So you think the company known for having an extremely loyal customer base will jump ship to unknown territories and not Android customers? Lets be realistic. I would expect all competitor percentages to drop while Windows is climbing... if it ever does that is.

LG has gained a small percent over APPLE, Samsung is just running this right now.

I love how all of the featured stories on PA are along the lines of how Apple is gaining on Android, the Galaxy S III has the same camera sensor as the iPhone 4S, or we think that Apple's SIM design was chosen by the ETSI.

They happened, but they aren't a very big deal. When Android or a phone powered by Android does something really big, they report less on it.

That's not true. the SGSIII got a ton of coverage on here.

Only reason Apple isn't on top of the overall Manufacturer phone sales, is because they don't make feature phones, or low cost Android phones. I still think being number 3 with only 3 phones that are really relevant is quite a feet. Im not pushing Apple but I think they do deserve the support they get, iPhones have a comfortable OS, albeit somewhat outdated, but it's something people can understand and most of their friends have already used an iPhone or iPod touch or something that draws them to Apple products. I personally like WP7 , but I think Apple is just another company, they might have questionable business practices and strong arm carriers into huge deals for one phone, but that doesn't mean there product isn't good. Carriers like Verizon wouldn't clammier to get the iPhone and Sprint wouldn't spend astronomical amounts of money if they didn't think it was product that sells and people appreciate or at least it deserved some praise.

Your points are fair, but this article is about just smartphone ownership, TMK.

Nothing against LG, but how the heck are there more LG smartphones owned than HTC or Motorola? Are the Rezound, Thrill, Phoenix, Spectrum, Revolution, and whatever else that popular? And these stats seem a tad sketchy, as it seems to relate more towards recent sales that (as stated) ownership.

That being said, kudos to Samsung for strongly having the top spot. Carrier saturation and good product help a lot

LG's latest offerings have been underwhelming imo. The Spectrum and Lucid are solid phones, and work for who they are targeted at for the most part. That said, I've seen a larger percentage of LG Spectrum's that have left my store wind up defective, either software or hardware problems than almost all the other phones we sell.

If the HTC Incredible 4G launches at the right price, ie $149 or lower after rebate, you will get a very good phone for a great price, imo.

LG is in bad need of a showstopper flagship phone, like Motorola, Samsung, HTC, and of course Apple all have.

too bad the title doesnt reflect the story.

basically, the market barely moved. and that was before the OneS/X went on sale. So basically, there wasnt any new launches. Wait until the reports with the OneS/X and the SGS3 drop.

I do believe you made an earlier statement that fits right here "

Those are all facts they reported. Sorry you want or live in a fantasy land where these things didint happen."

Remix' point was simply that the facts are before a device launch that is a quality device. To state someone is always ready with the excuse is, in terms of you Taco, Calling the Kettle Black. You always come up with non facts, assumptions, and flat out lies that you can never back up once asked to do so. The reason you are still on this website baffels me more than words can express. You never have a valid point in any topic you post and you are right maybe 2% of the time when you present you outlandish facts, or as I like to see them your points of view. Please stop now. In truth you should have stopped a long while back when you were still an unknown on this site because now you are like the football player that is way past their prime and just doesn't know when to call it quits...

what excuse, troll? its not like there was any actual movement in market share. your getting all excited and talking about how "iphone is gaining market share since its launching on new carriers", and it was a shift of not even 1%. You have serious mental issues. There hasnt been any big android phones launched since last year. There hasnt been any new iphones launched since bout the same time last year.

Its an observation of the obvious..

which is why you just cant get it.

"iOS closing the gap with Android in the States says latest comScore report" PA is a respectful site for news and if the title says that the gap is closing... that makes Apple is gaining ground and you can dispute al you want... 1%, the HTC are not out, whatever excuse.. right now.. it is what it is.. always looking into the future right remix...

lol, it wasnt even 1%. dont get your feathered thong ruffled over such a minuscule shift.

The point was, on the next report there will be a lot of android heavy hitters in the report, so you should expect your >1% to be obliterated and lost.
