" The remaining 13% was mostly divided among Android tablets of various flavors, with the Samsung Galaxy Tab the “standout” at 4%."
Kindle fire will do well at that price point although it's telling that amazon is actually losing money on the tablet to be able to compete. Not too many companies can afford to do that.

notice the difference between the wishlist and the "plan to purchase"
65% of the people wished for an ipad, only 15% of the people are actually planning on buying any tablet in the next 90 days.
for those of us that work, there is this bad thing called a recession that limits people's incomes. people may want the ipad more (and it will sell more) but the wallet gets final say. many peeps may "settle" for a kindle because of the huge price disparity and they do pretty much the same thing anyways. your precious apple logo will win, just dont think its going to be as crazy. i got a feeling the amazon is going to be the runaway success of the season.

"These numbers are in line with recent sales estimates, which show Apple shipping about 65% of the tablets this year. "

Mhh, you are right remixfa. True, many people will buy the kindle fire for it's cheapynesss. And if you use the web, watch some movies yes then you do exact the same as most people on the iPad. +1 remixfa
Consider buying an iPad. xD

Its 15% wanting to buy a tablet 65% of wants to buy an iPad.
Just b/c Android suck at something doesnt mean you hav to discredit or abuse or even lie abt it
And as they have cheaper tablets Android will start taking market share from iOS just like they did in cell phones
The day they start giving breakdowns of no. of units sold or activated of each models people will realize tht Android just hav lower or mid-range market share and the day Apple comes out with new mid-range iPhone(which I doubt) Android will star losing its market share in cell phones as well

of 15% that might buy a tablet, 65% are WISHING for an ipad. wishing and getting arent the same thing.

Let's face it Apple did fundamentally invent the modern concept of a "tablet" without it there would be no BB Playbook, no Xoom, no GT, no kindle fire. They all hoped to tap into humans desire to own a product no one else has, most people (not u guys) only bought their Android tabs because no one else had them or because they looked nice. The greatest pride is knowing that you are different, thats the reasoning of android tablet makers. I commend Asus for adding a keyboard but others such as the Galaxy tab 10.1 are just blatant rip offs of the iPad

True the Galaxy tab is such an obvious one. They don't even try to hide they're copying.

Yeap they had to redesign it, it looked to similiar to the ipad. Can't blame them, they're right. xD

iOS is the most boring interface. How can these iSheeps not see? Maybe their iPhones/iPads were bought by their Mommys.

they buy it for the name, price is a small factor for "coolness"

Or maybe they're actually using their phones instead of just staring at their homescreen's.

Well done apple. Sucks transformer 2 isn't out :P and all those silly quad core tablets still cheaper than the ipad. Looks like ill just have to wait to upgrade to a tablet better than my TF1.
