One of the major reasons I got my iPhone was because Apple makes a big deal about how "SECURE" their OS is. Very disappointing!
I know all OS's have security holes but I expected more from Apple!

I agree, it's disappointing. It'll be hard to regain trust.
I wonder if they already patent it, they're so much into that, they might feel compelled to patent bugs too.

When apple refers to their OS as the most secure OS. They mean in terms of the most "closed" OS Lol meaning you can't do S*it with your phone unless apple knows what your doing... Plus with future updates it will continue on getting worse because Apple is getting cocky with all the billions they have in their reserves.

Its the one thing I've always hated coming from a HTC Android phone to iOS, but there's always jailbreaking which basically relies on iOS security holes, but I don't think Apple's goin to get cocky coz they have alot of money.

I find this greatly amusing after all the sheep baa'd so loudly when HTC was going through some hard times. these issues are just as bad, if not worse. apple is seriously dropping the ball. what would scare me more, is the fact they're only dealing with the cases on a reactive vs proactive level. like they're too busy rolling in their gross profits.

Hmmm...apple has the iphone completely locked down, stuck on a grid ui,limited customisability or options for customers because its supposed to make it secure against spyware and viruses.
its turns out apple tracks its users movements and locations at will,a camera 'bug' has been previously reported to take users photo and save and send it 'somewhere'. Ifans phonebooks and contacts have been accessed now users photos and videos are being accessed at will

Most of the public has no idea this is happening and will still buy the product no matter what.
Well sir, apple apps have been reported for taking all of your contacts and now pictures and videos just from downloading certain apps.
Customer: Ohhhhhh.... I'll get the iphone still.
It's like the words go right in one ear and out the other. Oh well.

This is good news...
funny thing is android (google apps) are definitely accessing all data as well.
But when you are a company of "reputation" the spolight and criticism is heavier.
i can imagine that the address book issue and now pic/vid issue was not addressed unitl an uproar started. its more of a "if they dont know its going on it wont hurt them"
no doubt they probably already knew about it, the same as android.
i dont see why this news will make people lose trust in apple or android. all these companies are out to make money and they do it by using our personal information.
i hope they fix this soon. for both OS's...

It is all about making money for Apple and Google now, with innovation. Before they used to innovate to benefit consumers first, thats why its better to look forward to smaller emerging companies.

Since when does android allow a third party developer to take your personal contact information, share it over an unencrypted data link, then allow that third party developer to store it? Same question for pics/vids? Curious if you have actual proof Google was this careless.
As far as Apple being in the spotlight more than Google? Really? They're both huge companies that will have every flaw pointed out ad nauseam.

What, was Jobs standing there with his finger in the dike of all these issues? Were they just being hidden or did they just spring into existence?
