iOS 7.1 beta seeded to developers (with dev release notes)

0. phoneArena 18 Nov 2013, 17:54 posted on

We knew that it was on the way, but it looks like iOS 7.1 could be released sometime pretty soon. Apple has just seeded a beta version of the first major update to iOS 7 to developers, and we're getting a look at the full change log too. Okay, it's not the full change log actually, because it doesn't list any of the consumer-side bug fixes. All we're seeing right now are the fixes that developers are getting...

I do too, but man people should move on from those older models, if possible. I do understand that not everyone can afford to upgrade, but older chipsets just don't cut it.

But before IOS 7 everything was smooth and worked fine on the 4. Apple need to focus on fixing the lag and the bugs before introducing new features.

Dude we're talking tech, take the silly fanboy stuff somewhere else. All platforms have lag and bugs.

I just don't have these issues, but I have a 5S and a retina mini. Both have A7's with M7 co's and a full gig of ram. That could be it, My mini does run ios7 better than my iPad 3 did, which had a gig, but also an A5x I think.

You have the 5s and the new mini, of course they aren't going to lag. We're talking about the older devices, which have taken a massive performance hit.

Yes, all platforms have lag and bugs, but IOS 7 is at the moment the worst offender. My friend has an iPhone 4, and after updating he can't even open his email app without the phone lagging.

My gf has the iPhone 4 and the lag is awful. Nothing was spared from lag. My iPhone 5 is lag free though.

They won't fix it, it has happened like clockwork to every phone they have released. Also, you think the quality control and release testers didn't notice it lags with a completely wiped fresh install? They know and they don't care, because they likely want it that way. Releasing the 5c and making the ipad 2 the lower end model is just more evidence that Apple will do anything to force upgrades and up sells.

As for upgrading, maybe they can't for one reason or another. I had to deal with a crippled 3gs while studying in the UK for a year. My wife got stuck with a crippled 3g back when Canada had 3 year contracts (Thank God those were officially killed this year). Aside from that they might be traveling for a few months or just don't have the funds to upgrade (and now you have only one iPhone model worth buying).

Woodshop is right ios 7 sucks and i hate upgrading(constantly forced). I wish they would just come up with a (Major)upgrade that fixes bug issues instead of features. Think about it when you add features without focusing on real bugs, it causes more problems. Apple repeats itself and the A7 chip? Its not really helping my A5 chip device works better and faster. Let's just say we want better out an upgrade. And the apps crashing most of the time, and Dakk jedi it has nothing to do with older devices. I have kitkat running a phone that's three years old and running like its a new born baby. Its mainly the updates not the device itself. That's just what apple wants is to just keep making you buying their devices

You are not forced to upgrade. You have fingers, and a brain that controls your fingers, to press the button that enabled the starting of an OS upgrade. Unless you live with a gun to your head, you do not technically have to upgrade.

Then you most not understand sarcasm lol use your brain. Technically you do if you want half your apps working for ios 7.

Living with a gun to my head? Its not that serious, and if your on ios 7 lets be honest ios 7 is buggy you don't really have a choice but to upgrade if you want the bugs fixed correct? Maybe you have a gun to your head sauce

I have an iPhone 5 running on iOS 7.0.4. I have been experiencing unresponsive touchscreen moderately but sometimes it's smooth then it gets annoying when the touchscreen starts to not work though the hardware buttons works fine (i.e. 2x click for multitasking then you can see the phone still works but the touchscreen is not). I'm not experiencing this on iOS 6.1.3. Does anyone of you experience this to?

I'm using iPad 2 and iPhone 4S, it lags before because of animation and parallax effect..., but after turning it off in settings area, it doesn't lag anymore and much faster now than iOS 6..

The wife's 4s is smooth as butter after disabling that nonsense. It will take some time before everything gets smoothed out-which it will as apple is generally good with software

IOS 7 is a bomb and i mean a real bomb. Lol
funny enough it lags for doing nothing. It's not like it even has half of the features android and the note 3 has yet it lags way more. Very weird if you ask me.

Hmm... So I've been using iOS 7 on my ip5 and to be honest it's def not that buggy as PA and some trolls here make it out to be. Funniest thing is that people here start posting links from mac rumors and apple support site. Well duh you'll find issues on those sites coz that's what those sites are for . iPhone 4 def needs improvement with the ios7 but 4s onwards works like a charm. Dunno about iPads since I don't have one

Wonder why the closed camp is having so many bugs/features in latest releases?

All on in house hardware, no outside OEM involvement even.

Quality control lol.
