Just as we expected, after all the leaks and speculations, Apple officially unveiled the iPad mini at today's press event. And exactly as the name suggests, the tablet is a thinner, lighter variant of the iPad as we know it, with a smaller screen and form factor that makes it even more portable than its larger sibling...

it's very, very nice but the price is what's going to make or break it. $300 for a 32GB and $400 for a 64GB is the highest they'll be able to go to offset something like a Nexus 7 or the plethora of cheaper e-reader/tablets out there like the Nook HD and the Kindle Fire HD pairs.

they blew it if they wanted to take sales from the Nexus 7. the 16GB Nexus 7 is about to be a whole $130 cheaper than the 16GB iPad Mini and the 32GB Nexus 7 is $180 cheaper than the 32GB iPad Mini

Dude they are Obviously under pressure, have you ever seen Apple doing such in dept comparison with the nexus even when the nexus was not advertised as a thin tab? Look how they skipped their market share and jumped to web traffic and introduced a new iPad Lol

And I finally got my n7 I love it so far it feels light and nice to the hand it also has a size that fits on my pocket or a small bag :D Happy happy

You sound stupid. Apple is under pressure from who? Take your android blinders off and stop marching to these companies beats. The mini will obiterate your N7 in sales. Why not just enjoy your N7 and stop wishing for a companies downfall. Android fanboys are the funniest people in the world!

I'm not wishing for a company downfall, I think many articles talk about this pressure everywhere, I'm not inventig this, bit I guess you at too blind to see a company holding an 80%+ is now down to nearly half market share in less than a year to the point they didn't bragged about market share numbers this time around like they did on the iPhone announcement, its obvious competition is hitting them and by competition I do not mean nexus 7 only

Lol, thumbs down for an honest observation? It isn't my fault Apple stole the design from Samsung.

$100 too expensive. There's a reason the Nexus is made of plastic. They could have made it out of aluminium but decided to keep it at a reasonable price.

I just don't see the point in pricing this "mini" in USD$ 329.00. Think about it, almost like an ipad 2, but just for USD$ 70.00 less. In my opinion, that's hardly a bargain. Rest assured, Nexus 7 and other Android tablets, including the Fire, will continue selling the same.

I know that. What i'm saying is, that if the product where priced around 229 - 259, maybe i will consider buying it. also, i know i'm not the only one who thinks this way.

They won't price it just like an iPod touch! Get real the iPods wouldn't make any sense then.

So, Apple is saying a bigger screen with more surface area is better than other devices with a smaller surface area. I guess I'm should be glad I got the SGS3 instead of the iP5 because the SGS3 has a bigger screen with more surface area, so it is better. :)

Specks size and everything only matters when. It favors them loved how they compared the screen with the N7 and claimed how better things look on a bigger screen, but hey Google should do the same with they release the nexus next Monday and compare 4" long vs 4.7" long-wide

Please tell me in what universe is a 4:3 aspect ratio superior to a 16:9? It's like saying tv's looked so much better in 1984 than they do today. Have fun watching newer movies on it and not seeing the edges.
