad )for what they need to represent.

Where is the Galaxy Tab 7.7? That would make a good comparison with the iPad mini.

chrapple is dead and irrelevant. they are just using up what little innovation they have. what success they had died with jobby jobs. if i were to buy a tablet today, go with android or win 8, talk about innovation. they are revamping the whole ecosysytem of technology at home.

Phonearena writers are disappointment to journalism. They shouldn't be fanboys so as to write unbaised articles but i guess, it is the norm now 'cos i've been to CNET (the least ashamed), THEVerge, Engadget and i must say, it is common with them all.
Whoever will choose iOS over Android, WP8 or even Symbian ain't ready for smartphone experience. Why use a launcher when you can have the real dea?

So just cuz there is a more "comfortable" ipad now, apple is the best again Ray? LOL the ecoysytem is still as much of a "trap" as it was before and IOS is still as restricted as its ever been! fan boyism of apple fans is so mind blowing its a shame

I don't understand why PA has such a hardon for Apples glorious design.. sure it's nice.. but honestly, it's getting old and boring as hell.

This article does nothing to mention the pluses of the Nexus..

My dad just texted me wanting to know if it would be cool to buy my daughters iPad mini's for Xmas. I said, lets save some $$ and get faster, better resolution and easier to use (no iTunes) with the Nexus7. DONE!

Whenever it comes to apple products (which i love) this website whether it be talking about a review or just commenting on news and or releases, never has a negative thing to say about any apple products EVER... Im beginning to think Apple pays this website to ensure that said website writes about them in only glowing and positive terms and conditions

unfortunately for you green robots, i think iPad Mini is going to dominate the economy range tablet market off of sheer reliability alone. we all know that the title for the amount of features that are available belongs to android but in terms of overall stability...Mini will most likely reign. i'm sure ppl will knit-pick any little thing that happens (like they do iPhone) but sorry ppl...Mini is going to move weight. Biggest competitor will continue to be Kindle Fire brand b/c its a household name & maybe the Samsung line up, but the random android tablets out there...Nexus 7, Asus Transformer line (which are big players in the android community but not mainstream enough), so on & so forth...probably not going to be a threat to iPad Mini. For Apple, i feel bad for the iPod...seems like it is starting to get lost in the "shuffle"...get it? eh eh! aw nevermind...ya bastards (Peter Griffin voice)

I'd be in for an iPad Mini, if I could get it with Android OS. Though it's probably a big piece of crap, I'll be getting one of those Goopad Mini's for $99.
